I know this may sound silly, but I have received 3 speeding tickets in the last 6 weeks. While I am not the most perfect driver around, the dates/times written on the letters they sent me are such that I would have been at work with my car safely in a parking lot on at least 2 of the occasions. Is there any way to contest these? I am new to the UK and so not sure how to proceed. They didn't send me any photos in the mail, just said that their allegation has supporting evidence behind it. Hey guys (and girls?), I used to have a 10inch JBL sub with an Alpine amp in last car - now with my new IS I'm looking to put in a powered sub perhaps 8" or 10" alpine. Not looking for anything too ridiculous in terms of cost (just a bit of a bass kick!). Just wondering if anyone has put in a sub without changing the stock sound system, and if you would recommend any place in Central / North London to install (I'm terrible at these things). thanks, Asif

Hey guys, I just got my IS last week (2001 SE Auto Navigator). Really enjoying using it and was cruising around all weekend. However I find an irritating squealing noise when ever I hit the brakes. Performance is perfect and it stops on a dime but the sound is just bothering me. Any ideas what might be causing it / how I can fix it without replacing the brakes? cheers... (BTW will post pics sometime soon )

hey, i live near swiss cottage.....was asking about tyre b/c i just moved to LDN and have no clue what basic repairs cost and if its worth it. consensus seems to be to fix this thing - so i guess i'll rely on the collective judgement of this dedicated owners club!!

After surfing this site and asking questions (to which I got very helpful answers), I thought I'd share that I just got myself an IS200!! Its a Black 2001 SE Auto with Nav in great condition. To clear up a question I asked earlier, my car was registered in Oct 2001 (51 reg) and still has CD based navigation - was a little irritated by this because before I found this forum I assumed this would be DVD. Anyway the car is lots of fund to drive, and I can't wait for the weekend so I can cruise! :) The previous owner had the rear right tyre on the wrong way (opposite spin direction) - is this serious enough to change or should I just drive with it? cheers, A

Hey thanks for the info. The one I'm seeing is 51 reg, but has a REMOVABLE remote that mounts just ahead of the armrest. does that sound familiar / right? so basically you can use it plugged in as well as like a remote. was the older one different? thanks

Hi all, I'm about to buy a 2001 SE, and was wondering if this model has a DVD navigation or CD? Are there any enhanced features on the DVD? Should I be worried that the thing may not work properly? When I test drove it, I checked it by simply trying to find my place which was 15 miles away (not the best way i know). Also, does the navigation cover roads all over Europe? In case I take it on a trip on the continent? thanks very much for the help. -Asif

hi all, i too am new to the lexus world. Just wondering if all Lexuses come with security system? I'm getting an SE......I told the insurance company it didn't have any security / immobiliser so if it does I could probably save some money right? thanks, Asif
