  1. Luckily I live half an hour from Micheldever and I too run Goodyear F1's. :P I did have Michelins previously and they wore down really quickly. Something like 12K miles and I needed a new set. I seem to remember that there wasn't much difference in price between the two either! The Goodyears have been on for nearly a year now (12K) and still look like new. I am a pretty hard driver as well (as in I drive hard not I suffer from road rage and go round clubbing people!)
  2. Once again you lot have saved me a wedge. B) Over the weekend my CD player swallowed the Chemical Brothers, wouldn't eject them and then denied ever having them. It took me 45mins to get it to finally give me the CD back I remember reading a topic a while back where some one said the warranty had been extended to 4 years for the radio alone and as my car is older than 3 but less than 4 I thought I would ring the dealer and ask. ;) Rang the dealer who knew nothing about it but I mentioned I got the info from Lexus Owners Club and they got back to me confirming you boys and girls were right!! A replacement one is now on order. :D
  3. Mate, I remember exactly how I felt when I got mine a while back. :D I also had admired the IS200 from afar for a long while and was over the moon when I finally managed to buy one. I certianly haven't been disappointed and I am sure you won't be. Still a proud owner! :D Congratulations
  4. Ahh. My mate is a police man (Oh dear! Have I made a mistake admitting that) and he rang me the other day to say he had be given the GS430 to test after the guys in traffic had played with it. B) He reckoned the traffic boys had managed to get it up to 180mph on the motorway I hope that was on official business and not just plod playing!! Anyway he seemed chuffed with the sat nav Lexus GB had installed for the boys to play with. :winky: He managed to find his way home in it!
  5. Guys, I had a Unichip fitted and the rolling road showed 152BHP prior to installion and 173BHP after it was put in and set up. B) My car has an HKS Super Drager 2 back box and a custom induction kit to help it's asthma. Hope this helps you decide.
  6. Hi Mike, Welcome to the Club. :D Glad to see you have signed to Gold already. I think you will find it much more use than you first thought :) Enjoy!
  7. Unfortunately I seem to remember that Clarkson put it in the Seriously Uncool section because "Alan Partridge drives one!" However I also remember that he put the Fiat Multipla in the Cool section. :duh: An entertaining man but seriously misguided sometimes!!!!!
  8. Moving on to another question for Mark then. If the SC kit comes with a TTE piggy back chip is there any benefit in using a Unichip as well or does one cancel the other?????
  9. That meant to read "It isn't far from me"
  10. Hi Bex, Welcome to the UK. :D Is this car comp thing at a raceway called Thruxton 'cos if so that it far from me. B)
  11. I thought April's fool day was at the beginning of the month :D :D Surely this can't be true :duh:
  12. We both forgot to take a camera with us on the big day so I haven't got any photos to show I'm afraid. I started to upload these movies but realised too late that they are quite large. The one in the gallery is 7.3mb (Sorry STEVE). Scare yourself! To see the other MPG's go to http://www.norrisdesigns.com/ then select 'demo cars' and 'ND Videos' from the Feature cars section Enjoy! ;)
  13. It was bobbies I saw you at. :D Don't worry you did the right thing and went straight on. Well Rhaines you have a lot of guts to take your pride and joy out on the track in the first place. I witnessed some driving I wouldn't have liked to have been in close proximity to. A friend gave me a set of MPEG videos taken from inside the Norris designs EVO going round the track and it looks totally different from the drivers seat than it does standing on the bank. Mix that with some loonies in a beat up old Subaru estate and it 's a recipe for disaster. Great to watch though!!! Great pics too!
  14. That's good news Brian. :D After the problems I have been having with Poole branch :( I may have to switch and Hedge End will be easier for me to get to
  15. Wish I'd read this post before I went to Castle Combe today. :( I have just got back after going with a friend in his Toyota Celica GT4. Kept an eye out for any other IS200's but only saw a silver S and a green SE. No Teamlexus stickers though. Saw the MR2 boys (I think I even spotted Rhaines missing a corner but not causing any damage). Certainly didn't see Zee though. Thoruughly enojoyed the day just spectating! Fidgits - you must live in Calne or Melksham then????
  16. So Mat are you saying that you could remove all the CAT's, keep the Lambda sensors in place and the car would still run okay AND pass an MOT?????
  17. Hi Matt, I fitted just the pads for the cleaner wheels benefit you have noted and I certainly found an improvement in the braking performance as well. I believe they allow you to brake harder and longer and suffer less brake fade at higher temperature. I would definately say that fitting the pads and the disks would not be a downgrading your brakes
  18. Happy Birthday Si. Hope you have a good one! :P :D
  19. I asked this a while back and didn't get a response either. I think there are actually 3 cats (could be wrong); a pre cat on the manifold, one under the driver and possibly the rear box. Anyway my local exhaust specialist wants to remove the cats as he keeps saying "It'll fly without them" however nobody seems to be doing it and so I am a little wary. He reckons he would put the Lambda sensors back in position but I am not sure they would show the right readings if there were no cat in between them. Also not keen on having to struggle to put the cats back in again for the MOT if they were required to pass the emmissions test. Some guys at the Gaydon meet reckoned you could get a "free flow" performance cat but again nobody, as far as I am aware, has had this done! What we need is a techie to answer these concerns and explain it. Anyone care to comment

  22. Hi Frank, I eventually had the rear screen replaced and found that one side of it was hardly bonded the the frame at all. Of course due the the way the screens are put in you can't actually see that. It turned out that my car had previously been accident repaired!
  23. Many happy returns Dave :hocus-pokus:
  24. OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! That is bad luck and I know how it feels. I fought long and hard to get a set of perfect standard wheels on my car and then promptly kerbed it 6 weeks later. Aren't yours the ones with the black spokes as well?
  25. I have noticed the same thing and my car has had a aint protection finish applied which I would have thought would stop paint colour fading in certain areas. :o I'd be interested to know a reason for this as well
