  1. How do I reset the service spanner that flashes on start? The dealer never reset it after the service, after 3 months starting to annoy me
  2. The sequential mode only sets the max gear it can select. It's useful when wanting to hold a low gear for racing/over revving. It doesn't hard set a high gear, which is what we want. I tried ev off and on and sequential yesterday and it made no difference. It managed to climb the solid ice today okay, yesterday pure snow was ok, but compacted snow yesterday was what it failed at miserably yesterday Well, we can all forget about it for another 3 years if you are in the u.k
  3. Its a shame the sequential will not let you select a high gear like you do in a manual. We have been taking my wife's 2k honda civic, manual as the ES seems to be terrible with any sort of ice. Have 100s of cars going up my road all day long, no one is going to buy snow tyres and fit them for the 3 days of snow we get every 5 years. They should have a snow setting that puts the gearbox in to a high gear and lowers rpm, just like we drive the manual cars in snow to give it a chance. When I'm talking hill I'm talking the smallest of gradients
  4. Factory fitted, which I believe are mixed. Why do you ask, is this because there is no snow mode?
  5. Is there a snow/ice mode on the ES? Had to run my daughter to the doctors and car would not even move on incline ice. If it i got it to do anything it just slid. Trying to wade my way through the manual on myphone after our 30 min walk to the doctor, in the meantime any one?
  6. There is no clearence to move the wiper blade arm more than 50mm to replace them or move out the way to clean underneath. I can get to the left wiper by putting the hood up, but not the left. How on earth do we pull them up to remove the blades?
  7. Picked up my Lexus ES 2022 today. My first ever Lexus and I got a full tank of petrol and car mats. My salesman stated they always supply them full with a new car. Great customer service from start to finish from Lexus Reading. My faith in customer service has been restored after appalling experiences from Mazda and Mercedes.
  8. The dashcam powers itself down. Seems to be related to power.. I finally discovered If i turn the ignition on it seems to fix it. I.e if you want to use the wifi mode make sure the ignition is on.
  9. Mine was just installed by lexus reading. Has anyone used the camera viewer? After pressing the wifi button I can connect to the camera no issues, but for some reason it always shuts off again after about 30 seconds. This is enough time to scroll through the videos but not watch any or download them. It feels like this is some kind of weird "setting" I have tried various power on/off wifi on/off combinations and it's the same issue. Any one had the same thing ?
  10. I opted to pay for the SMART protection too, to atleast give me 3 years of piece of mind from any scratches in the car parks! I was looking at the other gtech options and I think I'll buy the products for the glass, leather and wheel protection and apply it myself as it's just an apply/buff off procedure and not very expensive. Will report back when the time comes.. i always hated cleaning the alloys!
  11. Thanks, found the nearest center is 'autowaxworks' in bicester about an hour away. Definitely like the look/sound of the Gtechnique serum ultra coatings - looks so much easier to wash and take care of (which is the main reason I was looking at it)
  12. Taking delivery of my 2022 ES soon, wondered if anyone had any trusted detailers around this area that it may be worth asking for a ceramic coating
  13. Ordered 31st October. Eta 23rd feb, asked for delivery 3rd march so I can get the 2022 plate. getting excited
  14. Ordered 31st october. ETA 23rd February
  15. I went ahead and ordered us a Lexus ES Premium in Sonic Grey with BLACK interior! Hoping this will be ready by April. Was really impressed on the test drive; I took a 2018 ES and a brand new ES base model for 1 hour each. Motorway 20 miles, speed bumps, side roads, pot holes etc to give it a proper test. I added in the GAP protection + SMART cover (since it's sonic grey, I decided this would be worth the 450ish over 3 years , as even one scrape is going to cost me that). I also added on the front + rear dashcams Decided against the sureguard protection in lieu of the scratch cover. Interested if any one has used any leather protection themselves, i.e something like the gtechniq lqab l1 guard? - i've got some scotchguard still in the garage that I bought for my mazda. I bought myself a tin of Collinite No476S to put on my new Mazda6 back in 2014 in lieu of the smartguard and never used it. Think i'll treat it to a coat of thiswax and try and keep on top of a polish + wax each year and clean it myself. Then after a few years if I am still in love maybe get a £500 detail to keep it topped up. What's everyone else doing ?
