Another job ticked off the list. As it happens the fan wasn't all that dirty considering the car is 190k miles and 15 years old. I cleaned it with a small brush, a pipe cleaner, and compressed air.

Recently took ownership of a pretty well looked after 2010 Rx450h, Came with a full service history and runs like a dream, and I hope to keep it that way Being new to this part of the world I am looking for tips and tricks from other owners for maintenance and servicing, particularly in the Northern part of England around Cumbria. I've heard that third party garages are recommended for these older vehicles but not sure where to look. Thanks.

Is anyone on here running this BC coilover on their IS250? Mine came with 14K/10K springs and are expectedly stiff compared to stock; starting to think these spring rates are meant for the ISF or IS350. So far, the car doesn’t lunge forward too much when I bring it to stop. Currently rides like a bimma infused Fuji. You catch my drift? 🤡 They’re currently set at standard ride height with 15 clicks from stiff to soft all round. I didn’t mess with the preload. Haven’t dialled them in yet. Short of getting plastic surgery on my bum to help absorb the impact of bumps, some feedback from an experienced member would help. The aim is to lower for better handling and looks without shattering my coccyx. Thanks Frank

Hi, I'm new to Lexus and, as someone else has written here, am thinking of buying my last car. Various circumstances {including Scottish antecedents, and serious illness} mean that I really don't want to pay more than 4k for a car - but I kind of hanker after an RX400h. An optimist at heart I think that the engineering of Lexus may well provide for reliable service for 20 years and 200k miles - even the hybrid system which is warranted for 15 years given proper attention - wow!. So my question is what big bills might I expect from a 125000 mile old car with a full service history, and what are service costs likely to be given 10k annual mileage? Hope someone has the time to respond - and that this is an appropriate sort of topic for here.

Got a stonking deal on some spark plugs, Bosch FR78X Super plugs, knowing my GS is likely due a change soon, so took a punt. Got quoted over £80 from the garage just to change the plugs last year, and seeing it shouldn't be a terribly difficult job, decided this might be the cost effective route. Anyone had any experience of these plugs in a Mk2 GS300?

Hi guys My 2009 GS450H is due a 60,000 miles major service. I think it needs brake pads or discs replacing as well because it makes a noise when im reversing or braking. It needs a MOT as well. The 60K service is quite expensive at the dealership, approximately £600 + all the extras. My question is whether it would be possible to do this service at an independent specialist and if so where is the best Lexus indy in the west midlands (Birmingham/Coventry area). What kind of savings can i make. Thanks I

Hi All, I have just graduated from IS200 to IS250. :) I am delighted with my new car, a 2008 IS250 SR. I have wanted one of these for a few years and read up on them extensively. I just wanted to know if there are any hints and tips that you can offer from the group's collective experience. I understand the mechanicals are pretty bulletproof but what mods and additional maintenance works well with these cars?

My 07 RX-350 is just coming up for its 50,000 mile service, the dealer has informed me this is a big service! I'm not sure what that means other than the price - around £750. I was wondering what other RX-350 RX-400 owners experience was or what was meant by a big service - it is needed all day

Hello all 2001-is-300-sports cross- 70kmiles Thank you to all those with help with the above topic. During post purchase inspection it turns out that my warning lights came on because the brake fluid was low, but near the phisical minimum level. As soon as I topped it up the lights went out. It also turned out that I have a leaking front n/s break caliper. further inspection revealed that the rear os inboard brake pad had rusted itself to the caliper body and that side of the disk had heavy rust deposits. I suspect the above problems have come about because the car spent some time in storage hence the year and low mileage. I very much the above is of help to fellow members.
