Good morning everyone. A couple of years ago I fitted Vland headlights. all worked ok. DRL worked. MOT this year my 2010 IS250 failed due to no parking lights, rear lights ok. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem. I have tried to find the fuse but the information I have is somewhat misleading. The DRL are wired as Vland recommend. Are the parking lights operated with the stalk switch through a relay? If so which one. The highway code mentions that it is mandatory for parking lights to be used when parked on a road where the speed limit is greater than 40 mph. I cannot remember the last time I used parking lights!

Many thanks for the replies. As far as I am aware the plates are only there to allow the wheels to move easily. So I would have thought that the logical thing would be to jack the car up on the ramp and then slide the plates in. Maybe the technician wasn't used to driving an automatic and was using too much right foot. The company wasn't Kwik Fit. David

Hi, I have just been to a well known Tyre company to have a 4 wheel alignment, a kerb sprung out and hit the off side wheel. Anyway the tech said that they couldn't do the alignment as the plates kept spinning out. Has anyone else come across this. I don't want to go Lexus with their prices, but maybe that's the next step.

Hi can I add my bit to this discussion. I have 2010 IS 250 my local garage only has E10 so I have been using this for some while with no obvious effects. A 200mile trip down the M1 averages about 40 mph around town about 30mph. The paragraph below was taken from Wikipedia 'Ethanol Fuel' Ethanol contains approximately 34% less energy per unit volume than gasoline, and therefore in theory, burning pure ethanol in a vehicle reduces range per unit measure by 34%, given the same fuel economy, compared to burning pure gasoline. However, since ethanol has a higher octane rating, the engine can be made more efficient by raising its compression ratio. My guess on why pre 2010 cars are not suitable for E10, is that on 2010 cars the compression ratio has been raised to compensate. However on pre 2010 cars with a lower compression ratio the published fuel consumption figures wouldn't be correct when using E10, therefore opening up a can of worms for the manufacturers.

Hi, I have had my IS 250 for about a year now, and decided to replace the cabin filter. Found that the recirculatory damper was broken (the button having no effect) and the damper can be easily moved by hand. No I didn't break it. My question is simple as a repair is not worth while; for fresh air should the damper be up or down? What a lovely car to drive very often drive from South Yorkshire down to West Sussex. Four or five hours in one go is no problem. The car has done 98000 miles. have just changed the headlights for Vland, what a difference so much better.

Many Thanks for the good wishes. yes its a V6, 6 speed Its a dream to drive. Windscreen washer bottle spang a leak last week. Good news the dealer replaced it under warranty. So far all is well. As far as the sat nav goes I will use my phone.

I live in South Yorkshire, I am a retired electronics engineer but now having been retired some ten years the industry has now left me a long way behind. I have just bought myself a ten year old IS250. So far I love it, it drives very smoothly and is very comfortable. The only gripe so far is the out of date sat' nav'. I beleive mine is a hard drive update, any idea the cost of updating via a Lexus dealer. I can of course use my mobile. My previous car was an Avensis and I thought that was a good car but this one is 100 times better. As with the Avensis I wish that Toyota could be a little more helpful in supporting owners of older vehicles.
