  1. OEM never fitted, never used but have been de-painted and powder coated.

They were my 'winter spares' for my IS 250 Supersport - which sadly I had to let go as she was not practical for ferrying disabled/elderly family to and from hospital. I kept them in case I ever purchased another IS250. My mother-in-law (84) and auntie-in-law (89) are still hanging in there. It's a shame to see them sat there doing nothing.

When you look at the price of OEM then these are a bargain, especially if you look after them as they will not go the same way as paint & lacquered finish they are 100% powder coated and baked by a professional provider. I am an old school City & Guilds qualified tech and I don't mess about when it comes to getting a quality job done!

Buyer is to collect or arrange courier. The price is non-negotiable given I paid for them brand new! The money will go to buy electrical tools which will be used on community projects such as making new solid wooden gates for the vulnerable or custom items due to disabilities which I found there to be a need of as an Emergency Medical Responder during the pandemic.

I hope they can go to a good home.

    So what's the asking price?

Price - £500.00 (all four wheels @£125 ea.)

Payment Method - I can take a credit card but there will be a additional 2% processing fee.  Cash on collection is preferred.

Additional Fees (non-collection) price will increase in terms of packing and in addition any courier fees.

Private Delivery - within 100 miles radius at 0.59p per mile from DN36 or WF13 Postcode (depending on which week due to work etc)

Terms: Payment must be made and cleared prior to release of the wheels. No payment, no wheels - simples.

Enquiries via my private messaging. I will responding within 48 hours (due to work commitments) if not within 24 hours.

Hi Steve, I understand your frustration with the position you find yourself in. I have already sent Steve an email asking him to contact you. If you haven't heard anything in the next 24 hrs get back to me. Regards Mike.

    Hi Mike

Indeed, having only seen this for the first time... Steve has indeed emailed me on this issue. Once again, thank you for your interaction.

    Hi Mike

On this occasion I will be available to follow this up, if I have not been contacted by Steve. I will update this post accordingly.

    Regards

Hi Steve, I was the Admin who said I would report it to Steve. I never heard anything else from you untill today. Had you of said that you still haven't heard from Steve I would have got back to Steve immediately as I will now.

Hi Mike ... I appreciate your interaction on this post - yet again, thank you.

However, this should not require you to have to effectively remind or chase Steve to deal with this issue, regardless of the time frame, it should have been dealt with. It is the responsibility of the site owner - Steve - to deal with matters expediently as they are brought to his attention, not simply disregarded or forgotten about. Members have a degrees of expectation and for the site to deliver what it promises, not to have to chase them, regardless of time frame.  That is just my opinion perhaps, none the less, I feel it has validity.

  5. Herbie... just to demonstrate a point. I was told that I would be given access to everything that a Gold Member has, plus additional benefits when they were organised, including a Platinum Membership as the Platinum Membership would be developed, same as that of Gold Membership... So I took these screen snips less than 10 minutes ago; I get this response on every discount and I certainly have never been sent a Halfords Discount Card... a picture paints a thousand words, here's three.

Now time to return to the real life outside of the internet and before I sustain a coronary from excessive posting... Have a great day 'Herbie'.

Seems to me that you've only made 10 posts in two years.

Admin and mods should have gotten their fingers out, fair enough, but I would suggest that you could have reminded them about the situation rather more than you have, so it's not all their fault.

Got to be honest and say that I didn't even know that 'Platinum Membership' even existed, not that I would have had it, mind.

Firstly 'Herbie', not everyone lives their life on the internet. Perhaps my work and social life does not give graciously to post, say, compared to that of your goodself?

Secondly, i'll extract the part where you say, and I quote "it's not all their fault" ...
a: Then whose fault is it when a member pays for a 15 year membership and has reasonable expectations that the site will deliver on it's promises?
b: Given your stated opinion; It's ok for them to take my money and give me a 'title' but yet do not send on the benefits awarded other members who haven't supported this site?

My final point is that a member of 'Staff' has also brought this post to the attention of 'Steve', yet, no communication from him, either through this site or via direct email.
It makes no difference how many times a person should post or over what period of time, there is a degree of expectation in that I should be afforded the same courtesy of services and discounts afforded other members.

Like I said, I paid a considerable amount to support this site. Professionalism and customer service costs nothing.

  7. ... and nearly two years down the line.... no comment or response from this 'Steve', as claimed to have been alerted to my post.

I may not contribute in posts, but I paid a considerable amount to obtain a Platinum Membership and for what.... I certainly haven't managed to obtain any discounts being a member. I was informed that a 'Gold Card' would be sent... Gold? Bit of an insult considering the fee paid was in the the three figures. One thing is for sure, I will not be renewing or supporting.

  8. Since I joined as a platinum member many years ago. I still notice after all these years that Platinum Cards were never produced? Why not considering the amount paid in membership fees? Secondly, Discount Cards? How is it when (for the first time) I come to use my card am I told that my card is fake and that it should have a bar code on it and have a logo such as Halfords on it? Finally, why am I considered to be a new member when ive been a member since 2004?

If new cards were issued then why was I not sent one? To say I'm not impressed considering it was a triple figured membership fee is an understatement.

Clearly this needs to be put right by the Club's owner and a good explanation as to why it happened in the first place?

I look forward to the Club's response by return.

  9. did anyone get an update on this, i got the same error yesterday

Ok.. having read all the comments, here's my version.. brand new 09 plate 250 SS VSC warning light comes on.. traction control fails throwing car into spin and no reduced speed.. speed at the time was approx 50 mph going round a long sweeping bend off the M180 towards Doncaster (UK for those that don't know).. I took mine back to the dealer and was informed that it was a throttle body fault and that the dealers were aware but the manufacturers were not sure as to how many vehicles this would actually effect and did not warrant a call back.. ahem!.. I'm a City & Guilds Level 4 Advanced qualified vehicle tech.. (retired) and if that was a fault that was common place I would have thought it in Lexus best interest to recall, however, I was assured that was what had caused the multi faults as it was part of the engine management system. That I can concur with as it's part of the mapping and as such if one fault occurs it's like the domino effect.

I would suggest that you take your vehicle back to the place where you bought it and ask them to do a Dealer Part Recall Search and see if your part qualifies. As you are probably out of warranty this may not be the case for you, however, you can ask for a deal on the replacement part/fitting.. the fitting takes no more than 30 mins and they make you a coffee whilst you wait.. also ask to see the part before and after fitting. Outof choice.. I'd get free labour and VAT on the part only and do it before 1st Jan as the VAT goes back up

    ***UPDATE***

I have had a few messages asking my assistance. The short answer is I took my IS250 Supersprt back to the dealer.. they replaced the throttle body within 30 mins and I was back on the road and even got a free valet... I have not had one issue since except when I have deliberatley thrown the vehicle out of stability to see the reaction and test the electronics against a UK Police IS-F - I am a Police Trained Advanced Driver so I would not recommened anyone testing their vehicle on a public highway. Since the replacement part has been fitted I have had no issues with the VSC Control and even in the heavy snows and minus 17 - 25 temperatures of late when the traction has been lost due to black ice, the snow control has compensated and taken corrective measures through the engine management system and handled the car perfectly; which is great when there are clients in the rear of the vehicle.

Don't forget.. if it is not covered by warranty then you will pay 20% V.A.T from Jan 4th 2011... so soonest mendest and drive your vehicle responsibly and safely.. it is far cheaper replacing a throttle body than a Catalytic Convertor and the dealers should all be aware of this problem.

    be safe
