  1. Hi Guys As the title says my Lex went for its MOT today and failed on emissions. It was high last year but some fuel treatment sorted it out but this year it 's being more stubborn. The garage I use are trying to give it a run tomorrow, and hoping to bring the readings down, but i'm not too optimistic. I'm thinking maybe Cats or a Lambda sensor but the garage admit they can't diagnose it and don't want to randomly change sensors/ ecu's. Is it best to take it Lexus (Nottingham) if the treatment doesn't work, and will they be able to make an accurate diagnosis? Sorry about all the questions, feeling a bit panicky . Hi to everyone by the way, i've not been in for a while. Regards Adz :winky:
  2. I use a snooper S5-R detector and a Garmin I3 Satnav with monthly updates, less than £300 all in and the Garmin I3 has postcode search satnav as well. They're both really simple (like me) and plug and play There are so many sneaky cameras now a good detector plus Satnav with monthly updates seems the way forward IMHO.
  3. There's some corkers on there. i well fancied that bird out of Black box, and technotronic. And Enya Check out Mr.T "treat your mother right" That's awesome, hes's nails (i pity the fool) :D .
  4. Gimme a chance! Thay're Scorpion aftermarket ones and sound very nice(much quieter than the Micron full race system on the blade), i've ordered a MotoGP double bubble screen and a HID kit already, well yesterday actually. That was before i'd even got it.
  5. Hi peeps I just bought a '99 Suzuki Hayabusa 1300 today to go with my '94 Blade, which i've had 7 years and can't bear to sell. I took it for it's maiden voyage and it is soooo 'kin fast it's unbelievable. I'm so excited and still in shock about how much torque the thing has. It feels like it's got twice the power of the blade. I'm off to work on it tomorrow so the 190 mile trip should only take about an hour :shutit: . I've attached some piccies if you fancy a look, i'm very happy :D :D :D :D :D
  6. I've got a Rado ceramica mulifunction and it's very understated, not at all bling. Breitlings are wonderfully made but they're usually pretty chunky, skinny people look funny wearing a Breitling. My mate can barely lift his skinny arm up when he wears his and feels self-conscious as it's really expensive, so he wears his Omega instead. I agree about the TAG looking fake, as that's what put me off. Omega make nice watches too, although the James Bond connection puts me off.
  7. Thanks for the tip, I just bought one for my 'Busa, which i'm getting tomorrow. At over 3 miles a minute (on private roads) you need to see where you're going
  8. That's cruel ... but funny :D :D :D
  9. I'll post up the pic's when I get it, bought it privately from a chap in Lancashire who's getting a new ZX10R. Black/ Red, 17500 miles and new tyres/ service/ chain and sprocket kit etc at 17000 miles, He's chucked in a few extras as well for £3700
  10. I just bought a full power Hayabusa! Well I put the deposit down. My wife said i'm only allowed a Busa if I keep my blade, as she likes it (what a girl). 200mph (ish) here we come! on a private road.... :D I'm so excited, and a bit scared. :o
  11. You must be strong Ellz! R1's are the work of the Devil. (Gorgeous bike's though, especially in black/ silver or the old blue ones)
  12. I would never buy a bike that did not have black wheels as they are always a bitch to keep clean never, ever liked the kwak green - horrible and all too common too The green ones are the fastest
  13. Do it, that looks ace, you can wear your leathers and lid too. Looks like you'd need them. :D
  14. These were factual figures recorded by bike mags in the 90's Ellz, i've never actually timed my one personally. There are quite a few big bore superbikes that can do 60 in under 3 seconds but 2.5 seems to be the limit for a new stock superbike, there's rumours the 2007 GSXR1000 can do 2.4 as well as the ZZR1400. the last few years power has gone up so much but they are consequently much more wheelie prone and harder to accelerate cleanly. I remember an FZR1000 Exup doing 100 in just under 6 seconds back in the early 90's. All the power in the world is no good if you can't keep the front down. BTW that ZX12 looks mean in that colour, the ZX12 I sat on today was blue like the old 9R and looked a bit square and bulky in that colour. You can't go wrong with the black and gold, reminds me of my old raleigh burner :winky: .
