  1. Sorry not complaining about the cost Just how easy it is for a *Little Cherub* to nick Agree with you shoggy
  2. Having sold my RX and took a 10k loss on a 6 month old car with 2500 miles on the clock, be prepaired to lose bundles especially with the new model hitting the USA in 2008 and Europe in 2009!
  3. Fergy Basically have bought a new car for the same discount as a large fleet buyer would get. In my case for the A6 this turned out to be 9% discount. However I have learnt that the rate is variable depending on what fleet discount the potential purchaser is elligable for. This varies from anything from 4% up to the maximum 9% in an A6 model. For me I quialified for the full 9%. If purchasing an A8 i would have been eligable for a 20% discount, an A3 or A4 would have been a maximum of maybe 5% I think. I have also managed to wangle a Ltd edition model due to various reasons that were outside of my control, but ultimately worked in my favour so I am very pleased as I am told Ltd editions do NOT come with discount ever, but I genuinely fell into an unusual bracket due to the timing of the order and other factors. I have essentially an S-Line model coming which is fully loaded. The car pulls extremely well and the tiptronic gearbox is noticably smoother to that of the RX (at least on the car I drove). The handling is fantastic, its well engineered for safety and has what I believe to be more space in the back than the Rx, although the layout is a little different. To be honest I have always been a big Audi fan, and traded a TT against the Lexus when I bought it. I have been very pleased with the Rx however and and am not selling it on for any other reason than I have an offer on a truly great car that I cannot refuse. More to the point, time is running out for anyone who is looking for a great RX300. Currently on Auto trader for £22,500 which makes it the best buy against everything else it's listed with, so if anyone is tempted this is a too good an opportunity to miss. I am also open to offers in this range. But Hurry Regards RxMike :winky: :winky: Hi Mike enjoy your new car.
  4. Hi Clare, i sold a Silver RX 300 SE with sat nav 2000 miles on clock, 10 months old, cost £37k Dealer would only give me £26k because i presume the car had become obsolete as they had bought out a bigger engine!!!!!!!!!!!! i had previoslly bought 6 Lexus cars from new since 1999. Don't get me wrong lovely cars, but don't expect them to hold value because they wont. 2 or 3 years ago they were the car to have, dealers could not do enough for you, now they are just like German cars and customers get treated like Mecedes and BMW owners, not very good. Anyway don't let me put you off because as i say they are good cars. Rant over. Any comments on that Lexus owners?

  6. : :duh: That £1800 increase, does it include what you get now on the SE. ie Adaptive front headlights, dodgy gear box, no i-pod connection, no smart key entry, less than 20mpg, will it also become obsolete in 3 years like the 300.
  7. Hi Fergy, From memory my last RX300 1st sevice was about £120, i suppose it depends on milage ect mine was only about 3000 miles, my present Rx300 is due in May for its 1st service with a few more miles on the clock so it could be a bit more, let me know how you get on. Baz
  8. Would have to think twice after hearing the RX300 is now obsolete after 3 years, how long before they change the Rx400? Fantastic cars though.
  9. Cool thanks. Does this affect the Lexus warranty in any way? Isn't it best to get these kind of things fitted at an authorized dealer? (do you know any?) Thanks, Sami ← Hi Sami, i got one from Toys Are Us a few months ago for about £350 you get 2x screens that fit around the back of the headrests, DVD player, car power lead, mains power lead, remote control, sound through there own speakers but easy to play through car speakers, excellent quality pictures all in all a really good buy. I believe wooleys are selling them as well. Baz.
  10. :D Hold me hands up Dieter nice looking car, is that the car your waiting on. Baz.
  11. :duh: Bit quite on the RX front, anything happening? c'mon Dieter lets have some input.
  12. Do you know what, iv'e bought six new cars from Woodford in 7 years and they have'nt contacted about this launch :duh:
  13. Just noticed the spec on the IS 250 on Auto bid. com and it says the spare wheel is a space saver, please don't tell me Lexus are going the same route as Mecedes and having a silly little spare wheel. Can anyone confirm this!
  14. Dieter's :P gone a :) bit :duh: quite. RX owner and really pleased :winky:
  15. Bartier, to take you off on a tangent what exactly do you need to do with the adaptive lights when going abroad? Is it possible to fit the headlight beam reflectors yourself/do they work? I seem to get conflicting advice. Any suggestions welcome! ← Just above the petrol cap release is a black button just push it and it's sorted, no more adaptive lights. Don't know about headlight beam reflectors though. :P
  16. Hi Alex, sorry to hear you could not get on with your Lexus, on the footbrake issue i never use it as the car is an automatic, i was told this on a Porche Cayenne day out by an advanced driver that there was no point as the wheels are locked when the car is in park, so it's not an issue with me. Be interested to know what else you did'nt like though, anyway good luck with your new car hope you enjoy it.
  17. Hi Fergy, i think you will find only one light turns on corners so as not to blind on coming vehicles, thats what my local Lexus dealer told me. Also if you drive abroad you have to switch the facillite off.
  18. I've seen posts on this before, is this a normal alloy wheel thing. Not noticed before on any of my cars, is it perhaps something that happens if you don't clean the wheels regular, or just general wear and tear.
  19. :P Hi Peeps, when i enquired about the the RX400H my dealer suggested that the amount of miles i do a year it would not be worth me buying one as i would never get my money back, although i think the technolegy is fantanstic and it does seem the way forward. One thing i would like to add is why Dieter is commenting on a Lexus site, surely he should be passing his comments on the M.B site, or is he a secret Lexus admirer who bought the wrong car! over to you Dietmer.
