  1. After hearing about the BBC Watchdog program on the CANBUS thefts and the subsequent reply from Lexus regarding it, I emailed Lexus Canterbury the details and here is their reply which looks more promising. Thank you for your email enquiry. We are currently awaiting Lexus to release the technical information to us by the end of April 2024 for all models affected. As it stands currently, we are only able to carry this out on Lexus RX’s until we have the technical information next month. If I can assist with anything in the meantime, please just let me know.
  2. I am thinking of doing the same as Motorway give me an estimate of around £29,797, for mine and my last settlement figure a couple of months ago was around £29,000, so it is now starting to look manageable at last to be able to clear my PCP deal and walk away from Lexus.
  3. It was what I assumed looking at their terms & conditions, but that does not arise now as I am staying with them for hopefully more than 1 year, but who knows what the future will bring.
  4. UPDATE Just had an email today from Adrian Flux with a renewal quote of £730.76, so I phoned them to find what on earth was going on. I explained that I phoned yesterday to see what my renewal quote was going to be, as I had checked on Go.Compere for prices, and I was told it was £1200+ so he set it to cancel as I was not prepared to pay that price, and now today one day later, I receive this cheaper renewal quote, which was actually generated the day before I phoned, so it should have been on their system. The advisor tried to get LV to honour the renewal price, but they would not come down, so I was told incorrect info which cannot now be corrected, through no fault of mine. I will get my own back though when my home insurance is due shortly, also with LV, so they can go and whistle. If they had honoured it, it still would have cost me £60 to cancel the other policy, but I would still had saved at least some money. TOTALLY CHEESED OFF. Colin
  5. No, telematics is a device or app to monitor your driving habits and tendencies, which they can monitor.
  6. I had 1 lower quote of £694 but that was for a telematic policy as well, and I have been driving for 59 years after passing my test first time when I was 17, absolutely ridiculous.
  7. I did a Go-Compare for my insurance which is due in 21 days and my cheapest quote was £869 from iGO4, when my current insurance from LV via Adrian flux was £582 last year, a 49% increase, but this year they said the cheapest quote they could get was over £1200, which would have been over 100% increase. So goodbye to Adrian Flux who I have been with for several years, insuring 3 previous Jaguar's with them. There was no change in circumstances, in fact I even reduced my mileage from 6000 miles to 5000 miles as I only did around 3000 in my current year. I have now decided that my ES300h is going to go sometime later this year, when the cost of getting out of my PCP deal is manageable, due to all the recent thefts being reported, resulting in ridiculous high insurance quotes and the TOTAL LACK of interest from Lexus on the matter. So this is my first and it will be the last Lexus I will have ever have. I will buy a smaller non EV car which will be cheaper to insure and purchase outright, to see me through my remaining few years of driving, before hanging up my keys. Colin
  8. If my ES ever gets stolen and not recovered it will get me out of my PCP deal as I have the GAP cover, so I will not lose out financially, apart from increased insurance costs on a non Lexus model unless I give up driving altogether, because I am in my mid seventies and do not enjoy driving as much as used to, might be time to call it a day.
  9. I bought my ES around the same time as you did, and I am getting very concerned regarding the theft situation along with the recent hike in insurance rates. The dealer I purchased it from Lexus Maidstone has now been dropped by Lexus and I am now have to use Lexus Canterbury, a lot further away. I was never really happy in Lexus Maidstone anyway. I am on a 4year PCP deal and I have looked at selling it on CarWow but there is a considerable loss to be made. I did have an offer on a new Dacia Sandero (less desirable to thieves and cheaper to buy) with a loss of about £2000. I will make my decision at the end of January when my insurance runs out and if it increases too high, then decision made. I have never really bonded with the ES300, and wish I just kept with my Jaguar XE which would have been out of its PCP deal by now and I could have just returned it, if the insurance was too high.
  10. Mine updated also without any problems. I had both installed previously, but after the update to Lexus Link+, the old version if selected, stated it has been updated to the Link+ version and will now not work, so I just uninstalled it.
  11. I have one in ice ecru but with the light interior and I also have not seen one on the road at all.
  12. I too had had the service plan from Lexus Maidstone and when I had to go to Steven Eagel in Canterbury as my next nearest dealership and gave my details, they confirmed my service plan.
