hello , I have a 52 plate is200 and am suffering from gearbox noises , the gearbox is whiney in most gears especially 1 - 3, it sometimes clunks into 2nd and I am getting a bass droning noise whilst in 4th gear between 50 and 60 mph which is most noticable when the acellerator is released , this disappears when the clutch is pressed. I also get heavy vibration in the gearstick in first gear when accelerating. I have had lexus stockport recently look into this and the changed the gearbox oil and diff oil and added what they called a bung to the gearbox to reduce or eleviate the bass droning problem , this bung is what they descibed as a counter ballance weight attached to the back of the gearbox. None of these solutions eleviated the problems and I am now awaiting Lexus is suggestion to resolving these problems cheers

just had my 30000 mile service at Lexus Stockport Cost approx £184 with gold discount. Very professional service and included pickup and delivery to my works Totally satisfied

on the invoice it states "suspect squeak on brakes is handbrake pivots" will have to ask for a better discription when I take it in next week

hi just had is200 in for 30000 mile service and asked about skweeking noise when brakes applied. Have been told Lexus suspect the handbrake pivots have wear and tear and require stripping down and greasing. Is this an item I can have done under the warrenty as Lexus say is isnt covered ad is classed as general wear and tear , as my car has done only 30000 miles I am a bit worried that there is what has been classes to me as wear and tear on the handbreak !!! Should I demand this to be done under the warrenty , and has anyone else had this probelm with the handbrake pivots ??? Any suggestions would be helpful

these are small cracks in the profile of the lens will ask about them next week when car goes in for service cheers

WHAT APPEAR TO BE HAIR LINE CRACKS ARE AROUND THE EDGES OF THE LENS SO I WOULD HAVE ASSUMED IF IT WAS A STONE THEN IT WOULD HAVE CHIPPED THE GLASS , BUT THE CRACKES ARE SPACED OUT ALONG THE CURVED PROFILE WILL TRY THE NEXT TIME I AM IN FOR MY GEARBOX !! :tsktsk:

DOES IT ALSO FEEL LIKE THE GEARBOX IS ROCKING WHEN YOU RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR ? BUT YES THE WHINNING IS ANNOYING AND I AM SURE IT IS SOMETING TO DO WITH A BEARING !! I AM ON HOLIDAY FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS NOW SO WILL HAVE TO BOOK IT IN WHEN I RETURN WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW I GET ON !!

Was cleaning my car last night and noticed some small hairline cracks on the headlight lens ! when the glass bends to follow the profile if you get my drift !! the other is perfect , is this something I could ask to be replaced on the warrenty ? any advise appreciated

hell , £35 is a bit steep isnt it for the one on ebay ? that could go towards a full SS cat back system !! cheers

couldnt find any under is200 but found a few under chrome tip , but al had a burnt effect on the tail which i dont like just want chrome, any idea what the diameter of the standard tail is ? cheers

Hello all, My tail pipe is sadly being let down by the fact it doesnt have a chrome tipped exhaust ! I am holding on to get a performance one until there is a need to change it !! does anyone know if halfords ? sells these chrome tips ? cheers

HI I HAVE READ ALOT OF THREADS ABOUT GEARBOXES BUT NONE REALLY SEEM TO DESCRIBE MY PROBLEM, WHEN COLD THE GEARBOX SOUNDS REALLY WHINEY ALMOST SCREAMING. THE LOUDNESS OF THE WHINING REDUCES WHEN THE BOX IS WARM BUT STILL PRESENT THROUGH THE GEAR RANGE ! i AM NOW GETTING A DRONE IN 5TH AND 6TH WHEN FOOT IS TAKEN OFF THE ACCELERATOR AT SPEED ON THE MOTORWAY , ITS HARD TO DESCRIBE BUT IT A DEEP BASS HUMMING SOUND WHICH IS SOMETIMES LOUDER THAN OTHERS , TAKEN IT INTO LEXUS BOLTON LAST WEEK AND THEY JUST SAID IT WAS AS NOISY AS ALL OTHERS AND SUGGESTED CHANGING THE GEAR OOIL AT THE 30000 MILE SERVICE IT HAS ONLY DONE 26000 ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS AS I AM SICK OF IT SOUNDING LIKE A 1.1 FIESTA WHEN GOING THROUGH THE GEARS YOUR HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED CHEERS

Hello all, Has anyone tried the performance modification by Performance mod uk ? it is very cheap only £5 the package includes a resistor and instructions and claims to boost the power output of the IS. The resistor is inserted between one of the cars sensors and engine control unit. They are for sale on ebay of their web site www.performance-mod.co.uk ? is this just a gimmik ? or does it do what they claim ? anyone tried them ? cheers
