  1. Is this warranty available even if you're not the original owner? If so, it would be a major selling point for cars with a full dealership service history.
  2. Hi Donkmeister, My second hand RX 400h has the premium in car entertainment system, but no remote control or headphones. I've ordered a set of those Xtron headphones, so thanks for sharing that information. I can see you've got a remote control. Do you happen to know the remote codes? Thanks,
  3. I also need the IR codes. Are there any owners with a working remote?
  4. I've been struggling with this too. I found the only thing that's worked is MPEG-2. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any Windows software to do the conversion - MPEG-2 seems to be pretty dead these days. I used Linux + ffmpeg to convert .mp4 to .mpg using the DVD PAL preset. Xvid encoding also played. The file size was smaller, but the video kept freezing.
  5. I have purchased a Nextbase front and rear dash cam. I received a quote of £180 for installation from a local company, which seems a bit steep. Does anybody have any experience of cable routing in an RX400H? Do the internal trim panels 'pop off' easily? For example the 'A Pillar' trim on each side of the windscreen? What about the panels between the front and rear doors? Is it easy to route the rear camera cable through the existing rubber cable hosing? Finally, what fuse should I use for power? I presume it should only come on when the ignition is on due to the known problems with 400H batteries and the constant power drain when parked? Thanks,
  6. I think I've successfully completed the procedure. For anybody else that may need to complete this after disconnecting the 12V battery: The power output dial didn't move when I had the car in 'drive' with a foot on brake and the accelerator to the floor. The display below the speedometer showed power going from the engine to the wheels, but the hybrid battery did fully charge. When I put the car in 'park' and tapped the accelerator, the engine ran at various speeds for around 2-3 minutes before shutting off. After starting the car again, it pulled away quite powerfully using the hybrid battery, which is something it's not done for a long time. Even in stop start traffic on level ground, it has been using the engine. I have disconnected the battery on numerous occasions and wasn't aware of the need for this procedure. Perhaps this is just a coincidence, but time will tell. Hopefully, it has been successful and I'll see the car pulling away using the hybrid a lot more from now on.
  7. Thanks for taking the time to find and share that information. I'll give it a go on Thursday after an hour's drive.
  8. Hi, I own a 2008 RX400H. I disconnected the battery when the car was off the road due to a catalytic converter theft. I've now read something about an ISC reset that's, apparently, required after disconnecting the battery? Does anybody know anything about this? Thanks
  9. I think I need a temporary fix for the Christmas period. I've been outside to measure up as best I can. Gap length = 430mm Outside diameter of one pipe = 55mm Outside diameter of other pipe = 60mm. Does anybody know if these are accurate diameters? Is the car built for the American market using imperial measurements? I'm having trouble finding a 60mm to 55mm reducer and am wondering if it is actually 2" 3/8 to 2" 1/8? Thanks.
  10. I had some strange behaviour from my RX400H which I think was due to a worn 12V battery (labelled as 'Toyota'). The dashboard lighting would flicker when I adjusted the brightness using the 'odometer dial'. I replaced it with a B32 Varta Blue Dynamic Car Battery 12V 45Ah. Cost was £63.96 inc VAT & delivery from Tanya Ltd. Be careful of using the suggestions based upon your registration plate. I initially purchased a Varta E23 and it was completely the wrong size.
  11. I've just had mine stolen from an RX400H in South West London (KT4). Thanks to everybody that has contributed to the thread. I think I'll go with the 'straight through pipe' option as a replacement and hope any future thieves don't slash my tyres out of spite when they realise they're leaving empty handed.
