  1. If I'm not mistaken, since 2014, Lexus has started providing a free service which (at least in Italy) is called "Lexus Connected Services". I think I first used it on the IS250, then on two IS300H I had (the last one MY2017), and it is still working on the CT200H MY2017 It wasn't a type of advanced service as I believe is now provided on new cars, but certainly very useful: indication of petrol pumps with prices, available parking spaces in a certain area, even with the price per hour. Weather information and the photographic view of the arrival point of a route were entered in the navigation system, through "Google Street View". Very importantly, once a route was entered, if connected to the Internet, the navigation system changed the way roads and highways were displayed, adding a colored frame to the route and providing updated information via the Internet, rather than only that of the navigation system. Now, these functions are also present in my 2019 RC300H F-Sport, with some small additions, which I believe are related to the third-generation Navigation system, which has changed in the meantime (although I preferred the previous one, in terms of graphic clarity, I had on my IS300H MY2017). For example, the new functions also provide the "reporting of speed cameras on the route" just clicking on an icon (displayed at the bottom of the map) by adding them to a sort of database, so that other users could, in turn, see them on the route. As said, this feature appeared with a speed camera symbol in the lower right corner of the MMS display. From the first week of August, I began to notice that the system was struggling to connect to the server, in fact, I was getting a :500 message on the display (from what I know :500 error is related to the server) Furthermore, after these messages have occurred and the car has started to connect to the server again, the speed camera icon at the bottom right has disappeared, and a "SERVICE GONE" message appears on the display a few minutes after being switched on. I assume this is to communicate that this service has been deactivated. Has anyone else experienced the same situation? Do the "old generation" connected services still work well in your area? Or maybe Lexus is turning off the connection to "older" cars? Of course, I contacted Lexus by phone: They told me there was some problem with the new system, but they seemed to not have known that before this actual system, there were the "old" connected services, and they did not provide any info. Thanks for your attention
  2. Hi guys, So I hadn't initially noticed, but after having passengers in the back of my 2006 is250 today I noticed that the air con (or heating for that matter) doesn't seem to be working, I have nothing blowing out of the rear air vents, I wondered if anyone else had a similar problem that they had managed to fix? It works fine on the front, if anything it's not ice cold like my old 3 series was and more on the warm side, but when I bought the car none of the controls were working due to a faulty mark Levinson unit, so I put this down to it needing to be regassed Regardless, I still have air coming through the front air vents, heated and ventilated seats work fine, but nothing in the rear. All controls are working on my my new Mark Levinson nav unit and surrounding heating controls albeit the touch screen is a pain to use, and I actually never use it for navigation because it seems so outdated and takes so long to input addresses and locations in, using a phone is a lot easier, maybe outdated firmware that needs updating? Not even sure if updating will.make a difference but the thing just feels a bit old and tired, even the interface, I also have no clue why the car was listed as a MM from stock as it has no DVD function, I'm assuming the MM stands for Multi Media, do some of the ML systems not have the DVD function? Went a tad of subject but these are a couple of issues going down at the moment for me and thought I'd put them out there to see if someone can give me some pointers 😀 Thanks guys, - Mitch
  3. Hello everyone, I've been reading the forums for a while now regarding all kinds of topics concerning the IS 250, but I seem to have an issue that I have yet to find a solution to. I have an '06 IS250 with the navigation unit. I'm not from the UK, but I bought the car from there last summer. The issue I'm facing is that some of the climate control buttons are not working most of the time, I am referring to the ones seen here: https://prnt.sc/10iy5hr This is a pic I found on the net because I'm not near the car at the moment, however, the navigation unit is exactly the same as this one. The highlighted buttons are the ones that I'm having issues with. To elaborate further, the green indicator light and the buttons themselves do not light up when I turn on the lights at night. The Auto button and Rear heaters button will sometimes work, as long as the car is in working temperature. The Off and Front defog button will work very rarely, and the Circulation and Cabin vent buttons have never worked. I once had all the buttons light up at night, though this wasn't under any specific circumstance, they just simply lit up, though the Circulation and Cabin vent buttons did not work at all. Even when working, the green indicator or backlight do not light up. As far as I am aware, the previous owner had someone change the navigation touch screen because of issues and I guess that something may have been damaged during the assembly/disassembly. I'm ruling out a fuse as the issue, because if that was the case, the buttons would not be working at all (and I assume the entire navigation panel). I've researched a lot regarding this issue, though I have yet to find any information on this specifically, the issues I've read about were mostly all buttons not working, or the entire unit. Now, the AC works without any issues when controlled with the