Just seen an even cheaper one. £21,850 for an Astral Black one at Lexus Cardiff. 500 miles on the clock. As you say, probably a nS version with no extras. Still, a lot of car for the money!

Just seen one on autotrader for this price. Only 500ish miles from what I can remember. Can this be right? Would post a link to the dealer's site but not sure if im allowed. Anyway, quick search on autotrader and no doubt you will see it.

Durbs - what about a Honda Accord 2.4 Exec? these are really well spec'd (Sat Nav, xenons, Leather, elec heated seats etc) Great to drive too. I have the i-CTDi Executive. You could pick up a s/h M3 for 25K too... :) ← I went for a 51 plate M3 with FBMWSH, 1 owner, only 25k on the clock and immaulate for only £23.5k. And i get 343 horses under the bonnet! Was thinking about trading in my is200 for the new 250 but couldnt resist the M3 at that money

Speak to Lexus GB and tell them you are well pi**ed off and that you are getting nowhere with the dealer. As Neil says, that unit that they supplied one year ago should be fit for the purpose for which it was supplied and also of satisfactory quality. Obviously it wasnt. Demand a replacement or at worst a repair. Insist on it.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with what I was offered for pt/ex recently. Is200 Sport 2001 Y plate, black, FLSH and 89k on the clock. Autotrader, adjusting for the mileage, suggested about £7k. Managed to get BMW Glasgow up to £8.5k. Then again, I may not have been getting a great deal on the car I was looking to buy. Give with one hand, take with the other I guess...

Love the fact that this supposed avionics and "auto technition" cant even spell his (alleged) occupation. I wouldnt touch this with a barge pole. Something about endless bullsh*t that puts me off.

Nice car Chris. Just got me thinking. My Y plate Sport lip spoiler is suffering quite badly from the flaking paint that I belive has caused quite a few folk trouble. What spoiler is that you have? How easy to fit? Cost etc? I guess Lexus would only be prepared to fix the one I have so if its not too much work then I may go for the one you have. Cheers.

one of the joys of the "freedom of information act" ?? £10 is the standard charge for info that is requested that is held under data protection act. ← I have done this before. From what I remember there is a form that you need to fill out. Give them a call and they will fax it to you. You also need a valid reason for requesting the info. Im sure you will think of something... Given the nature of these guys employment, I think its likely the car they were using is knocked off too.

Hi m8, have to agree and say a little overpriced. Mine is a 01 (Y) plate, astral black sport. Got it in October with 77k on the clock,FLSH and excellent condition for £9750. No sat nav either though.

I would say the price Glasgow have quoted you is a joke. They dont even do it themselves, they use a third party. I thought about £45 a corner was the going rate. Ask them where they are sending it to get the work done and just approach them yourself. They actually told me who the third party was but Ive forgotten (sorry!). I had mine done because they scuffed 3 of my alloys when getting tyres changed. You should be aware that you will lose the chrome finish (i think). Well i did anyway. Dont get me wrong though, still a very good job.

Excuse my ignorance folks! I have seen this device mentioned in quite a few posts now. What is it? How much does it cost and what are the benefits, if any?

Both my headlamps suffer from this although I never really thought much about it. Is it a major problem. ie It doesnt really bother me so is there any need to get it fixed?

Just been looking at the Road Traffic Bill and im not so sure anymore! s17(1) makes "speed assessment equipment detection devices" illegal. A "speed assessment equipment detection device" is defined as "a device the purpose, or one of the purposes, of which is to detect, or interfere with the operation of, equipment used to assess the speed of motor vehicles.” I would have thought the Road Angel falls within that definition. It certainly does "detect.....equipment used to assess the speed of motor vehicles". The GPS "detects" the fixed cameras etc and the laser sensor also "detects" mobile laser guns etc. Now im confused, as I had certainly read somewhere recently that GPS type detectors were to remain legal. Seems to me though that there is no provision for this in the proposed Bill. Anyone know for sure?

I bought my IS200 from The Car Megastore on Penistone Road in Sheffield. When i first looked at the car the alloys were in a real bad state, possibly the worst I had seen. As part of the deal I got them to refurb all the alloys before I collected it a week later. The salesman said that they knew a real good place "behind Hillsborough" and that they would arrange to get them done there. Couldnt believe the transformation when I picked it up. As good as new I would say. Sorry i dont know the name of the place, but if you give the garage a ring im sure they will put you in touch. From what the salesman said to me, they use that place all the time. Expect to pay about £50 each wheel i think.

Im in a similar situation. Paint on the rear spoiler has flaked off leaving an area the size of a 5p piece with the silver undercoat showing (i presume). Is the Lexus touch up paint suitable for a 'scratch' of this size?

Going to Halfords after work today to get one of these fitted (hopefully). Spoke to the fitter who said he hasnt put one in an IS before so he wants to have a look at it first. I want it hardwired ie no wires flapping about/using the cigarete lighter!! Anyone got one fitted or know if there are likely to be any difficulties with fitting? Also, are they any good?!! Very unlucky m8. Same thing happened to my girlfriend although luckily she just went off the road and into a fence, so not much damage. Not sure if you can look into claiming your uninsured losses from the council.

Have a look at the used cars on the Lexus site, may make you feel a bit better when you see what they are going for there. I paid £9750 for a Y plate IS200 Sport with FLSH and 79k on the clock from a private dealer in September. Was looking at Parkers online today and its giving me a private sale figure of £7800 (84k on the clock now). Not ideal! To my amazement, Lexus Coventry are advertising a V plate Sport with 86k on the clock (same colour, black, aswell) for £12,500. Are they having a laugh?!! Im sure I would get more than £7,800 in a private sale. Dont really trust the parkers figure. Any thoughts?

I have a Y (01) plate 200 Sport. Never really bothered me before but the boot release button on the key has never worked for me. Door lock/unlock buttons are fine. Anyone else got the same problem or any ideas whats causing this or if its easy to fix? Thanks in advance guys.

Just out of interest m8, would you say there has been any noticeable change in performance compared to when it was new?

Called Lexus Glasgow last week and was quoted approx £50 for supply of set of 4 Mudflaps and approx £155 for sipply and fit. Now I have never held a spanner/screwdriver in my life and was wondering whether I would be capable of fitting these myself or is it best left to the guys at Lexus? Thanks in advance.
