  1. Thanks for the idea, although its due an MOT and it wont pass its MOT with a leaking fuel tank. The other thing is that I do a fair amount driving. Would anyone know of a fuel tank repair place in and around London?
  2. That is a very good suggestion. All that mechanic said is that the leak is coming from the top of the fuel tank which is not very accessible. He has to take out so many other parts before to repair or change the fuel tank. I will ask him to look at the other possibilities in around the various joints and clips. I sincerely hope it is one of them..
  3. Hello Guys, Thanks for your responses. I'll talk to my garage to see whether if it is just the filler pipe rather than the fuel tank. Thanks again...
  4. Hi All, I have a leak in the filler neck area of the fuel tank. I understand that this is a common problem with these models. Can anyone suggest a good place where I can get an aftermarket fuel tank? or a good place in and around London where I can get it repaired? My mechanic can take it off but is not familiar with repairing it. Can anyone suggest a good repair kit/ sealer/ putty/ and something similar please..? Thank you in advance.
  5. Thank you for the replies gentlemen. I certainly find the 430 more comfortable as a driver compared to the 600. such a shame because I really liked the look of the bigger and longer 600HL.
  6. Yes it is the stretched version so plenty of legroom in the back, not so much in the front..
  7. Hi All, i have a LS430 and I was considering buying an LS600HL. But, when I sat in the front seat of the LS600HL for the first time, the leg room felt smaller when compared to my LS430... This is strange as the 600 is a much bigger car compared to the 430. I did try to push the front seat all the way back but still the legroom felt smaller than the 430. Has anyone notice this at all..?
  8. I just want to say thank you for all the replies. They have helped mr in looking at the various possibilities that may be cause of the car breakdown. Thank you guys, really appreciate it!
  9. The battery terminals look fine, but I'll clean them anyway, no harm in cleaning them...
  10. Yes, that may be case, I will tell my mechanic about this possibility. The AA guy did run the cable, He did say that this method that he used doesn't always work.
  11. lol..those were his words. He said "I just skipped the ecu to start your car" whereupon I said "ok"....
  12. Thank you for replying, Yes, its very unusual for a Lexus to breakdown in this manner. I sincerely hope that it is something minor and my mechanic would check everything out including the starter motor. I will also check out the battery connections myself as well.
  13. Hi All, I've had my first ever Lexus for about 5 months now and I love this car. I drove the car fine into a retail store and came back 10 mins later, unlocked the car, but when I tried to start with the key fob, there was no response, no cranking, no lights, just dead. It's obviously not a flat battery as the car was driving fine 10 mins ago. The guy from the AA came over and checked the battery (which was fine). He then used some cable to start the car from one of that battery terminals. He said that there may be an issue with the ECU as he had just "skipped" the ECU to start the car. Advised to take it to the garage, which I will do. Have any of the members here had a similar incident? any ideas what it could be and is this a common issue the Lexus LS 430? any advise and comments would be appreciated.. Thank you.
  14. Hi GEN, Thanks so much for your reply and I will pm you if I have any tricky questions. Thank you. This is one of the reasons why I am looking at a post facelift example, as my reasoning is that Lexus would have fixed any niggly issues that may have been apparent in the pre facelift ones...What colour is yours?
