  1. Hi. Wow. Many thanks for this. It is a great help. The engine is 1MZ-FE 3L. Is there a generic lexus/toyota model which utilises the same exhaust as I guess that exhaust fitting centres will not have this exhaust parts and most likely will need to go to Toyota. Any ideas. Thanks Adam UPDATE 2001 LEXUS RX300 (MCU15R-AWPGKW) EUR RHD 1MZFE 1998 TOYOTA HARRIER (MCU10W-AWPGK) JPN WG 1MZFE 2001 LEXUS RX300 (MCU10L-AWPGKA) USA WG 1MZFE These seem to ahve the same part numbers for the exhaust, so could I assume that a Lexus rx3000, UK 2001 exhaust system is the same as my Toyota Harrier 1998 (Jap)?
  2. All. It is time I replace my exhaust on the Toyota Harrier 1998 model. However, does anyone have the part numbers for for parts of the exhaust as I am loathed to go to my Toyota dealer. Thanks Adam
  3. All. I need a new tailgate bulb and cannot find the one in normal part shops. The bulb no is koito12v21/5w7443 japan 025 (or 825) Toyota Harrier 1998 import. Any idea how to get this. Do I go to Toyota or Lexus for it. ANyhelp much appreciated
  4. All. After taking my Harrier to Toyota (cheaper then Lexus) they investigated the problem and long story short, I have to have a new block etc, total cost £ALOT, NEW SMALL CAR PRICE :-) Picked it up, and drove home. Sweet, like a new car. Going back out later on, the car makes a funny noise and starts to judder. I manage to get it back to the Toyota garage. A few days they tell me that it is the springs that have been weakend and so they would replace them foc. Picked up the car last week. No problems. Later that night, car broke down. Took it back in and they say they need to investigate it. They are now saying that the 1998 Toyota Harrier engines and specifications are different to the Lexus RX300 2000 model. Is this true?. Are Japanese parts weaker then the UK counterparts?. It has been 5 1/2 weeks now without a car and I am getting to the end of tether. Does anyone have the address of Toyota head office as I have looked on the internet and seen so many. Feels better getting that off my chest Thanks
  5. Just spoken to a techie and they have stated that it is valve stem oil seals and it will take 18 hours at a cost of £2092. Can work be done at a non Toyota garage? Thanks for any response
  6. Well I really hope this is correct. I wonder if it has something to do with the Tesco petrol comtamination issue. Thinking back, the car did start to fluctuate on revs at standstill about a few days after buying petrol back in Feb?. We will see what the Toyota person says tomorrow. Many Thanks again for the promt reply, A.
  7. Thanks for the fast response. The performance does not seem to be effected. It sounds like tapping noises when driving up a hill, or when the car is under stress. The oily smoke has not been seen since. I thought that valves/tappets make noise at start up, not later on ? Thanks,
  8. Hi All, I have a 98 harrier which has done 70k. I noticed one morning, that there was a lot of oily smoke for a few minutes then it disappeared. I have not seen this since on start up. However, I have noticed that when the car has been running for a while, when I am pulling away or driving up hill, there seems to be rattling/tapping coming from the engine. However, when on a straight or at speed this noise is not apparent. Can any one tell me if this sounds like the valves/tappets. The noise is not there in the morning or when you pull away, only after the engine gets hot. Any help will be appreciated, as I am if it is valve replacing then I have been told I need to take it to a Toyota garage and they will change all 24 valves , which if my astra GTE is anything to go by many years ago, then I am looking at a large bill. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
  9. All, Is it possible to change the airbag logo or do you have to buy a new airbag if you want to change the logo? Thanks, Adam
  10. All, Does any one know what size badge I require/or part number to swap the JMD badge (1998 model) to a silver Lexus one? Thanks, Adam
  11. Terry, Just asked the question the seller the question. Once again, many thanks. Adam :D
  12. T7RY B (Terry), I have checked and they are 60mm. Thnxs Adam
  13. Wow, Thanks for the prompt e-mail. Where would be the best place to buy the wheel caps and badge?. From lexus garage or import/internet? Many Thanks again, A.
  14. Hi All, I have recently purchased a imported harrier 1998. It is a lovely car, low mileage and I am a true believer in Lexus quality now. I have some questions which I hope some of you can answer. I currently have the eagle front badge and was wondering how easy is it to remove and put a lexus badge on?. Do I have to replace the entire grill? 2. It has 16" alloys on it. The centre caps are toyota's. If I want to replace these what are the size do I require? 50mm or 60mm? 3. I currently have no locking wheel nuts, and I went to the local Halfords and found them very unknowledgable, saying that the yr 2000 RX 300 wheel nuts will not fit?, I would have to go to a toyota garage, is this true?. 4. The trip computer reads km/l and km/h. To convert this km/l to mpg do I have to times the figure in km/l roughly about 5? Many thanks in anticipation, A.
