Hi All, A few weeks back my CT went in for it's Full 60 Service. I believe the plugs are changed at this point and I was expecting (if anything) the fuel consumption to improve. Bizarrely after collecting the car I noticed a drop in the reported mpg. I've always been impressed with the mpg of my CT. In mild weather I've managed in excess of 70mpg a few times (72.3 being the best on a trip to the coast and back) but generally I get over 60. After swapping to Michelin Cross-Climates this dropped by a couple but the improve in ride was a price worth paying. After filling up with E10 fuel last week the mpg has dropped further and on the school run where I'd regularly achieve 60+ I'm now down to around 54mpg. I've now just filled up with Shell V-Power a couple of days ago which is E5 and I've noticed no improvement. So considering I first noticed a decline in mpg immediately after the service I'm wondering if Lexus do anything to the car at 60k miles which would effect the fuel economy. Such as re-programming the battery/hybrid system in order to preserve the life of the battery. I'll likely contact the dealer and ask the question but thought I'd post here first in case anyone else has had a similar experience. Cheers.

Good morning All. The current dealership Extended Warranty is due to expire on my CT at the end of September. I will taking out a new 2-4-1 policy but just wondered what everyone's thoughts were on the 12 months interest free credit. At first glance it's a no-brainer but I'm wondering if there are any benefits to paying the entire amount up-front. If I take out the direct debit option and sell the car in 12 months, the warranty is paid for in full and I can transfer the remaining 12 months warranty (as far as I know) for a £25 fee. But in all likelihood I'll trade the CT in to a Lexus dealership for another Lexus such as a UX or an RX. I rarely pass up interest free credit for anything but just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Many thanks in advance.

A few hours ago I had to brake fairly sharp to a standstill on a country road. Nothing major. No skid, no anti lock brakes triggering. Went to pull away and engine kicks in but sounded awful. Seemed to lack power and there was a clunking noise. I've pulled up and called Lexis assist. AA turn up 90 minutes later and I asked him how much he knew about these cars. He said he never sees them as they don't break down. He replicated the fault and greed with me it seems to be transmission. Awful vibration with engine running. Just waiting for a flatbed to put the car in overnight storage and delivery to Lexus in the morning. Another 90 minute wait. I explained to the dealers I scoured the internet to identify a car that was reliable and great on fuel, nice looking and nice to drive. With a great dealer network. Everything pointed to the Lexus CT. So this is massively disappointing.

Hey Guys, My dad picked up his brand new CT 200h tonight from Lexus. He now joins the Lexus family. I will get more photos over the week during daylight. The car is Deep Blue with black leather interior along with tech pack and premium pack added on.

I'm not keen on car reviews really but Carwow's do have an interesting aspect of "five likes and dislikes", which are often fun and quirky. If we maybe limit it to three for each model, what are ours? For my wife's CT after 20,000 miles, here are mine... Dislikes The passenger side has too much plastic for a premium car - it's good quality plastic but still plastic. The DAB is an unnecessary rigmarole, with various ensembles making it awkward just to go through all stations. There is scant storage in the back - if you have kids/teenagers, expect it soon to fill up with wrappers, pens, hair bands, entry passes, safety pins, napkins... (spot who's just done a clear out). Likes The steering wheel is sublime; beautiful to handle, looks and feels good. You can turn the car off without shifting the gear lever. A subtle thing but it just works! The cover for the auxiliary/USB ports is beautifully finished - subtle things like that do add a premium touch. Over to other owners...

Hi I wanted to inform you that we are getting our windscreen replaced via Auto Windshields who are replacing our CT200 windshield as it was chipped when we received it and Inchcape are refunding us with the excess and has been approved by Lexus insurance. I wanted to ask as Auto Windshield are replacing it with the original glass is there anything which I should be aware of and also as all the glasswork has VIN etching can the auto windscreens etch the numbers or does it not matter. Also I hope that they refit the DAB aerial and auto windscreen properly. Please do let me know.

At great risk of going counter to one prominent forum member here, my wife has opted to go ahead and upgrade her 2016 CT Advance (20,500 miles) to a 2017 CT Sport Plus. Including servicing, this works out at the same monthly payment more or less, with a down payment of not much more than the amount she was about to have to spend on new tyres anyway. I would commend Lexus on being absolutely open that the deal was available because of the forthcoming facelift. My wife isn't really a car person, it is fair to say, so wasn't frankly much interested in that - even upon detailed analysis thanks to this forum! The Sport Plus variant adds half-leather, a sunroof and a reverse camera to the 2016 Advance spec. Pictures to follow upon delivery next week!

