  1. Hi all, I had an issue with my 2013 is300h causing my air con to delay start while running some diagnostics in the background when I try to turn on the vehicle. This wasn’t the end of the world and was happy to live with it but then the cold air became warm. I was told the Gad needed to be recharged and so I brought it to have this done in a local auto air con specialist. He was happy to tell me it was holding Gad but there seemed to be another issue and they continued to diagnose for an hour and half. Then he came to me saying that they found the issue, the air conditioning amplifier. I got a replacement part and brought it back to the him. They then fitted it and explained it still didn’t resolve the issue and that they would need the vehicle for 24 hours. It now has a new error when started: ‘Check Grille Shutter System’ This error keeps popping up after you clear it, so it is pretty annoying. So, I have the replacement amplifier fitted and I would like to try the old one, just to see if it will get me back to the original issue, of just the diagnostics check and not the ‘Check Grille Shutter System’ I am finding it really hard to be without the car for a day as I have school runs to drop/collect three kids. Does anyone know the location inside the car of the Air Conditioning Amplifier, so that I can swap back to the original part? many thanks in advance
  2. Picked up my new NX Luxury in Mesa Red from Lexus Swindon this afternoon. No doubt it will take me a while to get to grips with the new navigation system and the touchpad, but so far it all seems very nice 😀 I must also thank Rob, James and all at Lexus Swindon who have been great to deal with - not to mention incredibly patient - throughout my trials with the previous NX Sport. Lexus UK also deserve thanks. The promise of this level of customer service is one reason why I chose a Lexus in the first place, and it's nice to see it is real even though I wish I'd never had to find out! I'm off to play with my new toy...🙂
  3. 10K report. Not much to add from the 5000 mile report posted in November and on the next page of topics. Very happy with the car approaching 12K. First service well past and oil maintenance message came up at 9800 miles. Car doing 42 mpg in December and early Jan. I put this down to lights, heater, windscreen heater etc now back up to 46 back to 48 50 soon as light and weather gets better. I tend not to reset the mpg trip often. I have a niggle on the phone with favourites still not holding in. I have had to push to get this taken as a problem but now it is being taken seriously. Tyres all worn evenly and 1mm more tread on front tyres than on the back. Indicators, 3 flash is an issue for me on motorways and duals, it gets messy right left right. This is being re programmed by Lexus and there appear to be some choices. Overall really like this car.
  4. Hi Friends After many years I sold my RX400h today. No repairs throughout and I must say it is one of the most reliable and comfortable vehicles with a class of its own. I had critics telling me the this hybrid battery will drop in performance etc etc etc. Complex electronics blah blah blah... I can say that throughout its life i felt no difference in performance or fuel consumption. These myths are real rubbish if someone maintains the vehicle and runs it regularly. Only down side I experienced was the standard battery that could die on as long vacation (Not the hybrid cell). Having said that this SUV is great pleasure to own. Specially when you do not have a repair bill for the entire history even after warranty! The forum was great to exchange ideas. I had few tips collected and shared a few as well. Sad to leave the Lexus and the club here. Now that I don't own one I don't think I can be here. For those who still own and plan to buy... it is a worthy choice after my experience of owning Mercs, PGs, Aus, and BMs with very low reliability. Enjoy. Nana.
  5. Hi, First post, cant seem to upload pictures so will try later. Ordered in June after fleet day, much impressed then with both the new IS versions. Also considered; Audi A3 sport back, A4 saloon & estate, BMW 520d, Jag XF, Mercedes CLA, C class. Also tried Prius + and two diesel hybrids. Really did not like the stop start on the diesel cars. I never take any note of the motoring press for me it is about the best car that suits the individual and in my case minimising the company car (highway robbery? ) tax. This car is perfect for me and Lexus should be able to attract many CC drivers if they get the marketing right. Lexus website comments from other posters - when I tried the configuration weeks ago you could select Nav but it did not update the total price. The info on the UK site was way behind the European page back in May, just when early adopters would be looking for info. Fish Brothers had published a dealers news letter on the net which I found very helpful. Tahara seats, decided not to go for leather but the Tahara seats look like half leather any way, will post a picture later if I remember. I went for Mesa Red as a complete change and it looked fantastic yesterday on arrival the gold flecks shimmering in the sun shine. Apparently the touch up paint is not in the country yet and it has a slightly different number from present version. Very impressed with the car but have to wait until tomorrow before it can go on the road :megaangry: . Never mind I can spend the next waking hours reading the extremely large manuals. Thanks to previous posters for info on the car.
