Hi all, My IS developed a knock while turning. I made several checks and found the steering rack mount rubbers defective. Can anyone tell me if the rack mount rubbers for the IS 200 AND 300 (mfg 2000-2001) are the same? I am buying the parts out of the US and as you all know they only have the IS 300 there. thanks........ Trinilex..............

Kazi, excuse me, but do you have the part # for the tensioner? Where I am at, that # is worth millions. There isn't a lexus dealership and the Toyota dealership keeps those part numbers in a vault somewhere. thanks.................trinilex

GREAT!!!!!!!! The only thing is my Timing belt part # is 13568-70110-129Y27 (removed front cover and checked). I will take these # to Toyota USA and see what they come up with. thanks.........Trinilex (see you in 2010 WORLD CUP)

The problem is, the US use a different engine 2JZGE, chassis: JCE10. I have the 1G-FE, chassis:GXE10R(European) which is different. I know if I got the part # I can go to toyota and purchase same. I was hoping that somebody European can help. trinilex..............

Hi folks, Some of you dont know but I am from the W.I. (No Lexus dealership here), Very soon I will be changing the timing belt on my IS. I am travelling to the U.S. soon can anyone supply me with the tensioner and idler part numbers. (1f-ge) thanks........ trinilex......................

I use the shell helix full synthetic, I change my filter every 5k and the oil every 10k. That works for me. trinilex.........

HEY!, mines get stuck on 'E' sometimes, then pop up after a few miles. Dont know about half way though... maybe it will fix itself....... :D trinilex..............

lol@ "old man". My IS does the same, it sticks somtimes when tank is empty, but pops right back up on full after driving a few miles. trinilex...................

Hello all, My wife ran into the back of my lex 2 weeks ago. Yep. I nearly died. She was following me home, I stopped at an intersection. She decided to cross the intersection before I did. CRASHHHH! She tried to pull away but caught the left rear corner of my lex. I drove straight home and pulled into my garage, pulled out the creeper and checked for structural damage. TO MY SUPRISE, NONE! I polished and waxed the car approx. 10 times with all the different types of polish I had (including mguires scratch x). It took care of all the scratch marks except one. As for the left hand side of the bumper that detatached itself from the body of the car? I used crazy glue to stick a torn hole then lifted, slapped and screwed everything back into place. I couldnt believe it. It looked just as new, except for the single scratch. I am amazed at the absorption properties of the lS Lexus bumper and the paint job too. I knew i heard a crash and the car moved forward. I expected more damage. I had a glass of sherry and made up with the wife. Trinilex..................

To make a long story short, I imported my lexus from singapore. The toyota dealership is not too happy about imports. They are less than welcoming towards investegations related to imported car parts and prices. There prices are much more expensive also. It would be cheaper for me to purchase the parts in the US during one of my regular travel there. I am building a database of part numbers. If I have the part # before hand, It will save a lot of time usually spent standing at the counter of a Customer Service Rep. thanks............ trinilex..............

After driving my IS 200, it is a different driving experience for me. I intend to keep the car maybe another 2 yrs. I am looking for a IS 300 or RS 300 next. Cant seem to get lex out of my system. trinilex..........

Its gone again, played good for a couple weeks after inserting a cd in, there was a whizzing sound and >>>>>>>.ERR3..... I have just about had it with this player. I am going and buy a face plate and install a blaupunkt cd player I have. I will miss the orange glow in the night but THAT'S IT! trinilex .....................

There was a cd in the player for about 3 months then suddenly it popped out. The screen showed that 6 cd's were inside. I pressed eject untill the cd in indicator was cleared and popped in another cd. It has been working fine ever since. .......... You can get a dash kit which allows you to install a radio/cd to fit. I found a kit @ www.autotoys.com Do a search on the topic. Its been discussed here so many times......... :duh: Trinilex...........

Hey!!!........MY Jammed cd suddenly popped out. No more dreaded Err3. This time i am only loading one cd at a time. Wish me luck....... trinilex.............
