  1. TTE dont make is200 side skirts do they? It would be modifications even if its dealer option.
  2. is a V5 document still required to buy new set of plates still? i got some new custom size ones still legal fonts My mate owning a accesory shop got some made up for me & i didnt require to show a copy. he got a number plate making facility.
  3. Concepts cars you see at motorshows & car magazines, what happens to them afterwards say after few yrs, 3 yrs, 10yrs etc? concept cars like the Honda SSM, basis for the S2000(i think), Toyota Funtime, basis for the Yaris & Mazda RX-01 & that Lexus cant remember the name that was in the film minority reports along with lot of other cars.... these cars are one offs and lot of them are basis of production cars on sale today. do they end up in a musuem or something or someone end up buying it as a collectors item. i always wonder.
  4. i got PIAA real white reverse lights, the bulbs are blue but very white when lit. would they fail? the lighting very white compared to OEM bulb
  5. just n oticed this thread! look OK not something i get or atleast not now, may of done few yrs ago well f&f style neon ones! if these are the latest craze (as f&f neon ones few yrs ago) then the saxo/fiesta boys all be buying them for the cars soon! as long as the car isnt too low i know lot of people that had neon lights but lot of them did have got them either damaged from car being lowered or water getting to it due to not well made!
  6. i do like the new BMW 6 series, seen a few now, Very nice indeed, mighty fine! cant see how anyone could diss it
  7. a insurance thread be useful considering there been alot of questions about insuring a IS200 & be useful for young drivers of where best to go/try & not to go & who insure u & who wouldnt & experiences etc..... lots of other forums like the celica club & subaru owners clubs etc have insurance threads that proved helpful.
  8. what happened to NZ lexusownersclub? seems to be dead for a while now & their gallery is gone.

    As200

& no reserve! thought these cars hold the value quite well. cheap price even for 90k miles!
  10. or just ask the company reccomendation. they should tell u whats legal or not, i shall think....being in the trade they know if they dont know, run.
  11. looked at the new Banzai today, saw a article with lots of MR2, it was the national meet for the MR2, there was over 1000 MR2 at that gathering & that was back in 2000 there trying to beat the record on their nxt meet. something like that i should think is an official meet. what is the likely chance of lexus owners club doing something like that? or perhaps not....
  12. my mate was looking at one of these last yr, insurance cost way too much so got an 1997 Impreza WRX STi instead, cheaper to insure! & wouldnt know where to start for modifications & body kits for this nissan silvia.
  13. saw one the other week,is a 1st generation GS300 it had the word 'legato' inside the middle of the rear reflector panel. was this such a model?
  14. yes infiniti, Nissan's lexus. the honda legend is Acura RL in US, honda's Lexus.
  15. i know where your coming from. yes is FWD so is Audi A4(dunno about A6)but A4 is up against likes of BMW 3Series & C-class...... as for avenisis being 'toyota' badge is selling very well, this car is more of family/ day to day car than executive/luxury of the likes of lexus. & the avensis is quite cheap to buy & well specified plus is locally built meaning cheaper insurance & parts i would if thought?? when i say would it be better if the ES300 was sold in europe than camry is due to name like people see lexus & think BMW/Mercedes rival but dont think that if they see toyota badge on it. like honda legend, is been on sale for long time but you see more GS300 than a honda legend & what happened to the nissan maxima?stopped selling now.
  16. saw this on the gallery on a IS200.think it looks cool.here what type of light bulbs are they? with the amount of blue is it legal?
  17. i notice that the ES300 isnt sold in europe, anyone know why?i seen few in uk as imports & seen lots in china few yrs ago. but i think they look very nice, i wouldnt mind one myself. i was told the toyota camry(same chassis as ES300) are not sold in UK now as it was not selling well, due to wrong image & wrong badge?? i.e.should have a lexus badge on it?? sometime wonder if they should bring the ES300 to europe/uk to replace the camry, what do you think.. someone was saying the IS200 or should i say lexus wont be where they are today if it had a toyota badge.personally i not bothered if is toyota/lexus badge is all same.....
  18. notice some owners got TRD side skirts on the IS200. are they discontinued or something? been looking at japanparts.com & takaikaira.com & even official TRD japan. TRD dont seem to list side skirts for IS200 on any of these sites, they only list the TRD front spoiler(looks different to the TRD ones some of you got), the front grille & the rear spoiler in terms of body styling! not even the rear bumper spoiler either! thanks
  19. they be no longer smiling when a JDM Aristo V300 derestricted to 400bhp zooms past it. ha ha!!
  20. non standard? it be 'non standard' in UK but OEM in us. i should do correct me if i wrong. why do u want a US IS300 bumper for a UK car anyway?
  21. seems lik lot of people with IS200 change them.are they are a weak point on these cars or something?
  22. can you??!! got stricter again!? is only last yr my mate got some alumnium pedals from asia with no rubber inserts still passed MOT!
  23. question: how bad is the damage? if s is not too bad then pay for it yourself save hassle/process from insurance to make cost go up unless u protected no claims?? obviously not from the other insurance (if any) by sound of it. from my experience as its car dealer body shop & VERY expensive(obviosuly no worry if is insurance work) dont mean its the best. not saying lexus is good or not. if your going elsewhere & paying for it then i look at their example of work on customer cars. thats what i did & well pleased with result of work carried out on my car when it was needed a while ago.
  24. being option in Europe is one thing but not being one in UK is another. therefore not recognised in lexus UK even though is is part of toyota/lexus company why so willing to get/enquire a supercharger from Lexus dealer anyway? even if lexus uk bought out some supercharged is200(not a clue if they did) so they can get replacement supercharger/parts & other bits for it etc.. still dont mean they can sell you it & may not be able to do anything about it. - from my days in UK i know someone that bougth a mazda 323f & he wanted some alloy wheels from a special edition mazda 323f but the car dealer refused/not allowed to sell them to him, some company policy/disclaimer regarding special edition cars, that only special edition car owners can buy it as a replacement. the body kit is an official option so they should sell/fit it for you. as for the supercharger if it not a official option they dont have to sell it to you. there not doing anything wrong by refusing it. unfortunate maybe.........
  25. nothing wrong owning a car like lexus is200 at 19/20. but the insurance wont be cheap at that age. im 23 now & when i was 19 i got a honda civic. even then people say 'like wow' never mind a lexus. some may say is down to jealousy but why would people want to spend lots of money on insurance for luxury or high perforamnce cars at ages like 18/19/20??? wouldnt u wait few yrs till your say 23-25 y/o that way your insurance be bit cheaper. mind you insuring a lexus at young age is nothing compared to some cars - i know someone that got a impreza sti special edition, called.....340 or somehting. age - 22, insurance £4k !why do these people bother??!! as for insurance for any cars i would pay more than £2k. even if it means waiting for it to go down.
