  1. but again services that use the TETRA standard for their trunk radio dont use 433MHz, this is why one of many reasons the 433MHz was used. otherwise most cars in the uk will be having problems locking/unlocking doors and remember the radio signals from say ambulances will carries for many miles (obviously) Emergency systems 380-383 MHz, 390-393 MHz (also 383-395 MHz and 393-395 MHz) Civil systems 410-430 MHz, 870-876 MHz / 915-921 MHz, 450-470 MHz, 385-390 MHz / 395-399,9 MHz Although some frequencies adopted from TETRA seem close to the 433MHz, it just does not meen you may get some interference on 433MHz applications. it does not make sense....
  2. but why? wirless lan uses the 2.4GHz band while car key fobs use the 433MHz. I personally would say if its down to interference, the likely culprit would be the remote drive gates / garage doors as these use the 433MHz band too.
  3. The lexus dealer said the other day "it's because the cd-rs are just slightly thicker, so a compilation of 6 cd's causes the changer to jam" ← agreed....
  4. Well my first 10K service is almost due and as its a private car (cash in lue of company car) I had to ask the question how much. Was quoted £150 from Lexus Chester and I asked also whats included in that price. They replied "oil change, engine flush and filter....." Is that it I said, Oh but we check the coolant levels, tyre pressure and tread, full body examination and so on on the trival details. So can I provide the oil?, "yes as long as its fully syn." and so what will be the service price now be? "£110". :o Am I missing something here, as it seems they want to charge £110. for the labour in changing the oil and filter, which takes me 15mins tops???? So I'm ringing Lexus UK tomorrow to see if none dealer garages etc can do the service as long as they follow the job sheets etc and also if it will not invalidate the warrenty. Has anyone gone along this route etc? Thanks Guys,
  5. Well my last IS200SE had 127K on the clock. Company car motorway milage u c. It was a Y reg.
  6. Same for me what Mr Morse says - looks like a Vectra. And a bad one too....
  7. Im thinking of installing one of the many HID kits available to my IS200. Does anyone now if both the low beam and high beam can be converted and if so can you see any problems in doing so or should I stik to converting just the low beam like you see on most OEM fitted? Thanks,
  8. Not heard of an executive IS before, but if you meen the IS200 SE then no, only the Sport has the LSD.
  9. Depends how cold it is in the morning. Frosty morning on full blast till it gets warm then drop off to about 18.
  10. A little off topic, but shouldn't you run the A/C for 30mins every week? I hear alot of people say this and not sure if its mentioned in the manual. If ir is, may effect the warrenty if you have not run the A/C for months.
  11. .....and all automatics, no manuals. Just what I've been told. MMmmm think I'll stick with the current IS.
  12. OBD-II is a protocol, as also is the 9141 and 14230. There are others and each manufacture chooses one. Popular ones are; OBDII - commonly used in US vehicles VPW - General Motors PWM - Ford ISO9141 - Chrysler, Asian, and European ISO 14230 (also called Keyword 2000) Each have there own merrits etc.
  13. Thanks Fargo, I'll take a look. Still undecided what to do, I guess its a case of when I see it and like, thats what I'll do.... Yep - really a Kendo Man - been practising for a number of years now. I know - Im only human....
  14. I guess tram lining will be inherent to having fat tyres, especially on our poor road surfaces. Do you get this on the outside lane on motorays where the road is usally flat? Not the other two, as the wagons have made grooves and will definately cause tram lining on 225 tyres.
