  1. Hi all! I have a 2000 Lexus GS430 Sport (silver with black leather) which I have owned for the last 11 years but it never really use it and am thinking of selling. It has 120k on the clock and it's done 14k in the last 11 years and just under 5000 in the last 7 years. I don't have much recent service history, everything works except for the heather which works intermittently. Bodywork is tidy with a few age related marks. I would be happy to know what you think it might be worth and it anyone may be interested in purchasing before I put it on Autotrader. If you need any more info please let me know. Thanks in advance.
  2. All sorted - took a little longer than expected but £50 it's now working perfectly.
  3. Thanks for your suggestions - unfortunately none of them worked, had a local mechanic to have a look at it and it transpired that a return spring the the nclosing mechanism has stretched - he is mgoing to shoten it so that it will work again - he said it woud be about a 1hr job and ite geting sorted on Monday.
  4. Hi - I have a 2001 GS430 Sport and after charging the battery yesterday, the bonnet won't stay closed. It looks like the bonnet release cable has either stretched or has got stuck as the release handle won't go back in place - anyone else ever come across this or got any suggestions????
  5. Got it Sorted - Very Quick Fix. Just found some older posts on this and did the Yaw Sensor Recalibration as referred to here: - http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls430/329133-check-vsc-vsc-off.html Oh the joy of the internet !!
  6. Hi Guys - Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on this. My car was picked uo by the garage (non-Lexus) for a full service. On getting the car back and reversing out of the garage, the VSC and VSC Off lights came on effectively disabling the Vehicle Stability Control. I turned off the ignition, turned it on again and they went out. Started to move off again and they came on. They stay on all the time until the ignition is turned off. Turn it on again and the go out as usual until the car starts to move. Now everything was working ok when the car was picked up for the service. The car had a full service and a new battery fitted. Took the car back as the mechanic said that it could be something stuck to one of the wheen sensors - the wheels were taken off again, cleaned and put back on but the problem still pesists. Any ideas??? Lexus 430 Sport (2001).
  7. All Sorted - turned out that it was just some plug or other that they forgot to connect :D
  8. talked to garage this morning - they apologised and are picking the casr up on Monday - I just thought if anyone knew if it was just a simple case of pulling the fuse or something
  9. I have just received my car back from a major service - when I start it up I get a message on the screen that says "CHECK AIR CONDITIONER" and there is no cold air. When I select the "Climate" screen the A/C indicator flashes. I have had a look through the owners manual and a few posts on LOC without sucess - any ideas would be appreciated. If this helps it was the 100k service with cambelt change so I assume they would have had to fiddle with the AirCon at somestage to remove belt.
  10. I've just had my lower ball joints and suspension bushes replaced - the car feels like new. Total cost through local garage £272 (including 2 hrs labour). 60% recovered from warranty (Click4Warranty) which covers wear & tear to car providing it has FSH. I'm asking the garage what (it anything) needs doing next.
  11. more pics - can seem to add the all together - if anyone wants the whole set please PM me and I will send by email or upload somewhere else
  12. I'm #5 - I have a GS430 Sport with tints and black interior - unsure what percentage tint but i'll post some pice at the weekend - :winky:
  13. Many thanks. I have removed my SatNav unit (as per Osaka's instructions on another poisting) but no joy - no loose connections or plugs. I have noticed another retro-fit switch on the dash (I will attach a picture later). When the car ignition is on and I hit the switch the SatMav screen goes to some kind of test card??????? and ideas? Could this be something to do with the DVD player screens that are fitted into the reare headrests? The mystery continues.
  14. I have recently purchased a GS430 Sport (2001) and have noticed that when driving over bumps (inclusing speed strips) the Sat Nav screen flickers. It doesn't reset or effect anything that is going on on the screen. My last GS never did this - the last one being a CD based system. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how can it be resolved - it's really annoying on a car which has no other faults of note. Your help is appreaciated.
  15. Didn't win anything unfortunately (just my luck) but did get a really sickening feeling in my stomach (....and in my wallett!!!!)
  16. On the way to work this morning when something under the bonnet began to squeek & squeel like a trapped cat - I thought I would drive a little further, stop and take a look then all of a sudden the dashboard lit up like a fruit machine and started beeping. The lights that let up were as follows: - "VSC" "VSC Off", "ABS" and the red warning light. Car was driving fine no problems - drove the 2 miles home and left the car for 10 mins. Went back to it and everything is fine - before I call Lexus does anyone have any ideas on the problem???? BTW GS300 MkII 1998
  17. info@immortgage.co.uk Just wondering where I can get hold of a Sports Grill for Mk 2 GS300 (in green) without paying silly prices? Any ideas or info greatly appreciated
  18. Finally sorted - Rodders was spot-on - wheels balanced by Lexus - £30.00 - now got 100mph lounge on wheels (infact it's far nicer than my lounge)
  19. ***UPDATE*** - had no furher joy at local tyre/wheel places - managed to get the car to Lexus (Chester) - quick test drive - Tony told me that is was definately the wheel balancing - car booked in for full balance on Saturday - can't wait for the results and will update then. By the way - wobble disappears at about 90+
  20. Thanks for all the responses so far - a friend of mine has mentioned Demon Tweeks (Wrexham) who will do a "proper job" of balancing the wheels - anyone had any experience of them ????