  15. Might be interested, let me know when you get it running. You being a tuner chappie is it stock? I always liked the bronze and silver busa's but they were a love it or hate it colour scheme, a bit like my urban street tiger. Ellz, I know where there's a lovely blade with them fancy holes which might be up for sale soon . By the way the Kawasaki dealer I was in today wanted £8000 for an unregistered last years model ZX12R and £8800 for a ZX10R. When I told him the ZZR1400 is only £8995 he was having none of it. They're crooks and if you're after a Busa or ZX12 you should be able to pick one up at a good price. There's always offers on new bikes in MCN. I remember a while back I saw some Mille Aprilias for about £6K (nice bikes too) :winky: . Monster- Mat, Would the bike you're after be your first proper bike after the DT125R? A blade is a great bike to build up your confidence, especially my one ;) ;) 0-60 2.8 seconds, 0-100 5.9 seconds, 165 MPH
  16. What colour/ age / mileage is it mate?
  17. What sort of money are you after and what year/ colour is it mate? I realise you might not have any piccies, Is it sorn at the moment then? I went to Derby just now to see the ZZR1400 but they don't have any in stock, just a nice blue ZX12R :winky: No busa's
  18. How many miles do you get out of a back tyre? I've never ridden one long distance but they're only supposed to last 1000-2000 miles. Have you fitted a flip-up screen or double-bubble, and if so does it help the airflow? Let's see some piccie's then please. What MPG do you manage? I do a 700 mile 4 day round trip to work on my bike so I don't want to be changing tyres/ filling up all the time. I don't mean to hijack the post but I love hayabusa's and don't know any one who owns one. For me it was always a logical step up from the 90's blade but i've been advised against it by different people. It's between the Busa' and the ZZR14 for me. Still find it amazing that a Busa can be called an "all-rounder" these days, that thing was built for one thing only...... to be the fastest road bike ever.
  19. You're right about the newest superbikes, they are tiny. I was going to upgrade my 90's Blade (urban tiger) for a new one as i've had it for 7 years but the new one feels like a toy. A lot of taller bikers like the 1100 Blackbird or ST1100 Pan-European Honda (don't get the latest ST1300 Pan though as they have a weave issue they still haven't sorted out). The hayabusa, although insanely fast is hard to get out of the wind blast and becomes tiresome quite quickly at speed. I'm going to look at the new ZZR1400 tomorrow (197BHP) How about an older ZZR? The ZZR1200 is a good bike as was the 1100 before it. The ZX12-R is a good bike but is caught up by it's little brother the ZX10R, the ZZR1400 is about to retail for only about £800 more than the ZX12. If the ZX12 fits you and you like it take it for a nice long test ride, but take it easy FFS. Wake up at the back. Sorry I could go on all night about bikes, and quite often do .
  20. I've been after some chrome spinner wheel trims but can't find ones to fit the LS
  21. I cleaned my LS today and spent hours doing the claybar detailing, then Merguiars 3 stage system. I had to try and get the Lex in the garage as it was so sunny and the blade got kicked out, it was a tight squeeze and I had to do 1 side at a time. It's the 1st time i've used Merguiars and i'm very impressed. It feels as smooth as glass to the touch The pictures don't do it justice, but then I would say that I suppose :winky: .
  22. I agree with you there mate, all that show boating is fine in front of the girls/press but when the other guy's looking like he might knock you out he should have just got his head down and boxed. He's well talented (as Hamed was) but let's hope he doesn't go the same way as Hamed. As long as he relies on his determination / coaching team and hard work rather than a divine right and an entourage of religious zealots and leeches who have no idea about boxing i'm sure he'll be fine. (I'm thinking more about Tyson/ Ali/ Hamed as I think they all went the same in the end.) I didn't see the heavyweights though as i'm not allowed up that late.
