  1. From my own soon, and to be a lot lighter, wallet I trust you've first sorted out repairs for the owner whose parked car you damaged, before sorting your own car?
  2. What did you scratch it on? Another car?
  3. Spotted this a couple of days ago whilst researching insurance for test-driving cars for sale privately, now that my Lex has been declared uneconomical to repair Norwich Union will do you a 1 day insurance on anything under £40k (if it's below insurance group 18) for £10.50 - with a few fairly simple requirements; see below: http://www.norwichunion.com/short-term-insurance/index.htm
  4. Nice clean Blue IS. But those headlights are insane :D - having gone past you it looked like the Toureg in front of you had flourescent lights underneath :winky: ! What are they?
  5. Hi all, My IS200 has suddenly got itself a really squeaky clutch pedal. Clutch seems fine otherwise (it works!) but even when the car is turned off, you press down the clutch pedal there's a loud squeaking noise... seems to be coming from under the car (it's much louder outside). Sounds like I've stood on a cat each time I change gear.... Any ideas what might be causing this?
  6. So lets see... it only does good things. Improves performance, economy, reduces engine wear. And it costs less than a £100. Sounds like you can't lose, car manufacturers must be lining up to add these to their cars - so where's the big list of cars that already have these as standard???? Sounds like Snakeoil to me..... :yack:
  7. The result for anyone whose interested.... When I spoke to Lexus Twickenham and explained that I believed that the wheel alignment should be covered by the warranty I was simply told that their insurance company said it wouldn't pay for it. They made no attempt to disagree with my interpretation of the [bloody clear] waranty. So much for customer service - just got a **** "more than my jobs worth" type response - what do I care what *their* insurance company says, will they uphold my warranty? Crap. So gave Lexus UK a ring - explained the situation. Heard again from dealer in the morning.... suddenly they could do the alignment of the front two wheels under the warranty, but not the rears which they "recommended" I had done at the same time. Booked in for the warranty work and declined the rear wheel alignment. They replaced the steering rack today... and when I picked up the car gave me a nice little printout from the wheel alignment process - before & after where they'd aligned all four wheels! Oh well... guess it's the result that counts....
  8. Just had a voicemail from my local Lexus centre.... Lexus are going to replace my steering column under warranty - but want to charge me £200 for the wheel alignment "which needs to be done because we're doing the steering". Even if wheel alignment is considered "normal maintenance" given that they've said it needs to be done as a result of the warranty repair it should be covered by the warranty - at least according to their website. Has anyone else had similar? What happened in the end?
