  1. Hi Damer, I am currently selling my set of reburbed 17" rims with very nearly new rubber. I have PM'd you if you are interested.
  2. Hi Martin, The best thing to do is PM Chris Shipley (same username) who works in the parts department of Lexus Stafford. He has provided me with very cheaply priced goodies delivered to my door. :D Of course if you were to sign up to Gold he would be able to knock a bit more off however even at standard pricing he was still very much cheaper than my local dealer.
  3. I bet you can't stop smiling :D :D :D :D They look great mate! B)
  4. HHHHHHMMMMMMMMM!!!! What's the date today????????????
  5. AAAAAHHHHH so DarkIS works in around Canary Wharf does he That explains how he can afford all those mods :) :)
  6. I know you now UltraViolet. I wandered over to your look at you immaculate NSX when there were very few cars at the meet. I thoroughly enjoyed looking around the other makes at the Gaydon meet. :D :D I think the table/focal point would be a good idea but as you quite rightly point out Steve and the crew do put in an awful lot of effort to make the club as good as it is. I am not sure we all appreciate quite how much effort they do make however I am sure that if a few people volunteered to run a stand themselves Steve wouldn't mind. Isn't the site all about getting more people involved and spreading the word! Shall we mark you down as the first volunteer Wallace
  7. I personally wouldn’t be happy to travel without a spare tyre whether it was legal to or not. I was involved in an accident once that wasn’t my fault (honest) but left me with a rim so badly damaged that no amount of tyre weld would have got the tyre inflated again. If I hadn’t been carrying a spare it would have been a long wait for the RAC or AA. The strange thing is with this guy's Rover is that they have actually supplied a lump of black squidgey polytyrene in the shape of a tyre. I suppose a spare tyre will begin to be offered as an accessory? Weird :duh:
  8. There was talk at Gaydon of the legality of not having a spare wheel (Si Skippy) and whether just a can of tyre weld was sufficient. Well one of the young, very misguided, fellas at work has just bought a brand new Rover 25 and when we opened the boot it has a huge round piece of spongey polystyrene with a can of tyreweld in it and a pair of goggles where the spare wheel should be. Surely if Rover are doing this as standard then it must be legal not to have a spare............................isn't it ??
  9. How long does Mr Takakaira usually take to supply the goodies then?
  10. If it was the guy in the cream t shirt with a little boy with him then I think he said it got his exhaust done at a place called TopGear. (they have a website) I could be thinking about another guy though.
  11. Good point Matt, My thoughts are that EBC brake pads are a non performance or value adding consumable item and therefore not of interest to an insurance company. :) Interesting to note though that I fitted a mesh grill and the insurance company weren't interested in that however they would have been if I fitted a full bodykit. I was told the body kit makes your car more desirable to thieves and that explains the hike in premiums. What constitutes a body it?? Is it bumper + side skirts = bodykit (possibly)?? Or is it mesh grill + spoiler = bodykit (I don't think so) Clarification ould be nice!
  12. I too remember distinctly seeing the red S2000 acting like a Tw*T and another silver one doing donuts over the other side of the car park. By the way my 9 year old son took a photo of the Red S2000 as the guys rounded the corner after their drag racing stint. I was a little corcerned about him with all the kn*bs thrashing their cars about with no thought for others! The whole time I was at the meet I didn't see one Lexus driver misbehaving and I was there from 10 until about 2.30. Do we know what colour the offending Lexus was????
  13. I bet there is an awful lot of Lexi polishing going on today. :D I am just about to hit the chamios and get stuck in. Hoping the car stays reasonably clean on the way up to Gaydon tomorrow.
  14. Liam, I only got one key with my car and decided to get another. Hope you are sat down 'cos it cost £170 :duh: however if you lose the one you've got you will have to get a whole new management unit and that is over £2000. Steve (admin) reckoned you could get one cheaper by shopping round the dealers and I think he is probably right!
