  1. Hi all, new to this forum. Just wondering if anyone has any advice. I have an old is300 estate, 2002. There are some rust bubbles on the bonnet, and I haven't got a clue how to tackle this - how would you go about it !? new (aftermarket) bonnet / scrap yard / bodyshop...
  2. Hi would appreciate if someone could help me identify what this is. Just noticed it this morning. It’s cold here in London. I popped my bonnet of my IS 250 to check screen wash level only to notice this white residue on the bonnet catch or lock. I am going on a long journey for the Christmas break, and am now worried about it. I thought it was a coolant leak and have checked that this is not the case. So I don’t know what it is. Thanks
  3. Hey guys, Is there a way to open the bonnet in order to change the car battery? The battery is dead and I can't open the passenger door manaully. A few years ago my car keys got stolen, and I changed the passenger door but the lock barrel is from another lexus. Otherwise, I will have to smash and replace the sidescreen :( Thanks
  4. Is there something missing from my Is200 ? Both sides have a gap -passenger side looks like some kind of adhesive markings. Should there be some kind of seal/plug. Please see photos. If there should perhaps a photo of yours would help me out thanks.
  5. Hi everybody, I don't know if my IS200 2001, is missing something from near the hinges under the bonnet ? It looks like there might have been or should have some kind of seal instead of gaping holes, there are sign of some kind of adhesive visible on the passengers side. This is on both drivers side and passengers see attached photos. When I test drove this great car at first they had kitchen roll paper stuffed in there ! If some kind member could put me straight and a photo of their Lexus I could probably get or fabricate something - THANKS
  6. Hey, just sold a bonnet, can anyone recommend a reasonably priced courier, speedy and safe, or if anyone has experience of paisleyfreight at all??
  7. Last weekend I went to visit a friend in Royal Leamington Spa. Parked my IS200 in a council car park and came back to find out that some scrote/s decided to Starsky & Hutch it all over my car ! The roof is warped though I have managed to pull 3 of the major dents out myself, but I've got 6 very visible flaws in the roof now, they also rolled over the front of my car scratching the bonnet and nearside wing also denting the bonnet in two places in the process, one of them right on one of the folds too. To add insult to injury they even ripped off one of my roof strips - the :tsktsk:! The police are checking the CCTV in the car park but I’m not holding my breath for them to be able to actually ID the blighter/s. Took it to Lexus Stoke (my local dealership) but the price they were asking for was > £1000 and would mean an insurance jobby, which I’m really not keen on doing as I don’t have protected no claims. So I’m getting it done at an independent bodyshop in Fenton which was recommended to me by a couple of mates. I’ll post some after pictures when it’s been filled and re-sprayed. Really not a happy bunny right now though :megaangry:.
