  1. @Notamech Thanks so much for the reply. Some recommend a clear film be placed on the rear mudflaps as grime might be stuck between the body and the plastic of the mudflap. Did you add this on?
  2. @Notamech Did you have to remove the wheels to fit the mudguards? I've got a set that I removed from my siblings' IS before he sold - just haven't had the opportunity to enquire how much it'd cost to have a garage do it.
  3. Hi all, Finally getting around to providing an update. 1. They reimbursed me for the damaged window shades (I provided a receipt for the replacement); and 2. They said they could not prove either way who accessed the boot and why they would've opened (and left opened) the windscreen washer fluid. They said we'd reached an impasse and there's nothing else they can do as no one in the workshop would have a reason to open the boot. I had correspondence with Lexus HQ throughout (who where very nice) and so left feedback in the satisfaction survey.
  4. Thanks both, don't want to put my foot in it re forum rules with naming and shaming. Others have had pleasant experiences with this branch of the group and they did fix the A/C (I've only tested it on the drive back from the dealer so far) and provided a slight discount after my awe at the original quote. Will provide an update early next week re their investigation into why they'd be going into the boot and opening up the windscreen fluid... then leaving it open and throwing away the lid... Even now it still sounds like a complete set up (the only reason would've been for me getting Lexus HQ involved to ensure The parts weren't covered under warranty; and that they'd followed proper procedure re identifying the fault). Needless to say, think I'll will be looking at rated /reputable garages nearby for any future works.
  5. Hi all - as an update: I called up Lexus HQ who checked their process - they'd carried out everything according to spec so no faults there. I've collected our car this morning but noticed 3 things; 1. Car was not washed despite promise that they would (it's their policy to wash all cars that come through the dealership for any works); 2. They ripped a window shade that was placed in the rear passenger window, the other was bent out of shape; and 3. They (for whatever reason) made a right state of the items in the boot and left my windscreen wiper fluid (5L container) open and without trace of the lid?!) - had I driven away without checking, that would've tipped over and created a right mess, not to mention ruin all the other items in the boot and quite dangerously - right above the hybrid battery pack?! I raised all 3 points with the staff, their response to the above (in order) are; 1. They claim they did wash it - they did not, same bird poop on the roof of the car as when I left it with them and brake dust build up on the rims, same as when I left it with them. 2. They claim they have no reason to remove these - neither do I, they were both fine when I left the car with them and both attached to the windows properly. 3. They again say they have no reason to go into the boot - they claim I must have left it like that when I brought the car to them - there is no way I'd risk damaging the car like this, I also use the boot daily so would've instantly noticed that he lid wasn't on. Furthermore, I have OCD so would've checked the lid is on, tightly, several times before I'd close the boot whenever I use it. Currently having Lexus HQ follow up and contact the dealership manager - apparently there is no manager available until next week. Makes me wonder if that's why the standards have dropped, there's no one to check up on them... So far, they have offered to compensate me for the window shades and played down the windscreen wiper fluid - I've told them I need it investigated properly as it could've done quite a bit of damage to to the car and contents. Will keep anyone interested posted.
  6. Thanks @wharfhouse & @Notamech. I’ll be calling up Lexus HQ this morning.
  7. @wharfhouse 76k miles, full Lexus servicing. They said those parts aren’t covered under the relax warranty. @Notamech Yeah, went with Lexus for the work. I didn’t ask what investigations they carried out, they said that the O rings needed replacing as the leak was coming from there then said they’d re-gassed the system but it wasn’t holding charge so it’d be the switch (whatever that is, they said it was something to do with the pressure) that needs replacing too… they’re having to order the part and so keeping the car likely until early next week - no courtesy car available. They said they could let me take the car until the part arrives but can’t guarantee they’ll have the space to do the work if I did until the following week.
  8. I’ve taken the plunge… their technician now says it’s still got a leak (after replacing the O rings), it’s a switch that needs replacing now. Part cost is around £300 and another hours labour on top of that… Mind you, they’ve said none of this is covered under warranty…
  9. Just been quoted £320 to replace o rings on the a/c unit by main dealer... thoughts? £21 parts and the rest is labour... should I just go to local garage?
  10. Hi all, Coming up to the time I've got to get these replaced (2014, 76k and still on originals). Wondered if there's any point in getting OEM (c.£370 for pads and discs) or looking at other branded discs / pads? what do ya'll do?