  13. I have just had an email from Lexus Maidstone to say that they closed down on the 30th of June. I now have to go to Lexus Canterbury which is a lot further now, and I am not very happy at all. I wish I kept my Jaguar XE, as I had a lot of problems with Lexus Maidstone on ordering my Lexus in the first place and now I have to start all over again with another unknown dealership.
  14. I have just tried the online recall checker again and still nothing.
  15. I have not had the recall yet and I have checked online and there was nothing there, very strange, as I have the same car as some of you, the ES300h Premium edition 2022.
  16. My previous car was a Jaguar XE (MY20) PS250 and do miss it at times and like you the zf 8 speed box was brilliant. The quality in the cabins of both are very similar but the ES has much more comfortable seats, but the Jaguar did have real leather seats, but the connectivity and navigation was far better in the Jag. I too made I the decision to sacrifice this for simply the reason of reliability and the relax warranty which is what you stated as nothing comes close does it, as well as supply issues with Jaguar.
  17. I have now eventually solved the audio volume problem and the android auto problem. I uninstalled android auto on my mobile which took out Lexus as the last used device and then reinstalled. I then found the preferred option on the ES was set to Lexus but when my mobile was plugged in, I had other options including android auto and from that I could either select Google maps or TomTom AmiGo, although they both appeared to be a smaller screen rather than the full screen on the Lexus option. The audio problem was that the voice playback setting was too low. I do not know how I managed to miss that, I suppose I just assumed the steering wheel control should have done that rather than delving into system settings, that's the problem of trying to do things in a hurry and getting very frustrated in the process.
  18. This weekend my ES was too have its first long distance drive. I turned on Mobile Hotspot and Bluetooth tethering on my mobile, a Samsung Galaxy S10+. I plugged it into the car and up came a message whether to make it a default or something later, so I chose to do try it later as I wanted to try out the default Lexus option first. The first problem I had was in the route selection as it timed out in a couple of seconds while I was trying to see what route to select. Another problem was I could find no way of increasing the volume as it was way too soft to hear it clearly over the noise of traffic etc, the volume controls on the steering wheel had no effect at all and I could find nothing in the settings to change it. On my way around the M25 in terrible driving conditions with the rain lashing down, the navigation was continually trying to make me turn off the route I had selected, but it seemed to be OK when I got on to the M40. I think it is the worst sat nav system I have ever had, I thought the Jaguar system was bad but this is far worse. I have always preferred the TomTom system software as the best. I decided on my return journey to use android auto and use either my TomTom AmiGo or Google which I had installed on my mobile but when I plugged it in with the USB cable which had recognised it previously, now decided to not show the android auto option at all and nothing I could change in the system would display it. So what am I doing wrong, can anyone help me or will I have to go to the my dealer to sort it out. Disregarding this problem the ES was a joy to drive on my return journey with the adaptive cruise control and lane centering which was all very new to me and it achieved 55mpg cruising at 70mph for most of the journey.
  19. I get exactly the same on my ES300h purchased in September (MY22). I have a friend who is a salesman at the Lexus dealership I purchased it from and he has an ES300h company car, so I will ask him.
  20. It was definitely FREE for me
  21. I got a full tank Lexus Maidstone
  22. I do on my android mobile, a Samsung Galaxy S10+.
  23. Thanks, as I was a bit disappointed because with all my last 4 cars, 3 Jags and a Vauxhall I always go something, especially as I paid full price for it, and I could have gone elsewhere as I had several CarWow offers with substantial discounts, but I wanted to buy locally.
  24. I had exactly the same problems with my dealer with me doing all the chasing and as you say a very frustrating process. I will put some photos up shortly after I give it a clean as I picked it up when it was raining, so is just a little mucky. I have just heard from Lexus Ipswitch (CarWow) that there is price increase coming on the 4th of October, advising to me order early to lock in the current price, but I told them I had just collected mine yesterday from Lexus Maidstone.
  25. I know that Jaguars seem to have a poor reputation for reliability roughly in the middle of the various stats, but my last three cars all Jaguars have all been very reliable and have never let me down once, hence my umbrella has not even been used.
