  1. I have an IS 200se Auto, choice was mainly due to the fact that I do a lot of motorway miles and inner city driving so, as someone has already quoted, I became lazy, however it is easy driving. I mean, I get on the motorway, set the cruise control to 70 (not that I ever exceed the limit!!! ) and kick off my shoes and get in the back, lie down, close my eyes, have a kip and then arrive safe and sound!!!! Seriously, the cruise control came as standard on the se auto, I also have a mate that bought the manual and said it was a pain in the arse when you accelerate out of a junction and then have to change halfway out due to the 6 speed box! Its a personal choice in the end. I got the auto cos it can be an old mans auto or you can hit the PWR button and keep the revs longer for some fun! albeit not as quick as the manuals or as good mpg, the decision... is yours!!! Hope that helps Billy
  2. I DID IT ! I painted my calipers red and they look GREAT !!!! Much to the disillusionment of my missus ... but hey.... she's a girl and doesnt understand !!! Thanks for the help chaps, now... who was it messaged me about caliper stickers.....
  3. Ok thanks for the sticker advice and all the feedback. Currently in London and wont be back in time for the meet. Always next time ! I will ensure I use 'Smooth' Hammerite.... gonna give the fluorescent green a miss though !!!
  4. WOW Im gob smacked with your responses... not because I have the right parts, but because a) I got a resaponse and B) everyone seems friendly !!!! Thanks for the invite to the get together, however I am already booked out that night. Wouldve been good though. Im gonna paint the calipers whilst I have the wheels off... I have read on the forums that Hammerite seems ok to use, however, where can I buy the caliper stickers from ??? Thanks Billy
  5. ***Extreme Newbie to the site so PLEASE go easy !!!*** I have recently purchased some new pads for all round my 02 plate is200se. I have read the instructions posted under the 'knowledge' section of the group and many thanks to those who have offered their advice. I have done many brake pads, disc, caliper etc changes on everything from a mini to a porsche in the past but want to make sure I aint gonna boo boo my precious lexus !!!! I opened the box of replacement parts today and to my surprise I have one box complete with what I class as 'normal' sized pads and a smaller box containing 4x 'small' or half size ?? pads ??? I havent yet dropped the wheels off so I may be asking a totally dumb Q here ... but do I have the right parts !!! Any help gratefully received Yours brakingly virginal !!! Billy
  6. I think there will be two issues you have here, firstly burn speed and secondly and most definately media type. Try anything 16x and lower... but if you really dont want to create shiny coffe cup coasters I would do 8x ... however I think your real issue is more one of data type. I ALWAYS use Verbatim WHITE top for my CDR **backup audio** discs !!!! They may cost 13p each instead of 6p but then again they work out cheaper if you aint burning 4 or 5 to get one lousy disc out ! I use a company on the web... www.cd-rmedia.co.uk and what they dont have in the way of media... isnt worth having !!! Hope that helps Billy
