  1. er...time dilation...glad it wasnt me!
  2. I was heading that way at around 10:30.
  3. Is there something poetic about the possibility of Lexus replacing BMW?
  4. So according to the Independant today, BMW are pulling out of the Williams F1 team and doing something with Sauber. This means that the Williams may use Toyota engines and according the Indi 'possibly badged under the Lexus brand'. How cool would that be? Perhaps black & gold like the old JPS. Can't think of anything witty to say at the moment, so over to you lot!
  5. Thanks folks... to quote... Removing tree sap from a car's finish is a bit more difficult than tar, as hardened sap can easily scratch your paint. I've found that by hand-rubbing the sap spots with mineral spirits or denatured alcohol, I'm able to easily remove the sap without damaging the finish. Mineral spirits and denatured alcohol act as a solvent to break up and dissolve the sap. Now to find some alchohol and spirits!
  6. Ok so I parked the car under a tree (dont ask me what type) but I now have half a dozen globules of sap on the car. Surprisingly large blobs! How the hell do you clean these off? Seriously, has anyone any ideas, cos the little gits do not want to clean off and I am afraid of taking off half the paint if I try something stronger than soapy water. Any suggestions gratefully recieved and acted upon.
  7. Hello My name is Stephen, my better half is Wendy (no sprogs yet). Sometimes wear suits but wouldnt understand IT if it bIT me. I have a security company (alarms, cctv etc) which employs around 20 people and naturally causes me my fair share of stress...but lets me run a 2004 IS300. Dont smoke or gamble, which is a good job with the price of petrol. Living in Reading affords me the "pleasure" of supporting (ha) Reading FC. (I blame me father). Like Neil above (below) I play golf badly. Apart from cleaning the IS (dont buy a black car) I havent spent any money...yet. As my brother is in New Zealand, my goal is to end up on the south island swimming with seals everyday.....then I woke up and the toast was on fire.
  8. I was at the golf club last Friday and there parked next to me was a IS200, same colour, same wheels. Nearly got in the wrong car! I traveled 500 plus miles up & down the M6 at the weekend and dont see a single IS either pass me or me pass it and there are two at my golf club. Funny world!?
  9. "So what gadgets have you bought lately?" Today I bought a portable (with complete car kit) DVD player, with remote control, battery etc, for £100. Same gadget was in the shops for £250. Might try and fit it into the car, or least set it up to watch 'Alien V Predator' as I sit on the M25 (only joking).
  10. It is indeed. Got a bit red on the golf course then came home, washed the car and went for a drive via the chippy. :) Never buy a black car they say, but when its cleaned and polised boy does it look good
  11. Being sorted out this morning at a cost of £145 (all in) for two Kuhmo tyres.
  12. Morning. I have been a member since May 2004, and although I often check out the site have rarely posted. Now that I am starting to need things (tyes, etc) I am finding the site pretty good. I live in Reading and have a Black IS with LOC (and URZs) sticker in rear window.
  13. £75 each sounds good. So as I now need to get me some new tyres (and dont want to go to some typical tyre place full of zitty kids who might damage my pride and joy) could you let me know where you got your tyres from?...if they were any good.
  14. First post, and an odd reason to do so... So after suffering misfiring over the weekend Lexus Oxford have solved the problem. Coolant in number 1 spark plug! Ok....so how does this happen, any ideas....could this happen again?