Awaiting my wife's new CT, bought clearly on a specific deal and thus a stock car, we are informed basically that the wrong cars have been sent to the dealer. Can anyone begin to comprehend how that happens?! The cars are allocated, loaded, in this case shipped - and at no stage does anyone notice they're not the right cars? Doesn't really bother us in this case, but strikes me as incredibly inept.

My household is theoretically the owner of three current Lexus models until the end of the month (see signature). I thought I'd do a brief review of each on the relevant thread, essentially aimed at helping people considering. Model My wife bought a CT200h Advance in March 2016. This is thus the facelifted model with regular satnav, cruise control, heated seats and front/back sensors; it lacks the premier options or extra satnav-related features (like reversing camera, leather or pre-crash alert). Interior I have very mixed views on this. The steering wheel is outstanding, in wonderful leather. There is also some nice quality padding. Passengers are generally positive about it, and I do like the overall design a lot. But there is far too much plastic in there for a so-called premium model, particularly on the passenger side. This leads to frustrating rattles too. (It is almost like someone gave up once they moved away from the cockpit and gear lever. A pity.) Storage is ok, although the cup holders have no grip so more rattles of you have a flask or narrow bottle in them. Exterior A hatchback, sorry, compact car is what it is, but I do like this one particularly post-facelift. My own favourite angle is the side. Infotainment The infotainment is packed with potential but doesn't really fulfil all of it. The satnav is good, for me; clear enough (although there is no help in the dash itself, unlike in rival models like the A3) and ok to use with the rotary dial once you get used to it. The radio is, well, a bit meh. Sound is ok but no better. The most frustrating aspect is the inability simply to flick through all DAB stations; you have to change between groupings (regional, national etc) or stick to six presets. An unnecessary and frankly incomprehensible rigmarole. Driving For what it is, a front-wheel drive small car, I personally find this ok. It's not exactly a hot hatch, but suspension is not the worst by any means. Progress is notably quite quiet, even at higher speeds but particularly around town. There is a hint of premium comfort even at this end of the scale. Just one slight issue is the incredibly small size of the hybrid petrol tank. Requires frequent stops, as you will rarely get much more than 30l in. Reliability Excluding an immediate satnav failure (sorted quickly and impressively by the dealer) and some idiot opening a door on to the side damaging the paintwork, there have been no issues at all and not even a hint of a problem. Consumption is quite good for what is in effect a 2l petrol - 53mph this summer, down to around 49mpg in the winter. (See other threads for comparison.) Summary If this were a carwow review, I'd suggest "consider". To be honest, I can't help but think that if you really want a premium compact car there are better out there; and there are non-premium cars which do most things this one does (with better infotainment). For all that, it is something different, the customer service is good, and it won't let you down.

