  1. Car back from service. Georgios post confirmed, it is a reprogramming of the data communications module.
  2. I was told the same when I booked a service for my 300e. I will ask for details when it goes in next week.
  3. I use a Motorola wireless adaptor. Works well, although I believe linking it to more than one phone can be tricky. Main problem is availability; I got mine on ebay, shipped from San Francisco; paid about 50% over the retail price. I think only worth doing if the phone supports wireless charging, and the car has the charging pad. Otherwise, you would need to plug it in anyway.
  4. On a related note, does anybody know why the 300e comes with 'normal' tyres, whereas the 250h is on run flats? The Lexus dealership I sourced my 300e with were adamant the tyres were run flats, so I do think there is a bit of confusion around this issue. I wonder if the weight of the electric car precludes run flats?
  5. Views on using the option to charge to 90% rather than 100% please. Presumably Lexus offer this for a reason, but would it really improve battery life? The 10 year warranty for the battery doesn't mention patterns of use.
  6. Another vote for the '3 eye LED' setup. Brightest headlights I've ever known, and enable a very subtle difference between low and high beam. No indication from oncoming traffic that they are being dazzled either. Lexus do seem to change the model specs which offer this, so check carefully.
  7. This function stopped working with my 300e. Turned out it was because I had turned off smart entry! I would never have linked the two, and was assuming a glitch in the app. Lexus support were really helpful in resolving the problem, but I thought I would provide a heads up in case any one else gets the same issue [don't know if this would also apply to the hybrids though].
  8. I've had Lexus wheel studs snap, once whilst changing from summer to winter wheels [grrr...]. Only thing to be said is breakdown guys are comfortable with driving the car with only 4 studs to a garage, and the replacement is straightforward. This is unlike current Ford Fiesta's, which require the whole assembly to be replaced!!
  9. On the premium navigation cars [I imagine a similar option is available on the other set ups as well though], you can disable keyless entry/start by: Set up Car Vehicle customization Door locks Keyless [on/off] My local Toyota/Lexus dealership do this as a routine on the demo vehicles! I have keyless turned off. It means you need to press the unlock button on the fob to get in, and hold the fob over the button start to allow the button start to work. No big deal in terms off loss of convenience in my view. I had a previous generation IS250 stolen, which the insurers felt was a keyless theft.
