  1. I had this getting gradually worse for months, it can come and go, in the end a new starter / solenoid from a breakers fixed it for £90 fitted.
  2. What year is it? 1998, 152k miles How long have you owned it? 7 Years Did it come with Full Lexus History? Yes Have you had any problems with the ABS pump? No
  3. Does it surge forward when you switch it back to Petrol? Mine is noticably faster on petrol despite an expensive multipoint LPG system. I do have plenty of power on LPG though which you don't seem to.
  4. Not much help, but my 1993 LS was similar, and its was also the case slightly with my GS before i changed to an iPod. Daniel.
  5. The screen, the box in the boot recieves the button presses via the network - if that wasn't working the whole system won't boot up.
  6. If your not sure - just disconnect the battery for 15 mins - that'll reset everything.
  7. It runs from the radio (2?) fuse in the engine bay - i think its one at the end.
  8. give these guys a call http://www.toyotalexusspecialists.co.uk/
  9. isn't this it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PIONEER-6-DISC-CD-CH...1QQcmdZViewItem
  10. The emv is the "electro multivision screen", i.e. the touch screen monitor, sounds like yours is broken...
  11. Sounds like the emv screen then, the LS400 looks the same but it doesn't have the temperature displays on the EMV they are on a seperate LCD.
  12. I have 32k miles on my Prinz system with Flashlube, i had to change my plugs from the standard ones though as it started misfiring almost as soon as i had the conversion done. No problems since the new plugs. I think cars that do long motorway distances are more likely to be affected because they have a relatively short time running on Petrol, if your only doing 30 miles then the first mile is Petrol anyway. Daniel.
  13. Does it beep when you touch it even when it doesn't work? Is the problem just in NAV mode or also in Audio / Menu?
  14. Can anyone confirm if the model of the CD changer on the Mark 4 LS400 with the CD based satnav is 86270-30150 (same as the GS300)? Also, is there any instructions anywhere on how to remove the changer?
  15. I have 3 NECVOX monitors which seem good, find a dealer at www.automonitor.co.uk Daniel.
  16. Remeber you may get stung for VAT and possibly some kind of import duty.
  17. If its like a tinkling / rattling noise its probably the heat shield around the exhaust - an exhaust place should cut it off for you for a tenner, its not needed. Daniel.
  18. I'm surprised you don't rate your DVD system, my CD system is far better at actually getting me where i'm going than my Tomtom GO 510. The ones from here http://www.toyotalexusspecialists.co.uk/ are also copies. Daniel.
  19. You can copy them easily with a cd burner, so its probably a copy. If too many of these copies start floating around, i'm worried Lexus will just stop making them if there is no money in it.
  20. You've just got to put a switch in the wire between the brake and the unit, but watching tv whilst trying to drive is not a good idea - please let me know what roads you're on so i can avoid you!
  21. Can anyone tell me how to remove the back seat base on my Mk2 GS? Thanks in advance. Daniel.
  22. I'm sure that would work ok, or you could get a spare cartridge.
  23. Short answer is yes, thats what i have (3.5mm headphone plug). However you will be connecting the (left -) and (right -) together permanantly to the earth of the plug which will degrade the sound quality slightly on the radio / tape. Its not really noticable however.
