    Es300

sorry to post again. last note i posted as i was confident in replying but not so sure now so i wont nxt time?? but everything you said i/some people already know & is not really the answer to the original question, i mean yea sure you helped by saying the ecu cost £100-200. but lot already know some cars been flooded in japan etc..whats this gotta do wit the orignal question? did this person ask about that? as i stated o the previous post. yet again where did LHD es300 come from? apart from skperformance mentioning it. finally yes u can get RHD ES300 officially particular in hong kong as one some countries, seeing that u from hong kong you should know? as when you said your 'aware' meaning not so sure.......... sorry to go on, thats me finished now.

    Es300

well i replied on a basis of a suggestion, doen mean its correct but worth a try since the camry 3.0/Es300 uses lot of identical parts & very much the same perforamance figures?i mean i not a mechanic but obviously the body panels & interior is different right?. thats all. i was only trying to help. there was no need to say is not much use(another way of calling me useless but in 'nicer' terms) as if u dont appreciate it. oh yeah this subject is not about a LHD ES300 btw.

    Es300

cant believe no one (apart from skperformance) replied to this??!! come one whats wrong wit you lot eh?! thought this is a friendly forum? yeah as skperformance said its bit late to help wit your decision(hopefully u already picked up the ES300) as skperformance said is only badging. lot of aristo/altezza etc badges been repalced with lexus ones in uk....my mate also got a altezza but added a lexus emblem at hte back & the centre caps already got lexus badges on. as for ECU, well the ES300 is same chassis & engine as a camry, so source one of a camry 3.0??
  4. wonder how people match up one off custom flip paints that they claim are no longer made...........
  5. why did you choose electric seats for the altezza?
  6. who watched it? i thought it was a good game.
  7. just joined & got a lexus altezza. maybe go to it depends if is day time, need to get back early for work on monday as i live in Essex
  8. i been told red is hardest to match up/blend in. my old car is red(just red) that had most of it re sprayed for many reasons than a scratch.mismatch colour was one of them. lots of bodyshops i enquired to said to me red was the hardest to match up. one 'professional'(if u call it that) bodyshop even said they didnt want to know. . depends where u take it to really but where i took my last car they had no trouble matching red up :D unlike the previous 2 i took it to(bad experience) a way to seeing mismatch paint is at night under a lamp post & it does stand out i seen lots.
  9. blending in? difference in colour shade u mean? if so then i wont be happy. i had bad experience with my mazda in the past, the off side rear panel got hit by a transit & when i got it back from repairs the colour was noticeably different shade, just by lookign at it let alone certain conditions. 1 part slightly lighter than the other. i just looked round places looking at cars people worked on & found one place i never looked back since. i even take my current lexus there that is silver, had the front bumper re sprayed due to someone ramming a shopping trolley into it at Tesco & section of paint gone from where the cat got hit but now the colour is perfect in all conditions.
  10. where about is 'snow dome' in milton keynes? is it a shopping mall?

    2 Wires

yes is behind the blanking plate. so this mean simply plug & play......i surprised no other altezza owners here noticed them.

    2 Wires

yes everything works there & everything on the head unit, i know is nothing to do with the radio expander as i fitted that myself. these 2 wires are located behind l/h & r/h side of the panel & already been tied up. as for TRC switch. i thought the TRC only have 1 wire/plug by looking at the TRC switch on a UK is200.....
  13. thought is 1988 of the launch or is it japan. at the time the Celsior was also new model, mk1 like ls400. whats a griffin?? apart from saab 9000. the first soarer was in 1990ish, there been few previous soarers in japan before 1989 but back then it was'nt badge as lexus or even sold outside japan as the lexus name wasn't out yet.

    2 Wires

i ve an Altezza RS200 & found 2 wires that appear s to be unplugged. looks like its meant to plug in something like a switch or something. these wires are located behind(inside) the seat heater & traction control panel. this Altezza has no traction control or seat heaters by the way. just a blank panel. any ideas? thanks
  15. Did you know that the ES was the first Lexus to be released in the US? Know as the ES250 It was realeased in the late 80's and I spotted the first series here in Bournemouth too.. nice! good old ES250, i seen one on holiday in Beijing, China back in 1992 when i was a kid. i thought wow! is basically same car as the camry 2.5 GXi, my dad use to own one very smooth & quiet.
