  1. Positive, I searched all the locations for the CD / DVD player containing the Sat Nav (listed in forums and manual) and none fitted. I asked the dealer about a retro fit as at the time all that I thought had to be done was to plug in a GPS and a dvd map system, but how wrong I was, it would have required a whole new installation costing £1,000s so forgot about it. When newer car purchased made sure that navigation was fitted.
  2. You do not say if you have recently bought the vehicle but as a new member I will presume that you have. Was the vehicle sold to you as having navigation because I owned a 52 RX300 SE with the navigation screen as you have shown but it was not fitted with the navigation system. All other functions for the heater controls, the radio etc worked fine but when I tried the buttons for navigation the response I got was similar to what you are getting. I may be wrong but this could be why you cannot find the navigation system.
  3. Good shout Moonranger. Worked perfectly within 20 seconds on my recently aquired 06 350 SE-L. Now if I could only get the Sat-Nav to understand my voice commands! Cheers. Joha101
  4. Have an 02 RX 300SE with original Dunlop SP270. Now over 71000 on the clock. I always have the wheels rotated at service and there is still around 5mm on each tyre. I have searched the web with a view to changing if and when the time came but could not find very little with the same profile. As the car will be getting replaced in two or three months time this set should last me till then. Joha101
  5. Not having logged on for some time I see there are a few threads that I have had experience on that may be of interest to viewers. Firstly I had a replacement gearbox fitted to my May 02 RX SE at 62K miles last April. I put the car in for a service and had a comment made on the service sheet about a slight noise from the gearbox, (not noticed by me). When I discussed this with the service manager he said that there have been some problems with the RX gearbox at or around 60k and that he has dealt with a couple of them personnaly. He also said that when the cars came to the UK originally a police force (Hertfordshire I think) who ran them on the motorways had problems with a few of their fleet at 60K. As I had extended the Lexus warranty (£1420 for 2 years) he arranged for the car to be brought in for about a week, gave a brand new GS300 as a run around and had the gearbox replaced. When I picked it up and asked about the cost if I had not had the warranty he said it would have been about £3500. So all in all £1420 well spent. I extended again in May 07 at a cost of £825 for the year and in September I heard a rumble from the rear offside bearing. When checked out it was ready to go, this was replaced under warranty but while removing some of the parts to replace the bearing an ABS sensor was damaged this was also replaced under warranty. It is not only the American RX's that have had gearbox problems. On the other thread by (ihPJ) on the cost of the warranty. Lexus may be expensive but so are the cost of replacement parts if they go and as I have found out to my benefit in the long run the quality of the Lexus warranty and the dealerships in my case has paid off. Other dealers that I have been involved with over the years have not been as accomodating or helpful as Lexus. So while it may be expensive it could certainly be worth considering if in the long run if you intend keeping your vehicle much beyond the original manufacturers 3 years warranty. Hope this is of interest and help. Regards JOHA101
  6. The lexus warranty is almost identical to the manufacturers original and as said in another reply it is quite expensive. I paid around £1420 to extend the warranty for two years on my 02 RX recently, slight discount for the 2nd year. At least it gives peace of mind if the unlikely ever happens. :D
  7. :mat: Sami, Check out the web site www.glogalautosupplygroup.com in the US. They are advertising on e-bay (3/2/05) for sets of mats for front, back and load bay.
