  1. Oh just to clarify, this wasn't the lexus garage it was a different franchise of Arnold Clark
  2. Essentially no-one was really willing to look at it until I was 21. Managed to find tesco who would insure it under my dad's name for £1k however the issue would still stand that I am paying £770 for my Astra, which I would need to keep in order to build my no-claims bonus. Ordinarily I wouldn't be too fussed about the £1k but when its in addition to what I am currently paying then I have to draw a line.
  3. Cheers for the help guys, Shame I couldn't get a reasonable price for insurance otherwise would have bought it.
  4. Hrmf, not impressed face.... Messed around by Arnold Clark, girl said they would do insurance, the guy I saw yesterday said they couldn't.... Ahh well they both lost a sale, such as life!
  5. Hi, I'm looking for help, a local dealer has a cracking GS300 in stock and is offering a damn fine deal to me! Its an X reg SE with 95k as far as I know it has been serviced by a lexus main dealer all of its life and has only been chewing up motorway. What should I look out for if I go back for a thorough viewing tomorrow? All help appreciated, Cheers Ewan
  6. Hey, Guess this the first post here! anyway, am thinking of getting an IS200 would buy an IS300 however insurance is quite a bit more expensive. but got a couple of Qs.... What would I expect to pay for say a 2000/1 IS 200 SE/Sport with reasonably low mileage? What would people recommend? I said I'd never buy a car without cruise control but, how much of a difference is there between the manual and automatic models? Finally, the $64,000 question....would an IS300 be worth the extra expense in purchasing and insurance? Cheers Ewan
