Hi All, Can I get some opinions on tyres to put on my IS300h. I currently have Dunlop Maxx RT on all corners as I did not like the firm ride from the original Bridgestone's. They're not bad, but I find they wear a little quicker than other tyres I have had and they suffer from crawing (I think its called when it slides on the edge of the tyre when you full lock). I'm currently considering: - Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 6 - Bridgestone Turanza T005 (which I believe are new and softer than the previous Turanza's I had) Any feedback/opinions, would be great. Also, my car is an F-Sport. Front wheel tyres are 225/40/R18 rears are 225/35/R18 and are much more limited in choice and more expensive than fronts. Does anybody know if you can use 225/40/R18 on the back as well or it will cause issues? Lastly, I need to change a TPMS sensor. Lexus have quoted me £86 for the one ands my mechanic can program for another £40. Has anybody used a non Lexus sensor and did it work ok? Or should I not risk it? I find their parts are exceptionally expensive. It's £210 per sensor supplied and fit at my local Lexus dealership. Cheers, Ken

I had my car serviced, all was good apart from the tyres which will be due for replacement soonish. Currently running Bridgestone Duelers 235/55 R19 all round. These are fine, apart from some mild torque steer. The rears have plenty of life so only need 2 front tyres. Cross climates seem to be popular, any other recommendations? The Continental Sport Contact 5 and Dunlop Sport Maxx RT, appear to have good reviews, can anybody here provide any feedback on these tyres? Thanks in Advance

Well my TPMS warning light was on this morning again. I checked the rear offside tyre which had been down on pressure a couple of weeks ago and it was slightly soft. Repressurised everything was good. This tyre was soft a couple of weeks ago so must have a very slow puncture. As the tyres were checked on service on Friday it must be a very slight leak. Both rear tyres last week at service were deemed to be a little low on tread -scuffed on inside of both rears and N/S down to 3mm in middle and rear o/s 3.9mm in middle. since then I have covered a further 600 miles. I visited my local tyre guru who quoted £400 to replace rears like for like (Dunlop Sport Maxx). That would mean in a couple of months ( 4,000 miles) ,when the fronts needed changing another £400 to keep everything matched. total £800. He priced a few others and came up with the Michelin Primacy 4 which is a new model at £650 for four. In addition there is an offer with Michelin where they put £50 on a prepaid visa card for you if you buy 4 tyres bringing the cost down to £600. He reckons the new Primacy is a great tyre and is' A 'rated for wet grip. On that basis I have ordered a set as the Dunlops are original and have now covered 30,500 miles so I can't complain. Will keep you updated when fitted as to their performance.

May I trouble one of the experts for some advice please? Exactly 4 years I bought a set of 5 winter tyres for my IS 250. The car was new, and in error, I didn’t realise that the spare in the boot wasn’t a standard wheel/tyre as I’d had on previous cars. So anyway, I’ve had this unused spare for 4 years, and as I now need a new set of winter tyres I’m wondering if I can use the spare and just buy 3 to make up the numbers. I have read that tyres deteriorate with age, but should a 4 year old still be OK? It’s been sitting undisturbed in an indoor cellar for 4 years, kept cool and dry and in the dark for all that time. It’s a high quality Dunlop. Can’t recall the exact product but it was at the higher end of the range. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance. Fred
