  1. thanks for the replies guys, but i am pretty certain steering has changed since i bought mine. tyres are fine... re: geometry, i have heard a few people mention this. is it an expensive operation to have done?
  2. morning! quick and simple question on steering - the steering does not feel responsive as when i first got it. i prefer the steering to be tight and responsive but at the moment it feels a little too light for my liking. is this an quick and cheap fix or not?
  3. hmm, okies. but what about the braking? would it affect that too?
  4. hey guys. yeah, i checked tyre pressure recently and all seems to be fine on that front. what i forgot to tell you re: spare tyre is that it is a driver-side tyre which is currently placed on the passenger side! i know, i shouldnt be doing this but i had no choice when i other tyre got screwed. but even so, would it really make that much difference? and also, it felt like the symptoms were pre the spare tyre anyways... Mat - very kind on the offer, I may have to take you up on that!
  5. hey guys, thought i would come here for a bit of advice. my lex has been playing up a bit recently. steering around corners is not as precise (seems like i have to turn the wheel more than usual, and I feel like I am drifting whenever I go round a round-a-bout) and the brakes dont seem as effective. it means i am driving the beast a lot slower cos I have dont the confidence in it :( presently i have a spare tyre on cos I am having problems with my current one but I doubt it can really affect it this much can it? can anyone provide what could be the problem?
  6. well, i have had the value changed so cant be that... i got the garage to do the water test but none leaked out so cant be that either... the tyre has been on the rim since I bought it which was Aug last year. could it be a balancing problem or something?
  7. i have weird problems with my front passenger side tyre. most of the time it is fine but then suddenly over night it becomes completely flat. when i try to pump it up at the station, it doesnt pump up as you can feel the air escaping between the tyre and the alloy wheel. however, when i get it checked at a tyre shop they cant find any cuts and they manage to blow it up fine, only for the whole process to happen again days later! any ideas?
  8. only a small, but very iritating problem: ever since my 60k service, the in-car ventitilation option on a/c unit turns to default whenever I turn on engine! normally, it always used to default to 'through' air or whatever it is called... any way of changing this manually to default to through air (as it means i have to flick it to this option every time i turn on engine) or will i need to take to garage? cheers :)
  9. was travelling along the m4 the other day doing 90mph - coppers drove past casually without doing/saying anything :P
  10. yep chris, you are dead right, thx for the info. http://www.excel-london.co.uk/excelv2/what...l?viewEvent=442 is the link for anyone else interested seems the next one is in July of next year and is now based back in London. Does anyone know why it changed, or why there is none this year?
  11. Bit out of touch with all the motor show malarky - are they still doing one in NEC Birmingham? If so, could anyone tell me if they have one this year, or whether it has already been and gone? cheers! :)
  12. dammmn, unlucky mate! hope all goes well...
  13. i personally cant stand the interior - i think it looks cheap and nasty. i really cant see why anyone says it looks nice??! and that gearstick - omg how cheap!! the only thing that I like about it is the new dials sorry but I am not convinced at all :(
  14. £600 cripes! I'm nearly 35 and Barclays quoted me nearly £1,400! Mines just been reduced from £1,000 to £875. ← i have one yrs no claims, am 23 and I managed to get companies to compete for the best price for me - defo worth shopping round for the best price. eventually got it down to £600. try www.confused.com, bell direct and elephant.co.uk although will be different for anyone depending on circumstances :) good luck!
  15. oh, okies :) i have just signed up now myself, and I assume that all these insurance details are sent to me in the introductory pack (if not - can you tell me in this thread please?) i dont suppose you would know if they do any good deals on younger drivers do you? I have just turned 23 and got quoted £600 from elephant which aint too bad...
