  1. I got a Westafalia detachable towbar from Towequipe (www.towequipe.com) and got a single electrics kit from Lexus Aberdeen - installation was a doddle, audible alarm is fitted in the luggage area with the relays. No dashboard light. Cost of towbar £300 cost of electrics ~£60 fitting one man, one day
  2. Mine does the same, has done since around a year old. It has always started though.
  3. Check if you have coins in the tub - this drove me mad for weeks until I sussed it out
  4. There is an SEL badge on the top of the glove box when opened also.
  5. Mk1 towbar is not compatible - I have just fitted a westfalia unit from towequipe dot com - great price - good tech support also - unit fits really well with no bumper cut also - bravado only went part way though - bought the wiring kit from Lexus Aberdeen - easy to install but lots of trim to come off down passenger side due to wiring back to relay box.
  6. Like the look of the Spike Spyders - do you use 2 or 4 on your RX ?? Like the look of the Spike Spyders - do you use 2 or 4 on your RX ??
  7. I found this improvement when trying to reduce the dreaded "lurch". This was based upon a recommendation from one of our US members. It has worked for me in terms of better consumption and a reduction in the "lurch" effect.
  8. Note the difference between the Mk1 & 2 - last I heard Towsure hadn't finished the approvals for the MK2 yet. OOps - sorry you do have the Mk1
  9. I've been following this thread with great interest as I to have been fed up with this lurching since last year. Out of interest I have filled my last two fills with Super Unleaded and have found a great difference in reduction of the lurching - even in normal auto - I have also noticed an improvement in fuel consumption averaging 24-25 mpg - still not fully convinced but shall keep monitoring - shall be intersted in hearing if anyone else has tried this ??
  10. Would love to - I'm totally fed up with coming out of a really tight corner or a rolling junction or entering a roundabout rolling and getting the dreaded lag, I fell my body moving forward as if to compensate. - I love the car but this is the only part which feels unsafe
  11. Had the brake recall work done last week at Lexus Aberdeen, got the full works including Valet, Champagne and a completely full tank of fuel. Well impressed....
  12. Washer for the rear view camera, (it's an automatic reaction now whenever passing to clean the lens!!)
  13. Thanks for ressurecting this one - still looking. Maria, this sounds like one for the mark 1 and will not suit mine but thanks for the info. Lexusjohn, what type is it (Witter, Towsure etc), would they be able to ship one to Aberdeen for fitting, could you PM me with their contact details.
  14. Thanks for that. I'm in Norway just now and also have snow & ice. Don't recognise the manufacturer so I may be able to get them here and ship them back to UK. Many thanks
  15. That time of year again and the white stuff's arrived. Typically away from home just now and my wife has tried to get winter tyres for our SEL only to find that they are pretty rare in the wheel size fitted. Has anyone come across winter tyres for Lexus 18" 235 wheels or if new wheels are required what would be best size to go for. We live pretty remote and although handling and ETC is really good it is only as good as the "shoes" its wearing.
