Hi all. My 2015 NX with ‘keyless entry’ has started automatically unlocking itself when I’m near the car with the key. The handles are clean and the boot latch buttons seem fine. Car is locked but if I stand near it with either key it unlocks itself despite not touching the door handles or remote buttons. Does anyone know the cause of this and if it can be easily fixed!? Hey all again, I've been trying to program an additional key for my IS250 and I managed to get it connected, get the setup wizard started, tap my key on the ignition, tap the blank key on the ignition then my laptop says something along the lines of "now place the blank key on the passenger side seat" and nothing that I physically do with the key let's me progress, always ending in failure of the setup. I have tried arranging a visit to the local Toyota/Lexus technicians as I don't mind the small programming fee but they have been messing me about for the last three weeks leaving me with "best do it yourself then!" attitude... Hey, just a quick question for you all. I'm pretty sure the battery in my key fob is on it's way out as it sometimes unlocks the car and sometimes doesn't (mainly in cold weather). The battery that's in it currently in a CR1616, or somethin along them lines, but it alot smaller than the hole where the battery sits in. Is this the right one or not?

I have a small conundrum. It's not really been my week. So any suggestions welcome... I cannot open my RX300 with the remote. The little led on the fob lights up, I have put in a new battery. It's the same for the spare. Both won't make the car un-click and flash the amber indicator lights. I can open my car using the actual key, but that of course, sets the alarm off. I have trawled the internet and see the word, 'actuator', and my car is booked in for its MOT and service soon. But it's a question of, how do I get it there. With the alarm sounding I could also start the engine, so that might be a clue? So any suggestions welcome... 🙁

Looking to get a replacement key for my 2016 RX 450h. Its the push button traditional type. (Not the credit card type) i can get one from the dealers but wondered if anyone knows if a second hand one would work. Heard it needs to be coded to my car but does the key need the original vehicle present to have it decoded first? thanks

The plastic part of my ignition key has broken, unfortunately the part carrying the metal stem. I bought a complete new key blank from Timpsons but they are unable to machine the stem and I can't swap the new and old stems because they are cast into the plastic. Does anyone know of someone who can machine the stem? I know from an earlier enquiry that Lexus dealers will only sell you a complete lockset for the whole car at a silly price.

Hi, Has anyone acquired a used 'Credit Card' style buttonless Smart Key and succesfully reprogrammed it to their IS250? (Although that should probably read "programmed their IS250 to the key") There's one on eBay at the moment, not cheap @ £90, but the form factor is appealing and as I only have one standard smart key fob anyway.... It's a 'Denso' make, model number 14AEC (see pic) the same make as my existing one although that's a model number 14AAC. Any

Hi, My main ignition key casing is splitting. Bought a cheap replacement but hasn't lasted long. Asked Timpson's to cut the key to the new case but they refused to take the casing and insisted I pay them to provide the casing for over £200. Couldn't find many other places nearby that cut this key. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dave. -
Have looked about but can't seem to find what i'm after. Our 2004 IS200 only came with the two button key so I have no idea what the 3 button one was. Research leads me to it being a 4C type key with frequency of 314.4Mhz, but there is also some sayikg it could be the later 4D key. Can anyone help? Or do I need to do it from the VIN/read current key some how? Thanks

I've nearly always unlocked the boot on my IS300 by pressing the button on the key rather than inserting the key in the lock. Recently there has been a steadily increasing delay before the lock responds, which I assume may be because the key fob battery is becoming flat. My problem is that when I insert the key in the boot barrel, the latter will not turn. I've tried lubricating it to no avail. Any ideas, please? I want to ensure that I can unlock the boot if the fob battery fails completely.

Just got my GS450H (2012) and it came with only one key. Is getting a replacement from Lexus at a cost of about £280 my only option? Like many manufacturers they seem to delight in extorting cash from loyal customers. Anyone got any ideas? I am in Essex.

Hi my 200is remote locking and alarm activation suddenly stoped working. Press the lock or unlock and nothing happens, not even indicator lights flash. Central locking working from main switch but not from door lock with key. The car starts no problem. What I have done is replace battery in both keys. Both the light on key flashing bright. Tryed recoding key with 5 lock method. It gose threw the complete sequence but still nothing. Checked all 3 fuse boxes. Any advice as to what I can check or try or possible problem.

One of my RX400 key fobs has stopped working. The red light flashes when I press the button but the doors stay resolutely closed. I took it down to a lock smith who told me there was nothing wrong with the battery - it just need 'reminding' of its code - his term was: "its got Alzheimer's mate - they get that". He reckoned a 'how to' should be in the manual (its not) or on the internet - where all I can find is talk of finding iffy looking software. I obviously want to avoid a nasty spanking from dealer prices. What are my options please?

Hi, My first post as a new member, so hope this isn't too long winded... I have a '97 LS400, but only one key. The dealership seems to be able to supply a chipped spare key, but that won't activate/deactivate the factory fitted locking and alarm, for which I have a separate key fob (lock, unlock, boot release and panic buttons). They claim they are no longer available from Lexus. So.. is there a 3rd party key fob that I can buy and arrange to be programmed? The dealership says that if I buy a spare key it will unlock and start the car, but I will have to tolerate 30 seconds of the alarm going off (which is clearly unacceptable). Advice welcome

Hi all, I have an IS220d, manual gearbox, 2007 model. Recently my door locks started to play up. Here is what happens: I walk up to my car, try to unlock doors by touching drivers handle, I can hear all 4 doors try to unlock, but only the drivers door unlocks. Same thing happens from the keyfob, press unlock and only the drivers door unlocks. To open the passenger door and rear doors, I have to get into the car and flip the relevant lock, which is a major pain when several people want to get in. Once inside, the drivers door has a switch to lock all doors and unlock them. This is playing up too. I press it, and only the drivers door locks/unlocks. Tried the keyfob inside the car, only the drivers door locks/unlocks. Hi, Just wondering whether anyone could shed some light on this issue. I recently lost the only key I had for my 57 plate Lexus IS250 SE. I ordered a replacement and have had a locksmith and automotive engineer try to program this into the car with no success. I've spoken to Lexus dealers and head office and they are saying that the only way to get around this issue is to change 2 x ECU's, all locks and buy 2 new keys. The quotes for this work have varied between £3000 and £1470 which seems incredibly strange and even at the lower price seems extortionate for merely losing a key. Does anyone know any other more cost effective ways this problem? Any help will be much appreciated! Thank you

Hello everyone, So it appears as though my main key for my is200 has been lost. I only have the spare left. Now my spare key cannot open the boot as it does not have the remote unlock button and for some reason the key does not rotate in the lock. Is the circuitry in the spare key completely different to the main? So therefore I cannot get the shell for the main key that has the extra button for the boot and replace the spare key shell? Just thought that Id seen or read that somewhere. Any advice Id be grateful. Also I'm going to get my front wheel geometry altered by WIM this w.e. took my car to lexus and was told my new tyres have already had the inner tread chewed within a few months. Hope you all agree that this will fix the problem! Cheers

Hi everyone My central locking is busted and I just purchase a full lock set of a salvage yard.. Which everything I need 1 key Door handle with lock Steering colum , ignitions switch transponder Boot lock barrell ECU Central locking box Glove box lock Does the part number HAS to match my previous one Because the salvage yard said there lexus specialist and it doesn't need to match if you get the full locking kit But others say it has to match?? Anyone out there knows bout this ?. Please help my car is giving me a headache

hello. I have not been given a concierge key for my RX400h (07). Is there only ever two master keys supplied these days, and no concierge key that you can give to valeters or car park attendents? I used to have one with my old IS200. thanks Jason