  11. Booked in for the recall work in March (with Jemca Sidcup), there's apparently a 9 week wait for the parts. Got it to show properly on the website by logging in and going to same link as original post. Didn't get a letter or anything, just checked it on the Lexus website and gave them a call.
  12. Hi @Nickyt211, I'm in the exact same situation as you, 2014 IS300H Premier here. After reading this thread, I got on the phone to my dealer (Jemca Sidcup) and they updated my service plan with the new prices (I had a service plan with them for 2 years, the 9yr and 10yr services) which had totalled to £910. They've since transferred everything across to the new service plan which totals £840. So thanks for posting this and everyone else for your replies! I've seen @royoftherovers mention an extended warranty for 10+ year old Lexus? Maybe he'll be kind enough to elaborate :).
  13. Make sure you get an invoice for this to keep a record of it being re-sprayed. The invoice should total £0.00 but what you want is the documentation for it.
  14. So confused - so we should be cancelling our service plans?
  15. There's been a recent hike in service prices (from 1st Aug). @bigglesfllesundone I asked Lexus Jemca Sidcup re a dealership service plan and they said they don't do those anymore and only issue our national service plans (of course, this may differ to other dealerships). I signed up recently to a 2 year plan (90k and 100k services) - total £910.00 (before the hike).
  16. How interesting! Thank you! will look into it in... two years time 🙂
  17. Do you mean the Hybrid battery warranty? I can't find the option to extend the vehicle warranty or any information on this on the Lexus website. I thought they removed that option with the introduction of Lexus Relax? For others that are interested, just had it confirmed that the 10+ year servicing will be priced as £185 for the minor and £375 for the major (by Jemca Lexus). These are of course, subject to the rise in August.
  18. Just signed up to a service plan for the next 2 years (90k service and the larger-than-life 100k service) today. I was told by the salesman that they recommend only taking out a 2 year service plan as I would be offered a heavily discounted service plan once Bonito is not covered under the Relax scheme. This was with Lexus Jemca Sidcup who also advised that there will be a price rise on services from 1st August.
  19. My two cents - Get a invoice for all the work they're doing to the car (I know you're not paying for it but they can give you a print out stating everything they've done - totalling £0.00 etc). Something like a re-spray of a bumper could cause concern later on if you where to for example claim on the warranty for a faulty headlight, where they may reply with "We can see it's been resprayed and may have been involved in an accident, the warranty on that part is void". This is what happened to me so I've had to live with a slightly foggy headlight as I can't justify paying out c.£1k for a replacement. Other than that, the IS300h is a fantastic car - best I've owned so far. Mine's a 2014 Premier with 74k on the clock. No issues in 3 years of ownership - other than the aforementioned.
  20. I use California Scents - Halfords stock them or you can get pretty decent deals on Amazon / eBay. They fit into the cupholders on the armrests (if you don't use these often, as I don't). They last a decent amount of time - I open the vents on the cans about a quarter of the way and find it keeps it from being overpowering.
  21. Thanks all, Was slightly reluctant to go back to Jemca (I had a terrible experience with Jemca Croydon) but good to hear they're not all cut from the same cloth.
  22. First topic! Just picked up 'Bonito' (as in the tuna - on account of the colour) after it's 80k service with Lexus Battersea and I've been advised to cancel my service plan with them as they're closing down at the end of March! Pity as it's a 5 year service plan and we're only a year in - as it's with the Inchcape dealers, the next nearest service centre is Guildford. Can't really justify going that distance for a service (I live in the Oval, London area). Anyone got any advice on whether I should try get a service plan with Edgware Road (for the Lexus relax) / any experience with them? They're part of the Jemca group - OR - any other recommendations on what I should do next? Thought about calling Lexus and seeing if they'd have the power to upgrade my service plan to national...
  23. Not very technical here - but is my understanding re the solar charger right, in that you literally plug it in to the OBD port, place the panel somewhere sunny and let it do its magic?
  24. First post ever! @Alex00 Nice colour, love it! I might be wrong but I believe this is due to tyre skipping. I took mine in to Lexus Croydon (Jemca) shortly after purchasing it from their Edgeware branch and was advised that this was the case. Also have a look at:
