  1. yeah - not sure how but got the car mid-may and last week an engine oil and filter message came up - circa 9000 miles
  2. Mine is going in for its first service today (2 months after i got it) and I have asked lexus coventry to upgrade the Nav to whatever is the latest level of code. Fingers crossed its an improvement on the version i downlaoded from my lexus a couple of months back
  3. Rant on : While I am mega happy with 99% of the things about my F-Sport, I am getting increasingly annyoed at the rubbish Nav system. I travel a lot and spend majority of my travel time on the phone and trying to avoid traffic jams so the poor implementation of these is really starting to annoy me. Especially as I had a 'basic' nav in my merc and that was 1000% better. Main issues : Phone signal drops the connection in all sorts of blackspots where my merc never did Text transmision to Nav randomely works and randomly doesn't (samsung galaxy S3) Texts don't include name of sender but just the number Bluetooth audio randomly stops working after interruption of a call/text and car or phone needs a restart to resolve can't seem to get decent traffic info - even with the internet access and the constant looging into the portal reqt There is also other minor stuff but I can't believe I am already regretting getting this car as everything else about it is so good. This is the most expensive sat nav option around and the worst implementation. Rant over
  4. I have done around 3000 miles in the last 5 weeks and am driving gently (rather than super gently) and rarely do a trip below 50mgp - either inner city or motorway. Quite happy really F-Sport model that is
  5. Another dumb question... Where is the trip computer showing miles travelled etc. I can see all the mpg figures and the total odometer but the counter for simply how many miles you have travelled on a particular journey seems elusive
  6. Thanks, I have switched this setting On and will test it today when I get in the car
  7. ps whjere is the digital clock as i have been looking for it everywhere...
  8. So, 1 week and 1000 miles done. I have been very light footed and my average so far is 52mpg. This includes 4 long trips and 4 shorty + town centre trips. No complaints so far and am getting used to the differences in this car versus my merc. Can't get the online stuff working (traffic etc) as I keep getting an erro after i select 'bluetooth' or 'wirelss' to get these features. I probbaly need to read the manual. Phone works fine though does occasionally fail to connect with car so a stop/restart is needed. can be annoying. I did do the s/w update to latest level on mylexus Other than that its all good
  9. Thanks. can't believe its that simple and will try it as soon as i get in the car
  10. I can't find any settings that will give me a 3D option so any clues how i get it? Just about to try the upgrade to 'D' so maybe 3D will come with that
  11. So, got my ultra blue 300H Fsport on monday and thought i'd post some initial impressions Firstly stunning car and better than i remembered when i did a test drive in Dec. Blue looks phenomenal in the sunshine I had the standard sports seats as prefereed to spend my 2k on the Nav option. No regrets as the seats are mostly leather and full electric so not really missing out. The keyless stuff is brilliant, even though i keep getting into the drivers seat with the keys in my hand. Visibility is good (versus my E220 Coupe) and the reversing camera is just so good and parking is now dead easy. The electric motor and engine are both really quite and I find there is less noise than my merc The cruise control is taking a bit of getting used to as its on the opposite side to my Merc and it doesn't seem to allow you to go up/down in 5mph increments as far as i can work out Not yet fully played around with the SatNav yet but the basics all seem good. I am trying to get the traffic feature enabled via the website at the moment so that will help. I found various options around wireless but not sure what I am supposed to do with that at the moment. Onto the hot topic of 'phone integration'. My samsung S3 paired easily and the contacts got transferre but it seemed to only pickup one number per contact rather than the mutiple numbers in the phone. I'll have to look into this. The SMS stuff is brilliant and am impressed with the voice readouts I was wondering why there were so many compmaints about the phone until I got into the car for a journey and found it simply wouldn't find or connect with my phone and froze when i tried to 'add a phone'. This was very annoying as I was on the move and just couldn't get the phone working so I did a stop/start of the engine at some traffic lights and this fixed eveything so I was OK for the rest of the journey. Not really acceptable and I am going to have to look at all the stuff about Updates in the other thread. Fule Economy. I have done about 250miles of which 200 was motorway and 50 inner-city including crawiling around central london. I have been driving extra cautiously and not speeding etc and have achieved 52mpg including a lot of electric only driving. Very impressed but expect it to come down as I drive a bit more 'aggressively'. A few minor gripes.. Aircon.. I'm not a big user of air con in summer or winter and noticed that it seems impossible to shut it off without actually closing the vent. If the vent is open then whether its on low speed or switched off, i can still feel the air coming in... Not sure why this is the case but it is bothering me so will have to play around a bit more as i'd rather not have to open/close vents. Glove box is tiny and has zero space once you put the handbook etc in it so need to find somewhere to store my junk. The cup holders are a bit inconvienient as they seem to be behind me as i have the seat in a very forward position. All in all I am extremely happy with the car and my decision.. ps i get more people admiring the car than ever before...
  12. where is my delivery guy as lexus said 'monday morning'......
  13. Mine is due on monday - will be delivered on truck so doubt i will get the dealer 'experience' Ultra-blue F-Sport with Nav Will be sad to see me E220 coupe go
  14. This discussion is making me nervous as my car is due imminently and I relay massively on being able to make phone calls while travelling so i need this area to be reliable. I felt my test drive car was fine and synched well with my samsung S3 so thought all was well until this thread. I am hoping that its the usual case of a few people with problems generating a lot of discussion with the majority being fine and hence quiet.. I doubt my lease compnay will entertain the idea of swapping the car just because of this so I am fixed for next 2 years. Maybe I am worrying unnecessarily and it will all be fine.. Fingers crossed..
  15. Nothing more than a 1 liner from the leasing company stating they will provide additional details when available. I was all psyched up for receiving it on friday (when current lease expires) and hope its just a delay of a week rather than any more.
  16. My 300H Sport in UltraBlue/Nav was due 'early May. but has been delayed till 'mid May'. Lets hope that its not too much later. Actually ordered in Dec but delivery has to be after my current lease expires next week
  17. My 300H Sport in UltraBlue/Nav was due 'early May. but has been delayed till 'mid May'. Lets hope thats not too much later
  18. I'm expecting my lexus in May so I hope all these tech glitches get sorted as I do need a fully working sat-nav/bluetooth/etc system..
  19. Done the deed and ordered the IS300H F-Sport Ultra Blue Nav. 4 months to delivery so time to try and forget about it for the rest of the winter
  20. So, I just finished a 3 day test drive o fthe bmw 420D Msprt and while its a very nice car with a lovely smooth 8 speed auto-box, I think I will go for the lexus f-sport this time round. BMW do know how to make a quality car with lots of delicate touches and an excepetional diesel engine/auto-box combination so it would also have been a good choice. The motorway fule economy was obviously better with 60mpg in sensible mode but the city driving was worse than the lexus (as expected) In the end its mainly come down to the fact that the lexus is a bit different and comes with more gadgets versus the 3 german options i looked at. Lease prisc wise there is not much in it. The quote I have is for the F-Sport in Ultrablue with Nav and the only compromise I have made is to not go for the leather seat pack as its just too expensive when I don't use seat memory type features etc as am the only driver. I had to have the Nav as its essential for my job and i can't recall the last car I had without a built-in nav option. The plan is to get a final quote on friday and then press the order button. delivery will be april as thats when the current lease expires.
  21. Nice one.. Berst figures I have seen on the forum so far
  22. In terms of range then I got 400 miles on £50 worh and that seeemed to be around 2/3rds of a tank so I'd say 5-600 mile range with sensible driving as guess. I agree that the battery was being used on motorways at various points but definatly much less effective. The diesels will give better mpg on motorway but worse in city so I would have to say that if anyones main mileage is motorway then a german diesel will beat the lexus hybrid every time. The opposite is true inner city. One of my friends bought a lexus 200H and ended up trading it in after 3 months for a bmw because he was a long distance motorway driver and felt that the 200H was not very good at all.. Obvioulsy his own fault for not doing a proper test drive...