touch screen, but I obviously can't use all functions without the physical buttons and can turn the ventilation off only using the Voice command. Up until now I've just tested some basics such as removing the battery for half an hour, pressing the buttons under different angles, restarting the nav unit. I previously posted on a different forum and one member suggested that this can possibly be repaired, but would require taking out the navigation unit and taking pictures so that he can confirm. At this point, I'm rather reserved on taking out the entire unit for fear of damaging it and the dashboard. (The previous touchscreen repair has damaged the dashboard a bit, unfortunately). I've also checked on purchasing a new or second-hand unit, but the cost is quite high and would like to avoid it if possible. I'll be heading to a Toyota/Lexus dealership next week for a firmware update and some basic diagnostics and will make sure to ask them about this, though I would assume that they will suggest replacing the entire unit. I will greatly appreciate any provided information and suggestions on how to troubleshoot the issue without taking out the unit if possible. Cheers
  4. Hello everyone, A previous owner "canceled" (cancelled) an update to the Navigation system. Probably because it takes nearly two hours with the ignition on. This has caused a problem because the machine refuses to update until the previous update is completed. Is there a way to set this up to a default so I can start again and update with my update? Many thanks Great forum Kingell
  5. This is my first Lexus, new RX450 bought about 3 weeks ago, and all going well so far. The one area that seems quite disappointing is the Lexus Link to car type facility. Having been used to Range Rovers and Mercedes the facility seems quite primitive. Prepared to accept that it may be me being incredibly thick of course. I have: Loaded the Lexus link app on my smartphone and entered the multimedia details from the car I have a Lexus user account I have linked the phone to the car using both bluetooth and the phones wifi hotspot I have created a few journeys in Lexus Link and it says they are synced with the car but I can't seem to find out how to download. I get as far as trying to log into the car with my Lexus userid )email address) and password but the username appears character length restricted (looks like 16 characters) at which point the keyboard goes inactive. It feel s like I am missing something obvious but I can't see it. Anybody managed to make it work? Gratefully appreciate any advice Many thanks
  6. I have a new Nx330h Premier (December 2017). It is fitted with the Premium Navigation system and it displays a curious fault. When the map is configured to display two maps side by side the smaller map shows a dark area on the left hand side. This only happens with the small map. The camera display is perfect and if the navigation system is showing the lane guidance there is no mark. You can see the mark over the village of Stretton. It is independent of the contrast or other settings. I took it into Lexus Wolverhampton for them to look at and worryingly the courtesy car displayed the same fault. Indeed two other vehicles did the same. So, has anyone else spotted this, or has got the Premium nav pack without the effect. I don't regard this as satisfactory but it would be nice to know that I am not alone.
  7. Hoping to get some advise on upgrading my IS 250 Sat Nav. It’s a 2010 vehicle so I need to upgrade the disc. I’ve googled but have found a lot of waste of time sites.
  8. At last The Lexus Portal reports an update for the navigation on my GS450h Premier Gen4 (2012)! It now gives 02-16-50 as the latest version for my EMVN (11HDD) model navigation. I still have the original 2012 version (12-02-00 (2011-11-0) installed but the up to date version when I bought the car was 2015-05-1 which indicates they seem to have changed the version naming format. Establishing what the latest update is seems difficult and inclines me to wonder if the information one receives is always accurate. The garage where I bought the car claimed that they could supply me a updated data from early 2016 but the Lexus Portal has remained with the 2015-05-01 until very recently. I contacted Lexus tech staff through the Portal but they just referred me back to the garage. One wonders if the tech staff don't know who does. I'm tempted to get this latest update since I have a deal with the garage to get it at half price because of a misunderstanding when I bought the car but £80 is still quite a chunk of cash for a piece of software which will soon be out of date on fairly clunky bit of kit (although the GS screen is great and I like the voice guidance). Google Maps on my mobile seems brilliant - I can even tell it verbally to provide the route to somewhere and it does it quite well. I also understand that Sygic is good for Android at about £17.50 - £29 depending if one wants only European maps or World coverage and either the standard system or the one with Traffic information (The maps can be downloaded and don't need an internet connection - I think the latter is only needed for Traffic). So how can I get my mobile screen displayed on the car's screen and controlled by the car's remote touch/steering wheel? Viastech provided a system for the Gen 3 GS and I've picked up rumours about BeatSonic, MirrorLink and Grom but don't know anything about them. Has anyone experience or advice on how to do this and how well it works? I like the Lexus screen and I don't really want to have to clamp the phone to the car and have charging wires draping all over my lovey interior.
  9. Whenever I start my car the navigation screen greets me with the navigation menu which l have to exit out of if l don't want to use sat nav. This wasn't the case with my Is and looks can't find anything in the menus to alter this. Any ideas very welcome.
