  1. Interested if the price is right. Is this just fronts or rears too?
  2. Indeed - R is 300bhp T5 is 250. Although a chip'n'map can get the T5 very close to 300 allegedly....
  3. Nope - but I've already ordered that grill for mine ....I mean the wife's
  4. I wish I was getting that one but no that's just inspiration for potential cosmetic mods. Turbo lag wasn't actually too bad - and when it kicks in, you get properly shoved back into those comfy arm chairs.
  5. no, it's not for me - it's for the missus. and no it's not really "new" it's got 80k on the clock. 52 reg Volvo v70 T5 now, those of you not too clued up on ovlov's will be going "yawn - he got a swedish tank for the family - so what" but those of you in the know will recognise the importance of those two digits at the end: T5. 2.4ltr turbo, 250bhp stock and limited to 155mph. It's what all the cops used to drive. There's something extremely strange and wonderful about a 2 tonne massive car with armchair like seats going very very fast. It's genuinely shocking and quite wonderful :) Get it next week so no pics as yet but already been looking around for inspiration. I think this is quite tasty.... I'm almost jealous of the wife! :o
  6. (Apologies if this is not the advice you're looking for.....) My advice: don't buy another seat: kiddy seats WILL wreck the leather in your pride and joy. Once your daughter reaches 3 - she'll be ready for a booster seat which will be much kinder on your leather. Until then: suck it up and drive the missus' car when family are required. Best regards, Disgruntled parent with terrible dimples in the back seats of his Lexus
  7. yeah I gave up on finding a sealed hose and tried a few sealing hose clip solutions too - but none worked as well or looked as good as the bolt. I know Roop sealed the end of a hose when he had his by melting it - i tried that too but found the bolt to be a better looking solution.
  8. Yes - that is for the US cars - UK ones don't have it. I used a short length of silicon hose with a bolt in the other end held in place with a hose clip then secured this to the engine bay with a cable tie - very airtight and doesn't look too DIY.
  9. Ride is stiffer yes but in a good way. Have to be pretty careful over humps though.
  10. That looks brilliant, really low - much lower than Stevie's car looked though, do they take a while to bed in then? Yeah took a little while - think mine looked like Stevie's when they were first fitted.
  11. cheers mate - yes lowered on TTE's
  12. Cheers mate - it was in very good nick and didn't take much work at all bit of fine steel wool and some Alu polish. Just getting used to it as it was fitted @wim this week but loving it so far.
  13. Thanks all re: Typhoon: it's a winner :) Noise is simply heaven - a real proper engine roar when accelerating hard. It's very hard to gauge actual power increase because with the noise it sure does feel faster. Manufacturer's claim is approx 8bhp increase - but who knows... No difference in mpg that I've noticed. If you're thinking of getting one - I'd say do it! (just make sure you get a 2nd generation one with the heat shield and non-welded mount)
  14. And some general shots cos its clean for once :)
  15. Been a long time since I updated this with any info - that's partly because credit crunch + 2 small kids does not equal much cash for mods... Also with all these fantastic big projects going on at the mo it seems silly to come on and shout about what are really small things. However I've been doing bits'n'bobs and I'm rapidly becoming the Womble of LOC (making good use of the things that I find.) Did a spring clean today so thought I'd post some pics of some new bits. Slightly dirty engine bay with K&N typhoon (thanks Roop) and rad panel (thanks Steve D) Smoked Side repeaters (thanks Rolex) with clear LED lights Original (non silent) HKS Hipower zaust (thanks Stav)
  16. Role Design Director Company - Walt Disney Co. What we do - Make videogames for x360, ps3, wii, psp & ds Area - London Help to members? - hmmmm, not sure - try me.
  17. Please wait a few seconds for Video to Load! Plus story and pics of the two competing this weekend here
  18. horses for courses innit. It's not at all like having an automatic Ferrari - let's not delude ourselves that the IS is some kind of sports car - in stock form it's a small executive saloon. My IS is my daily driver and as such 90% of its life is spent in stop start traffic in and out of london - an auto for this function is perfect especially in the morning when I'm half asleep. At the same time when the roads are clear I can enjoy some bahn-storming and have enough power to get me out of trouble quickly (something I couldn't say of the 200 in stock form). If your a driving enthusiast looking for some serious B-road twisty fun then I'd suggest A LOT of cars over the IS. just my 2p's worth.
  19. Big fan of kodiak sky too. Look simply stunning with a kit on. Here's one with TRD kit on.
  20. I've owned both a 200 and a 300 - and imo it's easily worth the extra £1500. The difference in power is very noticeable - in my 200 there were times when I needed more power - now I just want more power - that's a huge difference. When you work out the cost of fitting HID's, tints, LSD and an SC to a 200 (which is what you'd have to do to get around 300 power) - then it's a no-brainer Yes - the UK 300 is only available in auto but the e-shift buttons on the wheel can be fun when you get the hang of it.
  21. See above. A good blast of the heaters for an hour or two helps a bit, but now it's warming up a bit, they should just 'pop' out naturally over say 1-2 weeks? ah ok - will wait and see then and if not maybe a light blast with a hair dryer. Thanks.
  22. No chance - I just raise the seat and steering wheel and straighten the seat back - it's more of a van driving position and far from comfy - but I'm not getting rid of the lex! :)
  23. When I have to put the kids in the lex - I have a maxi cosi tobi on one side and a cabrio fix on the other. I blimmin hate 'em. 1) I'm six foot four so doesn't matter which one is behind me I have to scrunch up till my knees are practically round my ears - not a great driving position. 2) the leather dents are an absolute nightmare. I try and avoid it wherever possible but this weekend I'm taking the whole clan down to see in-laws in devon (3hour trip). Any tips for removing the dents once I get the seats out? I usually just try and massage the area as much as possible but it's not perfect by far - really annoying.
  24. Sorry to see that mate. But if you saw the incident council should definitely pay up - maybe get a front respray out of it? Although by the look of the pics that should polish out very easily no?
