  1. Hi all

Please can someone help with any ideas.

I've purchased a new version disc and tried to upload it and getting an error of "Cannot read data" (bought of eBay so possible copy).

I tried to install the previous one I have 2006 disc which never give me a problem and has worked perfect since install around 7 years ago. This is now saying "No disc/Cannot read data"

If the eBay disc tried to load new firmware would it stop my old 2006 disc from working ? Any ideas what would be the problem . Would getting a Disc from Lexus sort this out ?

    Thanks in advance

    Nigel

  3. do the exsist

Yes they do exist, there is a new one just out. Ask your dealer, he should be able to find out more about it.

Lexus UK seem to keep to want to keep it a secret that updated navigation CD's and DVD's actuallyy exist.

Yes but as far as i know the uk disxc doesn't cover the republic of Ireland.

Have a look at http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/ and see if it is suitable.

Has any one on here bought a dvd from www.lexus-mapupdates.eu .. I've ordered one but when doing so the number that was on my excisting dvd came up on the order ..have to wait and see what happins..

  5. Hi Folks,

Just bought on of these car kits for my RX , it comes with ISO connectors and I know the rx does not have any of these.

If anybody has fitted one of these car kits to their RX could they let me know if I need any extra bits and pieces to get this bady working.

Any info or help would be great.

I've read on a thread that the grey wire in the middle of the biggest connector is the mute wire , think I'm right in saying this

I also see that its best to fit an external speaker instead of using the car speakers. If this is the case were do I connected it to the Parrot

    Questions, Questions. !!

    Cheers for now,

    Nigel

Many thanks, how do I actually replace it, not sure where the head unit is.

    Chris

Its in the boot just pop up the back covering were the wheel brace is and on your right hand side as you look in you will see a black panel you open and a nav unit is in there,

I can take a photo later on if you have problems finding it and I'll post it on here for you.

    Hope this helps..

  7. Been asked a question which I hope someone can answer for me?

Relatives had a GS 300 SE 2002 model with SAT NAV and they bought the upgraded DVD which is 2004 / 2005 V2 for it. I've tried this disc in a friends IS 200 2004 model and it works fine - also works fine in my 03 GS430 sport.

They are looking to upgrade to an RX 300 SE-L registered in July 2003.  Anyone know if this disc will work in it?

    Many thanks

    The answer is YES..

Had bought v2 2004/5 disc for my GS and only had it installed about 3 weeks when I was hit from behind by a Toyota rav4 and ended with the car wrote off :tsktsk:

Anyway cutting a long story short I now have got myself a june 03 RX se/nav and the disc works 100%.

    Great vehicle by the way.

  9. were does one go about getting one of these for to protect the rear bumper,

    Bumper pic

Is this the same thing

    Rear Bumper Protection Film..................................PZ438-K2180-00

    Nigel

Thats my car in the picture.

The rear protector in the pic is actually for a Mk1 Rx300, however when I purchased it from Lexus Brighton, it was the only protector available for the rear bumper and they told me it was actually the correct one for the Mk2!

I fitted it myself in about 30mins. It is a very easy job and comes with excellent diagram and instructions and is basically backed with self adhesive tape which simply makes it stick to the bumpers surface.

I have seen many Mk2 Rx300 fitted with this and IMHO I think it looks better than the black rubber one which is available and fitted to the Rx 400 as std.

This is not the clear film protector to which you refer. I originally had this fitted by the dealer, but it was such a bad fit and looked awful that they removed it again and didn't charge me for the part or their efforts, which is why i ended up with the protector you see in the picture.

Hope this helps. I can dig up the part no if you require it and it cost me if I remember £180.

    Regards

    RxMike. :)

    Thanks RxMike,

I've done a bit of searching and found photos on this thread

    http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...mper++protector

Part No is T08475-48803 CORNER BUMPER PROTECTOR

My Rx is the same colour as yours and I think the mk1 version will look alot better than the mk2 (rubber) one.

    Thanks for the info

    Nigel