  15. Gaydon is up the M40 between Warwick and Banbury. ;) According to AutoRoute it is 111 miles from you but that's just a good excuse to cruise in your new motor!!!!! :D :D
  16. Hi Clive, My car is sometimes very notchy in second gear. I complained to the dealer and the mechanic said it is fine and that I wasn't used to driving with a "sporty" gearbox. # Eventually when it was in for a big service they replaced the oil but it is any different. :( They have mentioned a new clutch but are supposed to be ringing me back to book it in and haven't. Concerned that they will want me to payt for that as the car is very close to the end of its warranty period You are not the only one suffering this problem. I have noticed other posts concerning notchy and difficult gear changes ;)
  17. Hi Dboey, I just had a 60,000 Mile service and aksed for the cam belt to be changed. The dealer did tell me it doesn;'t need to be done until 100.000 miles but I wanted it doen anyway. They gave me the old one and it looked almost new. No signs of wear and tear at all! I will beleive them next time!
  18. Hi Guys, I bought a 2 year old IS200 last year and it previously belonged to guy who had abused the paintwork with too many automatic carwashes and a few minor dents. :( I took it to my local dent remover chappie and mentioned the swirl marks in the paint and the fact that no matter what polish I used, AutoGlym, Mer etc., I couldn't get them out. He offered to give it the diamondbrite treatment and I have to say I was very pleased . :D It was coated in the middle of last year and still looks great now. The car no longer suffers as many stone chips to the bonnet and it just takes a quick wash with shampoo to get it gleaming again. :D By the way I am not connected to Diamondbrite Ultrajewel in anyway!!!!! B)
  19. Just thought I'd add my tuppence worth. ;) I joined Gold out of curiosity. I didn't expect to use any of the Gold discounts but so far it has saved me about £250 in parts and servicing this past 6 months. :D My local dealer wasn't on the list when I joined but I mentioned it to Steve and he got in contact with them. :D The thing to do if your local dealer isn't giving discount is to keep mentioning the club and eventually they'll do the decent thing. ;)
  20. That is a nice motor... B) Whilst surfing for tuning parts I stumbled across a US company that do a manual gearbox conversion for the IS300. :D It is a real shame Lexus UK don't currently do a manual version of the IS300 as I am sure they would fly off the shelves. :)
  21. Hi Guys, I wondered where this post went. I thought Steve had disallowed it! Anyway, I wrote to R&A warning them that I was going to my credit card company and would be posting details of my experience with them on LOC with a deadline of a week. I have now received my refund and an apologetic letter (which strangely also included a line that says "we are monitoring the Lexus Owners Club website and you will be subject to a legal inquiry if you mention our company"). Shame they didn't make the effort to contact me before the deadline!!!! :duh: Looks as though the threat of LOC went a long way toward securing my refund. Power to the people! Thanks again for setting up this site! :D :D LOL
  22. Hi Si, I knew there was a reason the the 8th stuck in my mind as something important going on. Damn I missed it! :o Great looking under bonnet work B) but does the new induction kit mean that you now can't fit the strut brace????
  23. Hi Guys, If any of you are about to do any business with a company called R&A Designs in Grimsby I should think twice if I were you. I ordered some kit from them a while back and it took over 6 weeks to arrive. They miss quoted me the price and then charged my credit card as soon as I placed the order without telling me. Half the kit didn’t arrive and what did was wrong. They have received the kit back from me but are refusing to refund my cash unless their supplier refunds them. What kind of a service is that? Cowboys! I have had to contact my credit card company and have them investigated! Save yourselves the pain and avoid them like the plague!
  24. Hi Parthiban, The dent guy is in Salisbury, at least an hour from the outskirts of London, and the guy charged me £40 + Vat per panel for the dents and something like £75 +Vat for the stone chips (there were loads of them). It was £50 +Vat for the paint protection and he even repaired two stone chips in the windscreen cheap :D although I later found out that Auoglass repair them for free on your insurance.
  25. Hi Parthiban, I haven't used DentWizard but I have used a similar service offered by a one man company operating near me. When I first got my car it had been a little abused and had several dents, some quite deep. The paint was very dull, had swirl marks in it and loads of stone chips as well. I was amazed at the results when this man had finished. You will be really surprised at what they can do! He managed to get all the dents out, repaired the stone chips and coated the paint with a protective high gloss sealant. Good luck with yours B)
