  1. Try Admiral, we got a very sensible 3 month quote for Takumi spec. (to match the end date of my LC with Admiral). Time will tell what we get for both cars together on our renewal date at end of June.
  2. Six month ownership and 4k miles on and we still love it😀
  3. Update on lights, dealership said that the lights don't require adjusting. Regarding parking, my intention is to only stay in hotels with private parking and be pretty anal regarding parking in towns.
  4. I have just applied for one. Lets see if it arrives on time and whether I have filled the form in correctly! now to call my dealership re headlights and bulbs!
  5. All great stuff, thanks. We are not planning on visiting any cities requiring Critair, I don't think but will check and I think just one session on the autoroute. Planning cross country down through the Loire and down to the SE corner. High viz and triangle I have already and I think I have worked out how to switch off the automatic main beam adjuster, although in practise, night driving should be minimal. Thanks again.
  6. Good idea, nothing magnetic at the rear. Just tested it with an old GB magnetic sticker which fell off wherever I tried to put it. Just going to Spain for a day with little driving, just a mile from the border, so I'll place a GB sticker against the rear window and put the roof up for the mile or so. I am not sticking anything on the rear of the car!
  7. Thanks, the reason we are going by Euro tunnel rather than Ferry was to protect the car, so damage to the alloys is the last thing I want! We have already booked Flexiplus so perhaps we could cancel and re-book with the roof-rack option. Can I assume that it will not be a problem turning up in that section with no roof rack given it is a convertible? update, thanks again for the info, I have just changed the booking to a high sided vehicle. Cost an extra £60 in total but compared to the pain of wheel damage...
  8. We are off to France for a month shortly in our LC conv. Looking forward to the trip but its been years since we took a car to Europe. Any advice would be welcome. I know we need high viz jackets in the car and a triangle. I also read that we now need a UK sticker. Magnetic? Whatever will do least damage to the paintwork I guess. Do we need to make any adjustments to the headlamps? Thanks in anticipation. I will try to post some photos.
  9. I would echo the comments above. Works well but expensive. I didn't like the look of the higher sitting one. I got a good deal on new car order and just viewed the cost of the wind shield as giving back some of the discount and currently am glad I did.
  10. A drive through the Wye Valley with a brief stop at Tintern Abbey
  11. I saw a link to a podcast on an LC facebook page and so far it makes fascinating listening. The story behind the LC after one US journalist described Lexus's as boring. Its called 'Go and see' by Malcom Gladwell. Six shortish episodes. I am only half way through but great stuff to date.
  12. Yes, although, I screwed up copying the stock rear mats, which was even more stupid, given I had adjusted the front ones to what I thought would be a better fit. They could and should be larger, not that its an issue given they will so rarely be used. I should say that I have no connection with the company but would highly recommend their custom mats. Lots of colours, finishing trims etc and I thought £110 for a set of 4 seemed very fair
  13. I have had some custom mats made to order from morethanpolish and am very pleased. I had to send some paper templates since the taylor had not made any for the LC before. But they seem great quality and a great colour match for my interior and a very fair price. The seats in the pics are as far back as they go, so in the normal position the fasteners are less visible. If truth be told, I think I prefer them to the pale cream/white stock ones which are a combo of vinyl and carpet and obviously get dirty very quickly.
  14. We need a group road trip, that'll get your mileage up😀
  15. I paid just under 1k from dealer. Early impressions worth in terms of very little wind feel at 70mph, even though it us a ridiculous price.
  16. Who needs to drive California's Highway 101 when there is the A493 from Barmouth to Aberdovey
  17. Blue driving moccasins already purchased and Mrs. F has been instructed that blue denim is prohibited.
  18. I am having some carpet mats made in navy blue for that very reason!
  19. Wales really has some spectacular scenary
  20. And finally it has arrived...Can't wait for our Welsh Road trip this week.
  21. Everything we dreamt of. And the sun comes out, can't wait for a four day road trip to Wales starting Monday. Photos in show us your LC thread.
  22. 12 hours time and we should eventually be in possession of our new baby. Photos to follow....
  23. This may be a stupid question because I have no experience of warranty claims but do you have to go back to the dealership where you originally bought the car or can any Lexus dealership handle the claim? If that was the case, could the local dealership who thought it was imperfect paint finish not handle it? Or are you claiming on the approved used car warranty rather than the new car (extended up to 10 years warranty)
  24. Thanks for all your comments. Plenty to digest but your views will help me make an informed decision.