  10. Hi, Apologize in advance for my bad English, I want to share some this situation, hope to have some suggestion. I have experienced strange behavior of the multimedia system on my two weeks old IS300H MY2017 Premium. In few words, with the previous IS300H I had (MY2013) after the welcome message, the navigator screen appeared without any data entry window, ie: it was ONLY the map, the user who needed to enter a destination went to MENU and started the process. Also, with the previous IS when using the reverse gear, the screen of course changed with the camera view, and when it returned to Drive gear, the screen come back to the previous setting screen (Maps, Radio, etc.) now in whatever way the display is set (such as Radio or the air conditioning screen or any other option available) when I come back to drive gear the screen go back always on the maps, with the annoying menu open on the screen. So I have to go out form map screen, go back to the general menu, select again the radio or any other screen I have set. I hope the movie uploaded can help better than my poor English. Could someone tell if is possible to change this setting? I've clearly downloaded the detailed multimedia manual from the Internet (the one in the car is poor and almost does not talk about multimedia, just a few generic pages) but they do not mention this thing, I suspect there is another bug in the software of my multimedia system, as the same of the connected services (from Lexus still is not responding me) ... anybody can help me to understand if this is normal for the new software or are willing to try in his car? Thank you in advance! Accensione_IS300H.mov Retromarcia_IS300H.mov
  11. Hi all, Does anyone know how to change the date and time on the navigation system? It's on the pre facelift version I want to know. I've looked at the manual and found the time zone setting but even adjusting that it's not correct. It's bugging me bigtime!
  12. Hi All, has anyone updated a rx400h nav screen and Mark Levinson hi fi to the later one which has the 'AUDIO' button in place of the 'CLOCK' button on the earlier versions? I have a '06 RX400h and would like to update it but maybe someone out there has already tried? Any pit falls? can it even be done?
  13. My wife has just collected a brand new CT200h Advance, which comes with Lexus Navigation (but not premium). On its second journey, having played about with the navigation settings, suddenly the system stopped working. If you click either "MAP" or go to "Setup->Navigation", nothing happens. Has this happened to anyone else?
  14. I wonder if somebody has gone for the "standard" navigation instead of the premium and has found things that were not know to be missing on the "standard" one? I myself went for the standard and the first surpise was that the "navigation" tab on the multi-information display is only available with premium (so no guidance/compass for me on the multi-information display) Anybody has found anything else that came as a surprise? Dom.
  15. Hi guys. I have a Rx300 2004. It's not the original but the one Inbetween rx330 and original. I think XU30 chassis. The navigation system on it is kaput. It displays a cannot read disc error regardless of the 5+ discs I have tried in the last few weeks. I believe it is a generation 1 device? Any ways after doing a lot of research and thinking I have found that the drives have a tendency to stop working, either cannot read disc or no disc inserted. I have found a replacement 08862-00840 which appears to have the same connections on the back, albeit in different places. Will this work with my car. Will it continue using the same gen1 disc... Many thanks in advance for all your help. Zain
  16. Hi, I hope someone can fill in some blanks for me as only recently bought this car. 2004 Is 200 sport UK model. The previous owner, for some reason, removed the sat nav. Then replaced it with the standard flip up parcel tray. I have a button by the gearstick saying TM but of course doesn't do anything, plus i have a cable that comes from under the dash and over the top, with a sensor at the end. Is that supposed to be there or is this something maybe left over if they had their own satnav in there instead? If so, can the wire be ripped out or will it affect anything? How much would it cost to have someone fit a 2nd had lexus nav back in? If i had lexus nav put back in, i prob wouldnt use it though(!) i am just thinking of the cars resale value, not that i plan to get rid of! Thanks
  17. Hi everyone! Something went wrong with map update in my 2006 Lexus IS250 :( Before update I had East Europe 2012-2013 inside (propably E15, I can't remember) and it looked like some copied and lightscribed DVD. I decided to burn the E19 East 2014-2015 on Verbatim DL DVD. I did that, seemed ok until I inserted the disc into the nav. First screen went blank, then a screen appeared. There was something like "system updating" and the progress bar. After that it said "map loading" and then "unable to read data". Even the 2012-2013 doesn't work anymore :/ Only DVD that works is the factory DVD with maps from 2006 :( I tried to burn the disc on various DVDs, using various settings, but none of them worked. Sometimes it says "No map DVD" and sometimes "Unable to read data" Please, help! Any ideas how to fix this?