My name is Rob, and on Monday I went all the way from London to Belfast to buy a Lexus CT200H SE-L Premier, and then drove it 492 miles home. Until last Saturday my daily drive was a 2002 Porsche Boxster 2.7 Tiptronic, and before that I had a 1987 Citroen 2cv6, so I had over ten years of open roof motoring. It's therefore no surprise that I really wanted an SE-L Premier with a sunroof but they're almost as rare as fresh dodo doodoos. The car is great although I'm now finding that the front screen demister doesn't appear to work, and I made the mistake of thinking that because the radio on this and the one I tried out last week at Car Giant in London had a button marked "AM/DAB" that they all had DAB radio. So that's something I'll do without as I've been told it's not possible to retrofit it without costing £thousands. Other than that, I'm very impressed by the car. I read professional reviews which initially put me off but then read reviews by owners who overwhelmingly were very positive. On my drive back home from Belfast I got about 45mpg which I was happy with considering that I just wanted to get home as fast as reasonably possible without regard to economy, and yesterday I achieved 55mpg on a trip to Brighton and back where I didn't push as hard but still stayed at the legal limits and very occasionally a bit above when I wanted to get past a few other pods of traffic. The only thing I don't like so far is the low bottoms to the front doors: the kerbs in my road aren't especially high, but they plus the road camber ensured that I scraped the bottom corners of both front doors on my first day back home. Fortunately Lexus Belfast supplied me with a custom mixed pot of touch-up paint. I particularly like the little surprises the car has which I didn't know about. Such as the lights beneath the wing mirrors which illuminate as I approach the car in the dark, and also the setting I discovered on the memory seat yesterday which resets the seat to my position as soon as I grab the door handle to open the car. I'd just like to add that I can't praise Lexus Belfast highly enough. Not only did they sell me the car for a lot less than any mainland Lexus dealer could offer, but I got it a bit less than the book price from even a non-franchised dealer. Without asking they also added a full tank of petrol, and on top of that they collected me from the airport and also shuttled me to and from one of the best places in Belfast to sample the famous Belfast Fry. The car I bought had been sourced from the mainland so also had a DVLA age-related plate instead of an NI DVA registration. The last owner only lived fifty miles from me so it's back almost where it started. In case anyone's wondering why I changed from a Boxster it's partially because it was about to start costing me a lot of money and also because after ten years of having cars I really wanted my wife and I agreed that as her car is also due for a change soon (a 2002 Honda Jazz) it's my turn to have the practical car whilst she has the fun one. I considered diesel cars but was very conscious of the fact that I think that in London at least diesel car owners will soon start being penalised. I'm also aware that although they can be as clean as advertised with regard to emissions, approximately 80% of models fall badly short of the claimed figures according to an article published last year. I'm no tree-hugger but can see that if I can achieve diesel-like economy on a cleaner emissions petrol engine then it's a win for everyone. And the only reasons for not buying a Prius/Auris were that I really wanted the dual-zone climate control and also didn't want to look as if I was driving a minicab...

I've just bought a 2011 CT which has the Mark Levinson sound system fitted, but only after buying it realised they don't all have DAB fitted as standard. I now have the chance to buy a salvaged DAB module from another 2011 car and so am asking how difficult are they to install? I'd also need to add a DAB antenna to the package. My local Lexus dealer told me it costs "thousands" to fit "because the entire dashboard has to come out". But here and on other forums I'm seeing stories that the total cost of the job, including the module, is around £550-£600. If it helps I am a very competent DIY car mechanic and have fitted quite a few alarms and stereos to cars in the past but nothing as complex as a CT. Thanks.

My wife has just collected a brand new CT200h Advance, which comes with Lexus Navigation (but not premium). On its second journey, having played about with the navigation settings, suddenly the system stopped working. If you click either "MAP" or go to "Setup->Navigation", nothing happens. Has this happened to anyone else?

There's a new CT200h Advance in the household, but one issue arises with the Lexus Navigation Audio Display re DAB. The DAB stations displayed are only displayed by the "ensemble" (e.g. "BBC", "D1National" or the regional one, in our case "N Ireland"). The only means I can find the change ensemble is to go to "Manual" and scroll through until I happen to find a channel in the one I want, and then go back to "Stations". What am I trying the achieve? 1. Ideally, I'd like the ensemble ignored altogether, with all the DAB stations simply listed (this is the case on my 2013 IS300h Lux with Premium Nav). 2. If that is not possible, I would like a much quicker way to change "ensemble". Any ideas?!

Very early impressions of wife's new car are very good. Certainly think the 2014 facelift greatly improved the car. Hybrid should keep the bills down, but will keep forum updated on that!

I've had a third gen IS300h since 2013 and delighted to say my wife is taking delivery of a new CT200h (Advance trim) on Wednesday, all being well. Have members any thoughts on what to look out for on the facelifted CT, versus other current Lexus models?

Hi there, just bought a new CT Advance Plus and wondered if its possible to connect a reversing camera into the AV channel on the sat nav screen? Think it would look better than the after market rear mirror type. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

I am looking to buy a CT200h, but I know Lexus revised the suspension in reaction to complaints over the ride. Does anybody know when this happened and how could I tell? All I have managed to find out is that it changed for model year 2012. I test drove a 12 reg car yesterday, but do not know if this was the revised model. The car a drove was the SE-L Premier which is the model I want. And yes it was quite firm, but not as bad as I was expecting. I need to know as my local dealer said he could source a car within a couple of weeks if needed so I want to make sure I'm not getting the earlier model that has been sat in a compound somewhere. I am not sure how they can source a car so quick. I think he said even a factory order would only take a couple of months...... I am used to Audi 3 to 4 months. Thank you
