  1. hi lexus lubbers. my clutch is going to need changing soon. just wondering what i can expect to pay either by getting it done by lexus/toyota or a third party garage. and is it better to go the lexus/toyota garage route? the cost aint the issue, its the rip off factor that bugs me.
  2. Basically the same as a 40K service but with a plugs change. Can be pricey! £549.54 at Lexus Guildford where i purchased my is200. air, oil filter, screenwash, spark plugs, drain plug gasket and oil. The cost also included the M.O.T.
  3. everything that could make a noise is turned off m8. taped up the nodding dogs head to stop it knocking too. and no, she brakes as smooth as she always has.
  4. hi lexus lubbers. here goes. i am getting a distinct constant whistling/squeeling sound when my IS200 gets above 35 mph,it seems to stop when above 55mph. it sounds like its coming from the offside front as far as i can make out with head out window technique. ive tried emergency stops, but still here the noise until the car drops to around 35ish mph. i thought wheel bearing but wouldnt that make the noise all the time. as goes for a sticky caliper?? hope someone can shed some light on this before i get the sharp intake of breath from the local mechanic saying something like "this aint gonna be cheap!"
  5. I have to agree with you guys on the fact that the new shape -is- does look like a suitable successor to our beloved mk1. The interior looks nice too. Having been a 318is coupe beemer owner before moving up to an is200, I think we're getting the better deal as far as new shapes go. The new 3 series beemer is a bit of a minger to be honest.
  6. Funny you should mention that. When I'm across the border in Ireland I see a lot of the Irish cars have these. Must be a Euro thing? Also they have a chrome bar above the rear no. plate ← Any ideas on a place to start looking to buy these?
  7. Has anyone ever posted pics of the different available grills. Can you get a sport grill with a chrome piping round edges? Speaking of chrome, I've seen an is200 driving round my home town with german plates. This guy has chrome rings around his rear fog lamps. These really look the dogs. I'm just surprised that in all the pics I've seen on this site, no one seems to have these? Any ideas people??
  8. Very nice. Sat in and had a good look around one at the showroom when I picked up my is200. Very plush.
  9. nah man.... you got it all wrongggg,,, now im not a budhist (nor religious in any way) but buddhism i reckon is the way that EVERYone should be living, behaving etc... basically its all about karma baby.. you do good then goos will come.. imagine it if everyone did good, then your gaurenteed to have good come back on you... ← The film 'Pay it forward' based on the novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde, Sums this type of philosophy up perfectly. http://www.payitforwardmovement.org/ 'sigh' what a wonderful place the world would be.
  10. Rice Krispies still amaze me!! Just how they make them snap cracle AND pop is just beyond me! :duh:
  11. Damn! You beat me to that one mitch.
  12. Didnt mean to offend. Dont think I was tarring you all with the same brush. Unless you're a mother with kids that like to kick their doors open into people's cars. If you are then I'm off to get the tar now!! :P
  13. I'm a new member here myself, but everyone seems friendly enough. I aint gonna mention my first car either. Will say my is200 is my 6th car and my sweetest ride yet. Maybe someone should start a first car topic.
  14. Did you not test drive it first?? Someone I know begged me to buy their is200 auto when they knew I was in the market for one. Drove it once and I stand by what I've always said. "I don't do autos and never will!" But thats just me. :P
  15. That sucks mate. I get way too talking about this type of crap. I said as much in the supermarket carpark post. I had one like that on my old beemer. Went all the way from front wing to rear. Never got it repaired out of fear of someone doing it again. The people that do these things are the lowest form of scum out there.
