  1. Hi I am having a weird issue with the front panel of my is 250. There is a small bezel around and near the screen itself made from a thin black plastic which seems to be affected by temperature way too often. The plastic expands and shrinks and makes annoying creaking sounds. I have attached an image below of the problem area and have circled around the bezel, it is black piece of plastic on the inner side of the display cavity. I was wondering if i can probably pry out this bezel without having to remove the entire nav unit itself. I did attempt to pry it out very gently but was afraid of breaking it.
  2. Hi all, I have been experiencing a very weird, impossible to pinpoint door rattle. It is coming from the right/passenger door. I have removed, for what it seems, at least 10 times the door panel to try to pinpoint the rattle. The sound is very metal like. It is 100% reproducible in a very narrow speed window - when the car is moving between 90 and 115 km/h over a mildly wavy road (not hard or bumpy, nor filled with potholes etc). It produces a very steady clunking noise which is monotone, sometimes getting slightly louder sometimes getting softer. The rattle is perfectly reproducible and predictable. The location of the rattle is behind the door panel itself, and between the two metal layers of door frame where the window inserts into the door. The picture below is taken from the internet, used for reference, i have tried to circle the suspected location of the rattle. What I have tried so far that did not affect the noise at all - taken out the door panel and drove the car around without it - taken out the window cover on the inside (the long black triangular piece of plastic that is decorative and hides the door frame on the top from the inside) - removed the plastic cover around the door latch (which is slightly overlapped/covered by the door panel) - tightened all bolts that are visible and accessible on the door frame itself (behind the door panel/cover) - tightened the window regulator/lifter (put the window 80% down, and made sure the exposed bolt is tight) - tried wrapping duct tape around the door striker - tried moving the door striker up/down and/or forward/backward - tried completely removing the door striker (drove like that while using another person for assistance) - made sure no cables or connectors are loose inside the door frame itself (and hitting the door from the inside) Things I noticed along the way - the other day while messing around with the window regulator. I tried, while the window was down (at about 90%), pushing one of the scissor legs (that lifts the window up/down) in and out. The plastic white guide that is in the channel attached to the one of the scissors legs actually seemed very loose, and made quite strong noise/rattle. But when I put the window up completely and tried to reproduce that, it was rock solid and steady, not the slightest movement. I was not able to reproduce it by applying strong force up/down or forward/backward.
  3. Update, I was being dumb. The window locking on the driver side was enabled (for some reason) and i found out accidentally by just trying with the back windows (which were also disabled). I never, doubted that window lock switch since I never ever used it, I have no reason to. So somehow it was flipped on. It could be me accidentally pressing it. At this point, I am not sure But, In case someone else is in a similar situation, if the passenger window keys lights (the LEDs that illuminate the window key) are OFF that probably means the window lock switch is ON, and it's not the switch or the window that is bad. Thread can be closed.
  4. Hi, Thanks, I have a LHD Is250. From the guide above, is it done through the driver side master controls or the actual window side (right side in my case). Since as i said in my first post, from the actual right side, it does not go either way (up or down). Master switches on driver side work both auto an manual
  5. Hi, Today I was working on the right-hand side door panel, I removed it without a problem, to inspect something behind it but after putting it all together, the right hand window switch is not working. I can not control the window at all - it won't go up or down. From the driver side I can bring it up/down without a problem even the auto function works as well. I started reading around in the forums, most people were offering a reset solution, but it involved the actual window switch working in these procedures. I would really appreciate some help here. PS. The seat memory is working fine, the door handle, manual door lock and even the switch/button to lock/unlock the door on the window switch panel are working all fine. Seems like only the window switch isn't, and yes, both connectors are seated in okay.
  6. Just tried it to see how much of it can be removed, the top part is easy, the sides as well. But some part of the seal is actually located inside the door, you can see from the diagram the long vertical left and right arms of the seal, part of those go into the door, not sure how deep, and if i could just pull them and stuff the new one in without any disassembling. If i judge by the diagram, and the plastic garnish 67664C, about 50% of the vertical parts of the seal is inside the door. I tried pulling on both sides, one side (next to A pillar) seemed to come off real easy, pulled about 10-15 cm (managed to return it back) The side that is next to the B pillar was very hard to pull, i didnt force it too much.
  7. Hi, Thanks for the swift response. I actually lowered the window, and from the outside I tried to pry the seal out with a plastic tool, it seems to be just press fit in there, I managed to pull a part of it out, but stopped and returned it back i didnt want to unset it, since i dont have the replacement part yet. I want to believe it is just press fit in there and not held by anything. The rubber seal itself has channels similar to a plastic trim which fit between the part you mentioned (the plastic trim that goes around the window on the inside) and the metal of the door frame on the outside.
  8. Hi everybody, I was wondering if you guys can help me with a bit of information about the following part number 6815153020. It is the left front window channel seal. I was wondering if you have any idea how to replace that part. I am afraid it might be a very involved job, but any help is appreciated. I have provided two reference images below. Thanks a bunch ! 9. Great, thank you very much that helps a ton. So according to the diagram it can be removed by just prying it out ? Also while looking at the car today, i noticed that a very small part (1-2cm) is overlapped by this (attachment below). Is that side railing going to hold down/pinch on the panel or am i going to be able to slide the old one out and slide the new one in ? Thanks again !
  10. Hello, I have been investigating a slight wind noise coming from my front left driver door and I managed to track down the issue to a very stiff old seal that is attached to the left rear door and makes contact with the driver door's seal. The part in question has the following part number - 7576253010. Below I have provided a sample image from quick googling. The seal in question is actually attached to that plastic part. Since I can not get the gasket only, I will have to get the whole plastic part. I wanted to make it as a DIY project. I wanted to know if this part is only glued on to the door or is it a more involved process of removing it. Is it just as simple as prying it open with some plastic tools. I am concerned about potentially breaking something. Any information will be helpful, thanks in advance !
