  1. I have just seen the news on FB, really sad to hear, I last saw John when he delivered a bonnet for the Lex for me after that wild Xmas do in Nottingham where someone reversed in to my car. Really sad news.. RIP John.
  2. So did you get this fixed in the end? I have just replaced the discs and pads on the rear and I too have a scraping noise on the rear drivers side when turning left. Going to check the shield tomorrow morning and also give the wheel a wobble to see if the bearing is worn!
  3. Wow interesting news.... will have to see if I get a letter through the post then.
  4. Well I didnt take the glass out in the end.. A dose of WD40 helped but it was still stopping. So I took a paint brush and a lot of hot soapy water and brushed all around the joint. Then kept playing with the mirror open / close button helping the mirror round the point of sticking and using the brush on the joint... eventually the wing mirror started to open and close on its own, so I have put this down to a lot of grime in the mirror joint. Fixed.
  5. I am having some similar problems with mine at the moment, folds in OK, but stops about half way folded out. Passenger side is fine though. Going to take the glass off today and take a look inside. There is a guide in the knowledge base of how to remove the glass.
  6. Blast from the past... holy thread revival batman! Must have been a good 2 and a half months before it was gone. I put up with it for a while but I did try and get under the floor at one point to see if I could find it, but the hole in the outside wall was not large enough and there was a fairly large void with rubble so couldnt find / get to it. Terrible smell it was! Moral of the story is, if you are going to poison rats, dont block any entrances and dont have a floor you cant take up!
  7. Mine went down from 450ish to 270 with Bell when I renewed in December, 30+ with 5+ NCB, mods, bus miles and Mrs insured as well.
  8. Dont forget the VSC, auto dimming mirrors and emergency break assist as well on the IS300
  9. As an update to this, the battery is the same as the IS200 one, a 28800-YZZAE Current price is 51.07 + VAT with a 3 year guarentee.
  10. thats just crazy ! tell them its for a toyota rav 4 , same battery !! Yes I had that conversation with them as well, as that is what Google came up with, but without the engine model I was unable to get a straight answer! I'll give Lexus a call tomorrow and see what they come up with.
  11. I may have to try another Toyota or Lexus, they said yesterday they couldnt look up Lexus parts, however if they have the optipart number they can do something.
  12. Aha - so I need an optifit number for the battery, 28800-74181 is a few hundred quid as it is the original battery where as Toyota replace them with an Optifit version which has a code like the "28800-YZZAE" on Kam's reciept. Anyone for an Optifit number per chance?
  13. Hmmm - well I just looked tonight and it has 65D23L-MF on the battery itself! I'll have to ask Toyota if they recognise that tomorrow :)
  14. Great stuff, cheers mate :) I'll check my battery tonight and give tyhem a call tomorrow :)
  15. Cheers Kam, can you remember the part number on your reciept? There's quite a selection in that list :)
  16. Hi All, I am in need of a new battery for my IS300, there is a toyota parts desk local to me but they are unable to look up the part number for an IS300 battery. Does anyone have the details / specs. Cheers Jason
  17. What was the conclusion to this then as I am now in need a new battery for my IS300....
  18. Not seen the new stuff, is it the American episodes?
  19. I still have mine fitted, I have cleaned the fliter with the K&N cleaning kit about 8 months ago, it had a few miles though it before I cleaned it btu I cant remember how many. I had mine swapped for the second gen version shortly after I fitted it, there should be a thread on here with the details in it somewhere. The second gen one came with a better surround which had a rubber gasket on it, this has since perrished but the rest of it is fine. I have some pics somewhere but I dont think they are on the net so cant post much at the moment as I am away from home.
  20. It's amazing the reach the tower of power has LOLOLOL
  21. It might not just be sound it effects, there may be other reasons like aerodynamics within the induction pipe. I cant remember seeing it on mine as it has had the K&N on for so long! LOL
  22. Thats quite an old thread (or revival of one) I remember the original.
  23. Just watched this, thanks for the heads up Paul - fantastic movie ;)
  24. Sounds like the card is goosed, you did format it in the camera didn't you? Try reading it from the camera using the USB connection. The shots info is from the EXIF data, you need something like KUSO viewer (free) to see it. 10,000 isn't a problem I would have thought unless he was sold it as new :)
