  1. Not sure if its just a coincidence but when I try to search for IS 250 start up rattle, pretty much all the search results talk about mk2 IS 250 which it was quite common for mk2. So since the same 4GR engine was also used in the next gen mk3 model, is the problem still there? or did Lexus/Toyota fix it at some point? My last Lexus, 2007 IS 250 had that startup rattle and it was very annoying, every time I was wondering if it was gonna rattle this time or not.
  2. Currently I drive a 2007 Lexus IS250. On average I drive about 6000km or ~3700 miles per year (work commute). My theory is that since my yearly mileage is so low, it wouldn't make sense to buy a hybrid because as far as I know hybrids dont really like to sit still, they need to be driven more. I do like the twin exhaust tips on the IS200T giving it a more sporty look and a nice boost in performance compared to the slouch gas-guzzling IS250. Fuel economy on IS300H cant be beat though and lots more of them on sale but again I don't drive a lot so I assume it would be bad for the hybrid battery.
  3. Interesting, currently have 5W30 in my 2007 IS 250, might try 0W20 next oil change
  4. NOTE: I recommend using head phones and turn up the volume when playing the clip 2007 Lexus IS 250 From the passenger side or middle dash area (definitely not driver side) I hear this noise as if a tiny metal ball would be loose and moving to the vibration, see the clip posted below. It only happens while driving and not during stand-still, the noise gets bigger if the road is not as smooth This noise only started in recent weeks as the weather got warmer. I definitely did not hear this sound during the winter when it was cold.https://youtu.be/fUUkVpV-lIU
  5. 2007 IS 250 @ 214k km/132k miles in max trim/options the main problem among others with the car is the oil leak from the timing chain cover how would you sell this car? be completely honest and list the car for 50% of market value? act dumb? Obviously not worth to fix it considering the market value of the car itself. I would like to get another Lexus because its embarrassing to again go get my car serviced at my local Lexus dealer and them noticing the oil leak and telling me the bad news, like it happened during last service.