  18. I've encountered numerous Petrol stations that are showing as a POI but are no longer selling fuel, just cars, or are an established shop or some houses. When I look at old google maps and street view they are not there 5 years ago so really cannot trust this feature, where do Lexus get this data from, the doomsday book? I accept things change but 5 years out of date? I can live with the icon showing Shell when its BP but as I'm not in a deLorean I will need to buy fuel at some stage. Anyone got any tips on time travel or how to get this corrected
  19. Hi there, I opened the navigation screen box and could see on the electronic board an unused four wire plug... It really seems a touch panel 4 wire plug. The problem is I can't recognize if there's a touch panel controller over there. And in case of positive response I don't know if it can drive any type of touch panel or need drivers. It depend on the operative system. Anyone of you knows about it? My conclusions are that if they placed there a 4 wire plug it could be the same board as gs300 7" screen or in alternative If someone there has a touch panel from the gs I could try to fit and discover if it works... I also have the voice command system from Toyota/Lexus Japan and would be great to drive the nav with voice and touch. Any help is welcome. Thanks Pietro
  20. Hello there, I'm a first time lexus owner... i couldn't miss the opportunity when i found this is200 for sale at £500... and i managed to pay just £390. I bought it in nowhere near 'good' condition.. It was really dirty, has a scuff on the front bumper, has no rear headrests and needs a new power steering pump. I'm also after some of the 17" wheel centre caps aswell as mine didnt come with any. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jeff
  21. Hi does anybody have a Nav ECU for a 430 they need to dispose of? I have a gen 1 system and it failed so bought the drive (the internal part not the complete box) from the US. However it is for a Gen 3 system (anybody want it let me know) so will not mount in my box :megaangry:. I don't care which 430 model the unit comes from if it is the box from the boot. If anybody knows of anybody breaking a 430 I would appreciate a nod. Cheers Bren
  22. I have a 2004 GS430 (2nd generation) fitted, as is usual, with the Generation 01 satnav system - the one that starts up with this screen: and which "features" (sic) the Motion Lock on the satnav (where I can't set/change destination and much else while the car is moving) drives me nuts. Lexus is not my Mother. I know. I tried all the cheats I could find online, tapping various parts of the screen in sequence. One did get me to an information/diagnostics screen, but there was definitely no override capability there I also tried cutting one of the wires into the centre console (forget which, now) as per forum suggestions, but that too made no difference so I spliced it back. I then gave up. Now, years later, I've checked to see what's available, and found this: This "Beatsonic nt0202" looks suspiciously like a button switch which simply cuts one of the wires in the loom at the back of the centre console. If so, it is unlikely to fix the motion lock. Is it likely to work on my GS?
  23. Hello Everyone, I have recently purchased a 2006 Lexus RX400H from a Lexus main dealer. It is my first Lexus, and I am new to this Club. Whilst overall, I am very pleased, a few things disappoint me a lot: 1/ Even though I have 2010-11 maps, I cannot update my destination choice on the move. I have read through the forum postings here and others seem to be doing that via firmware update. How do I access the firmware update? The discs came from the supplying dealer, and are definitely genuine. I took the disc out, and reinserted it, but no firmware update option is visible anywhere 2/ On FM, whenever we switch on the rear window heater, there is a huge deterioration in the signal quality, with a lot of interference. Any thoughts? I tried uploading a video file to this site, but I am not allowed to do so. 3/ The Bluetooth implementation is just woeful. It seems that there is no way to manually type in names/numbers, and, as has been documented, the Bluetooth doesn't work with transferring data from iphone. According to the Lexus site, the Galaxy S 11 works perfectly, and I managed to borrow one, setup a Google account, backup all my vcf files from iPhone, transfer those to the galaxy S, connect to RX via Bluetooth, then after a struggle, managed to get the names into Phonebook 1. Alas, I soon realised that if a contact has more than 1 number, only the first number in the list is copied. eg, the home number, but not work or mobile. How useless is that? To discuss the above, I contacted Lexus Customer (non) service, who had no clue how to answer any of the above. They directed to a Premium Rate telephone number for Technical help (they initially declined to tell me that it cost £1.50 a minute, even though I asked). For a Premium Brand, I think that is disgusting. I did ring the supplying dealer who had promised to look into it for me previously, but, weeks later, I have yet to hear back from them. So, as I use the phone and sat nav a lot, it seems that paying a premium for the integrated systems has been a total waste of money. I am considering getting a Parrot fitted, can anyone confirm that I will need just the Parrot and the SOT lead. Do I need anything else? Will I retain the full functionality of the stereo steering wheel controls, as with other cars? I guess getting a Parrot with music playback will enable me to play music through the Mark Levinson stereo somehow - or will I need yet another interface? Thanks for your anticipated help.
