  1. Many thanks for all of the replies. Regarding the engine on the M3, the bearings were proactively replaced, under warranty, a few years back. In addition, the engine specifically has an extended warranty for 100k miles or 6 years. That would last me about another two years. Regarding an increase in bhp on the is300 to 350, what would that cost in terms of both $ and reliability?
  2. Gents (and ladies?): In the near future I will have the opportunity to purchase a 2002 BMW M3 (SMG) coupe for well below retail from the original owner. It has been well maintained and was never in an accident. However, to make this purchase I would have to sell my beloved 2002 is300 5speed. I recently drove an M3 and it was very impressive with regard to pickup and handling. However, I'm pretty sure it will become a maintenance nightmare before it reaches 100k miles (currently has around 50K). In addition, the interior fit and finish were not nearly as nice as the Lexus'. Can I get some other good reasons not to buy? Thanks for your consideration.
  3. Thanks guys. The car is still under warranty, so I'll take it in.
  4. Has anyone ever experienced a strange noise (low buzzing) from the front of the car (engine compartment perhaps) after tuning-off the engine? It seems only to happen after driving with the a/c on and lasts for maybe 15 seconds. Also, does anyone know if a fan is supposed to come on after the engine is shut-off if it has reached a certain temperature? I'm thinking this sound could be a bad fan motor, if one exists. Many thanks in advance for your consideration.
  5. We have some decent micro brews. Samuel Adams, Sierra Nevada and Harpoon to name a few. No Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout or Nut Brown Ale on tap though. I used to like Double Diamond until someone told me it was crap. Regardless I'll take DD over Bud, Miller, Coors, etc. any day.
  6. There are a few people in the UK that would like your vehicle. We can only get the auto e-shift model here. ← Didn't realize that. I did see that the 200 is offered in a 6sp. That must be nice.
  7. Nah, the wheel's fine....it's the rest of car which has been built on the wrong side of it. :P ← Welcome mate, wish i was on ur side of the pond. Don't suppose you know anywhere cheap to get some private flying hours in do you? lol ← No sorry. Funny, I often wish I was on your side, especially for the beer!
  8. Many thanks for the warm welcome. Mine is the standard is300 they offer in the states. 2002 5 speed. Red w/ black leather/alcatera interior. Steering wheel seems to be on the wrong side though...
  9. Noticed the link to the UK site on the on the USA club site. I much prefer yours. More postings and better "english". Just wanted to say hello.
