To be honest I ran a wrx import running 320 bhp for a 5 months, with optimax and millers octane boost = 100 ron and I could not tell the difference whatsoever, in the end ran optimax every 4 th full up the rest of the time it was tescos I am afraid. Also a 400bhp skyline on Sainsbury’s fuel for 4 months Remember marketing is a clever thing. Most ecu’s can alter to accommodate different fuel types despite what you are told; the parameters are wider than you think Shell optimax has caused running problems in certain cars with hesitation poor starting etc etc and it’s not for everyone, 98 Ron over 95 Ron I doubt it could be measured effectively, a lot of its psychological Turbo car are more prone to detonation with lower octane fuel with high boost but as I said I noticed no problem whatsoever and the skyline is running fine and pulling strong.

Hi All I am looking to increase the power slightly on this car over the coming months, so am after advice as well as being pointed in the right direction; I am well versed in the performance world having owned m3, m5, xkr etc etc and currently have a r33 gtr vspec 400bhp + skyline which is sold and going this week. I am looking for exhaust probably titanium cat back, springs, not interested in supercharger or nos conversions, maybe a remap of the ecu if possible, 20" wheels I will get round to and probably a good body kit that complements the car rather than fast & furious

I read a report many years ago which clearly stated that static electricity can dissipate through the tyres and as someone one already mentioned the rubber strips with the pointing arrow which was a brilliant money spinner for someone. The fact of the matter is that it is you that is charged and when you touch the car you are allowing the static to jump from you to metal causing a shock. Change your jumper shoes or socks that is more likely the cause.

Stick to a bluetooth pda with outlook and connect it using gprs from your mobile phone also with bluetooth, then you can sync the device at home or work. I personally think its much better than the device mentioned.

Yes I am afraid they do, my wife got a fine and 3 points for 33 in a 30, how pathetic is that, lets face it do we need speed cameras everywere? the motorist has to have some protection, and the RA2 also covers blackspots and schools areas as well as a constant update on speed, we dont all drive with our eyes constantly on the speedo do we? arent we meant to keep them on the road....... normally 4 wheel drive you have to change all 4 tyres at the same time, as it can affect the electronics on your car, sorry but the tyre guy is correct I would check with your insurance should be covered.

Higher ron rating is really suited to import cars that are use to 100 ron as for most UK cars I think its personally a waste of money, I have tried it over the years and have noticed no real diffrence, stick to the cheap stuff and add some redex now and again

If you fit a remote start and have a cat1 alarm you have just lost your cat1 status, I have a skyline r33 gtr also and had to buy a special cat 1 alarm with build in turbo timer to keep the cat 1 status, as far as I am aware turbo timers are not illegal as the car is running for a preset time with no ignition keys present and doors locked, if they were illegal I am sure companies like clifford would not be selling them. As for remote starts thats something I would not recommend

Is it fitted with original pads? sometimes they come with anti-squeal shims and they may be missing, copperslip wont cure this problem.

Hi I got one of these when they 1st came on the market and if you have a heated screen then you are advised to fit the optional antenna, works fine on my dash and I regually move it from one car to another, just make sure you keep downloading the updates.

I have just purchased a toyota lexus soarer import which is basically the SC430 lexus model, it has the touch screen etc, sat nav etc or lack of it I was hoping that some sort of firmware upgrade would sort out the language and region settings ie: turn it to UK spec, I have been given horror storys from UK installers that it would be best to start again, which I cannot believe that any manufactuer would make a item whith such a variation to the UK spec cars. I hope someone can point me in the right direction, I know its probably been asked somewere in the past but I cant see anything on this forum
