  1. Hi, I am a new member and I have 1993 LS400 that needs your help. Trying to figure out how to read-out the DCT code from the ECU without expensive equipment ? I have noticed two symptoms: 1. I hear the "beep beep beep" audible sound when I turn off the engine and trying to get out of the car. It seems that it is trying to tell me something that I don't know what to do about it. I am not smart enough to figure it out yet. 2. The engine started to run very rough. I was hoping to see the DTC code as a hint before I begin the shot-gun approach of the trouble shooting. Also, the fuel gauge finally gave up of showing correct the fuel amount in the tank. It started off as slowing of the needle movement for a period of little over a year and finally it stays at empty mark all the time. I don't know where to start the trouble shooting. If you have any suggestions, I will be very happy guy. Thank you in advance, Taka S. California
  2. Hi Chris, I just fixed the Power Steering fluid leak problem yesterday on my 1993 LS400. The fluid has been seeping out for a while and finally had a chance to take a look at the source of the leak. I found that little rubber "O-ring" on the short pipe under the reservoir that fits into the pump was hard and brittle. The local dealer does not sell the o-ring by its self. The little rubber o-ring is part of the Pump rebuild kit with the price of $36. I found the generic rubber o-ring from the local hardware store in the plumbing section for $0.25 plus tax. I am not sure if this is a automobile quality o-ring or not. But, decided to try it out to see how long it will last. Even if I have to do it again, the replacement effort was not too bad. It may not be strong enough for the heat and the chemical reaction from the fluid. Taka S. California
