  1. That is very interesting, I agree entirely that any fault (I am an ex Aircraft Technician) no matter how small or apparently insignificant at the time, as soon as it has a direct link to safety (brakes - tyres - suspension -seat belts etc) should be treated with the utmost priority and caution. Indeed, in the case of my seatbelt I will be asking for a front pair including pax change under warranty, and I will confirm in writing that if the lesser used back ones should fail in the future (or show signs of not functioning properly) they too should be replaced (regardless of warranty status). This has been an interesting exchange thank you all, I have to say that LEXUS have come to the right decision albeit a little late. I guess I was the first here at LEXUS Reading to report the problem but future concerns will be dealt with in accord with my outcome. I still thing LEXUS Reading folk are extremly good. :D :D
  2. Well LEXUS are taking my car off the road and loaning me another it is to bean IS 300 (nice). This is not an isolated incident and is a problem on the early produced cars, the replacement belt will be modified. The replacement will not be available until 17 Feb 06 at the earliest so there is clearly a rush. I will nee to ask about the passenger side and maybe they can change the pair. The delight of this forum is getting the information around quickly and may I say thanks to you all for your prompt, helpful responses good old LOC and its delightful members. :) :D
  3. You are right again, but it is tight around me and just a tweek on the front seat makes it so. Thanks for your concern though.
  4. Thanks for this you are of course absolutely correct, I am however legal because the belt failed to retract I can therefore fasten it around me, just like the old days before inertia belts were invented. I will however talk to the LEXUS chaps again. :) :D
  5. It happened to me two days ago the drivers seat belt failed to retract and is now loose all over the front seat. LEXUS Reading (good guys) put one on order told me Friday 10 Feb 06 delivery and fit Saturday. Just called back to say only two belts spare in the warehouse already gone and it looks like a bigger problem they are all beginning to fail, I will have to wait now until 17 Feb 06 at the earliest. Look out you IS 250 owners.
  6. To all of you that replied thank you, as the weather does get milder I will look for an improvement in response time I have found as always your comments very helpful
  7. Well, the length of time would surley be indicated by how cold it is ? I agree I agree but following the initial morning start it takes different times depending how cold it is for the temp guage to start to rise but the choke and high running is still on. I just think that the auto choke is just very slow to work but does get there all of a sudden, but thank you for your posts I am very grateful :D
  8. Thanks I agree it is the Auto Choke I am just interested to know if the length of time it stays on is normal and what the other owners experiences are.
  9. Hi every one I wounder if you can help. My new IS 250 SE starts fine but runs at 1500 revs for quite some time before dropping down to a steady 700 rpm. I note it is still at 1500 even though the water temp is climbing can other owners tell me if this is the norm. Thanks :D
  10. I am trading my Yellow IS 200 Sport with 18K on in the next few weeks to get the new IS 250 SE manual, it really is a different animal. The IS 200/300 is an absolute unique and fabulous motor car, and I do not believe all owners will necessarily go fo the new model. I viewed it as a new car and not as a direct replacement for my existing IS 200 Sport, all I can hope is that I have made the right decision. I am changing mine because I want a new car it just so happens that the unique difference of the LEXUS has once again captured my attention and I just know that it will prove to be just as great a car as my exisiting one. Onec I have driven it for a while I will post my thoughts and I will make comparisons with the IS 200 Sport. Peter
  11. If you dont mind me asking, how much trade-in are you getting for the yellow ? ← 13.6K
  12. Well I am about to get rid of her for a new IS 250 SE in Red, I will miss her very much. Peter
  13. Steve I love the design had I known earlier I would have worn such a T Shirt with pride. Peter
  14. I agree Yellow was an aquired taste but I have loved it she really does stand out, I cant get into any mischief though. I about to trade her for a new IS 250 SE this time in Red. Peter
  15. I assume you mean the Centre Parks up in the Lakes near Penrith that was mine I live down in the South in Wallingford Oxfordshire. It is a lovely car, I have to admit the colour took a long time to grow on me but now it has she is May 03 with 18K on the clock. Thank you for your comments ← I did indeed. We arrived on the monday. What made you choose the Lakes and not a closer one like Nottingham?? I nearly bought a yellow one, they were just avaliable when I ordered mine. S. ← Just love the area and take a trip out most days to see the fabulous scenery. I have just done a deal with LEXUS Reading to sell my Yellow Sport and get a new IS250 SE, this time in Red. We have been to Elveden Forest and Longleat but never Nottingham. Peter
  16. The car was one of a total of 53 (one for each UK LEXUS agent) Amarillo Yellow sold under the banner @yellow rose of LEXUS' quite naff. I bought mine on a shopping trip to the outlet centre at Swindon, where I went for a pair of shoes and came back with the LEXUS. It is without doubt the most fantastic all round car I have ever owned or indeed driven. It is an IS 200 Sport with 18 inch wheels and all the bits and bobs plus a nice body kit. Looks though that we will become a one car family in the new year so i have to compromise and get a car suitable to my wife and me, I will miss the yellow peril though. Good to hear from you. Peter
  17. I have only just seen this post but the Yellow IS 200 Sport ios mine I live close by in Wallingford and often pop into the diner for a snack thanks for the spot. :winky:
  18. I assume you mean the Centre Parks up in the Lakes near Penrith that was mine I live down in the South in Wallingford Oxfordshire. It is a lovely car, I have to admit the colour took a long time to grow on me but now it has she is May 03 with 18K on the clock. Thank you for your comments
  19. Are you meaning the stainless steel door sills? Prolex (trader on this site) sell them ← Mike - Thanks but no I was meaning the Fibre Glas Molded Trim that fits along the ouside of the vehicle I saw they were a good price but at the time did nothing about it. Peter
  20. Can anyone help me, I saw a while ago some car trim bits advertised and am interested in getting the side trim (door sills) for my IS 200 Sport. I cannot now find the site or section where it was shown along with other fibre glass trim sections at a very reasonable price. Can anyone help me please. Thanks in anticipation
