I live in Leeds and i'd be interested to view the car, what colour is it, dont really see many Soarers round Leeds. I could probably take some photos of the car if you want to post them up somewhere as well.

no i dont i have the standard one So you have the small panel for the air con? Try following the details on this site http://web.ukonline.co.uk/soarertt/aircon.htm Also you can try the following which may show if you car finds any other errors, If you have a small scroll panel at the bottom of the dash, then try connecting E1 and TC in one of the data link connectors, either in the engine bay, on top of the engine in a v8 or by the boot and fuel release switches under the dash not sure if both have the same connectors, it should say what they are inside the cover. Turn the ignition on, wait a little while and try pressing the scroll button, it should go through a few systems and will have NG for no good if there is a problem and should then give you an error number, write this down and report here. You can also do this with E1 and TE2 which does a more in depth check on some of the systems and as such may take longer.

Do you have an emv touch screen to control the radio and air con etc?

Oh they come with electric retacting steering columns, touch screen climate control, tape, radio, cassette, and cd changer, active suspension and 4ws with optional reversing camera and a 3d dash on the top model then :P . Must of missed that model :shruriken:.

I was looking at the 2.5TT models as they go for around £4000 or less here on autotrader! If I work 5 days a week and work is 4 miles away how far would you say a full tank would get me around town? on a Soarer that is That would depend on what version you get and what sort of driving you do. The fuel tank is large, about 78L so you'll drive for a fair while at 8 miles a day. If you got say 18mpg round town, you'd use less than a gallon a day and you can get about 17+ gallons in the tank. So it would do you for a while, if you decide to plant your foot everywhere as you probably will after you feel the power and smoothness youll get less. If i had to choose between a Soarer or an IS200 and 2mpg more I'd still be driving the Soarer. You cant really compare a Soarer and an IS200, one is a family saloon, one is a luxuary coupe.

If you have tems it will probably be for that, you will probably notice a differnce in ride with it off.

Yeah, especially if you, well, drive it anywhere. . Good service and so on soon hopefully. I want the cambelt changed, and the tensioners, and waterpump, and the ignition leads and the plugs, perhaps the rotors as they will be near when the cambelt is replaced etc. The list goes on, and the cost goes up :duh: .

You can bridge 2 connectors in the diagnostic port to switch the fuel pump to see if the fuel pump ecu is stuffed which can be quite common apparently. I recall reading B and FP (battery and fuel pump) but i am not certain so please dont try this until you are certain, best to go to www.toyotaimportsforum.co.uk and do a search on there, it should be explained. There is also a general indepth diagnostics check you can do, this should give you a general idea if anything else it can check needs attention.

Not sure how the cable is driven, maybe electric and hydraulic are used :duh: . The active suspension with its impressive cornering abilitys makes sure you can have fun on corners, while, well, everyone else trys to keep up .

Soarers can have 2 as well. Maybe its a JDM thing.

I don't know the car, there were no bids on it last time i viewed it though. One went near me a few months ago for about £1500, if i had the money i would of bought it as a spare. As things like the front struts are pretty expensive.

Definatly worth taking someone who knows how they drive etc with you. The V8's often have higher spec levels, EMV, leather etc. You can get most for the TT but they are less common to be fully specced than a V8. Iirc, the V8 only went VVTI in the USA, iirc the V8 was stopped in japan and then the 3L came out. I may be wrong though, but thats what i can remember.

Change is often hard, more so when you have been doing something for a long time. Often the thought about leaving is where will the next job come from, what will they do next. This problem often comes for the people that dont really know anything and just hold in there at there job, they disapear into the woodwork and have no real skills, they just manage to talk there way through until the next problem they create comes along and the try to get out of that too, or more likely someone where they work redo's the work for them without them knowing it. Then there are the people who have the knowledge, that work hard, that strive to be the best at there job. There reputations precede them. People contact them for work they need doing. My Dad worked for a big firm for 29 years where he did alot of work with alot of people. To leave the place you have worked for 29 years in a secure job is a big risk for someone paying a mortgage with people to support. He applied for voluntry redundancy when the company was taken over and wasn't sure if he'd get it as there were some more senior people choosing to apply for it as well. In the end they accepted this and he left and he felt he had made the right choice, he felt if he stayed on another 5 - 8 or so years it could make it harder to get another job because of the age he'd be then. He had been given details from someone he used to work with about a consultancy firm that person now worked for and my Dad was then employed by them for 5 years. He then had a year or so off, and we now run our own company. He still does work for the previous company when he is available, as well as other work thats available depending on timeing of jobs. I believe he enjoys the challange of what he is doing now more. There is more paper work involved, eg with tax returns etc compared to having another company doing it all for you, but you can hire someone if you need/want someone else to do this for you. The point is, his job is more enjoyable, he gets payed more and he can, to an extent, pick and choose the work he does as well as when he takes holidays etc. Its not the easiest thing to do, and saving some money so your family can eat for a few months, pay the bills etc first would be a good idea. You seem to have the knowledge and your reputation should get you business on its own, indeed from what you say it already does. All you need now is somewhere with the equipment neccessary to carry it out for yourself. Whatever you think is right, good luck on the path you choose. But, wouldn't you like a job you WANT to go to every day rather than one you HAVE to go to every day. I know i'd rather trust someone who knows what they are doing and has real enthusiasm to do the best job even if it takes them a few minutes longer. Rather than someone rushing the job because they cant wait to get it done so they can go home and dont pay attention to all the details, perhaps not checking what they have done properly etc because the place they work slowly sapped there enthuisiasm. You might want to get a cup of tea before you read all that. :duh:.

Yep mine was made in September '91 as well, although its slightly older than yours.
