Lexus Model

  1. Hello My lovely IS300H is for sale as l now need a NX for the space they give. 2013 with 65,000 on the clock. Fully serviced by Lexus and has the Lexus guarantee for this last year up until 31/03/24. MOT Dec 2024. Grey with tan interior. All the usual premier extras. £14,750. Portsmouth area.
  2. Just picked up a replacement for my RX400h. A brand new NX300h. I noticed when I got home that only one reverse light was working. Called dealer. They said it was... a feature. ARE YOU FRICKIN' kidding me Lexus!!!! :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: I hate this to be my first post but why is Lexus going backwards??? My RX400h had two reverse lights and (I think) two fog lights. This seems to have only one of each. When I see a car with only one reverse light I always think its broken. I always thought it was a legal requirement too...like having two brake lights. Cars have had two reverse lights since the 1960's.. Why oh why the retrograde step? I just don't get it? Feeling let down and angry...sob...
  3. This is currently taking pride of place outside Lexus Edinburgh. Yay or nay?
  4. I’m a new driver. As the budget is tight, I’m considering a used NX300h from a Lexus Dealer. its 2016 model with 40k mileage, would this be too much? Any thing I should pay attention to during the car check/test drive? thanks
  5. Evening all. Was washing the car today and realised the fuel filler cap is basically not holding itself shut. On investigating the mechanism, I always thought that it had a push to release latch which locks when you lock the car, but it seems that there is no real push to release, all the pushing action does when the car is unlocked is make it pop out for you to grab. Actually you could just use your fingers if you wanted as it doesn't 'latch'. Is everyone else's like this or am I missing something? Shouldn't it latch shut normally? Thoughts on a postcard please... 👍
  6. Hi guys I recently acquired a 2014 plate NX300h and I am not to happy with the size of the screen . I prefer the widescreen look of the facelift models (2018 and above). I have been looking at aftermarket ones on the net and they seem OK and at a decent price also. There are videos of how to install them on YouTube. Does anyone have any experience of changing the screen? And which is a good model to go for?
  7. Hello, My wife picked up her lovely NX 300h Premier in metallic black (Graphite?) yesterday afternoon from Lexus Woodford. MY17 but then the financial and extras incentives from the excellent dealer team was difficult to ignore. And the 17/18 differences are few and irrelevant to a couple of middle-aged party goers! Couldn't be more pleased after about 100 miles in it so far, at 44mpg including a shed load of traffic coming home in the rush hour from Woodford. Loving so far: It looks the dog's danglies. The MPG. Was expecting late 30s but there's time to destroy that yet. The gadgets. Especially the 360 camera. The alloys might survive a certain person's "touch parking" strategy. The stereo. Oh my giddy aunt, what a sound. The best bit thus far. The serenity. Smooth and easy to drive. It really encourages a more laid back approach. It's not a diesel. And that's from a family whose every car since 1994 has been a diesel. It's not German or a JLR product. Which makes it different and "not one of the sheep" in image-conscious Shenfield. The headlights. They turn night into day, even compared to the xenon lights on an Audi. We haven't even begun to explore the gadgets yet so will definitely be back with some questions for you Lexus geniuses very soon! Cheers Simon
  8. That time of year is here, everything is wet and muddy. I am looking for an official Lexus rubber mat set including the boot liner. If anyone has a set for sale please let me know. Other than that are there any cheaper options other than the dealer for a original set? Thanks.
  9. Good morning all, I was on the look out for some Michelin Cross Climate+ tyres to replace my Yokohama fronts and Nexan rears. The rears have only covered 10k but want to replace all four together as the Michelins are obviously an all weather tyre. Anyhow, Kwik Fit are currently offering 10% off a pair and 15% off four. You can also claim some free Michelin Wireless earbuds if you are that way inclined. So a set of four for my CT200h just cost me £415.70 including a £5 charitable donation for a children's cancer charity. The discount worked out at £63.30 and they are due to be fitted on Wednesday morning. I also went through Quidco in case I manage to also succesfully snag the £17.16 cashback which has so far been confirmed as tracked. Just posting in case anyone is considering fitting these tyres to their Lexus in time for winter.
  10. Hi Looking at an 2018 NX, the dealership is selling it as premier trim but no panoramic roof. The official Lexus website says pan roof is by default on premier/ takumi and the sun roof is optional. any one had Similar situation pls any help is greatfuly received
  11. Hey NX lovers, I recently got this NX premium as a loaner from my local dealer (whilst my car was in for a service). I really really like this Mesa red colour, it is a hard toss up between this red and the sonic red on the RC that would be my favourite? I particularly like the lights in the door handles. I hope you enjoy this video 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pKrjmtN7fg&t=0s
  12. Hi Guys, just ordered a new nx300h Takumi with panoramic roof. This is my second Lexus having previously owned one of the first RX400h in the USA some years back, here's hoping the NX is just as good if not better. Certainly has much more equipment and features etc which leads me to my question. It seems to have a wifi hotspot function such that it can be used as an access point - I'd like to think using the cars internet connection would be more stable / faster than a mobile phone tucked away in the armrest. I'm not sure if this facility is standard or an option - I read elsewhere it might be an option to have a SIM reader to connect to the chosen provider. Any further info on this would be useful. Thanks Tim
  13. Hey Everyone, I hope you are all well and keeping safe during this self isolation time? I am absolutely loving the F sport grill and the tri led headlights look awesome. I was wondering what the general consensus would be? A base NX with the packs on it (like that white one I filmed) or the F sport? Interestingly both trims get the same size of rims... Ps here is a video of the 2020 NX F sport 🙂
  14. Hey everyone, I hope you are well? (& keeping safe) I recently got a NX loaner from Lexus Glasgow whilst my IS was in for a service. (could not fault the dealership, excellent service) I was really impressed with the NX (this being a base model with a pack on it, I believe. The car drove more smoothly than my IS and I loved the heated steering wheel!! (It didn't have cooled seats but who needs that in winter) I managed around 34mpg on the day I had it and the lofty driving position was good. I love the colour too, I think it is called sonic white? I made a video of my loaner NX if anyone wishes to check out the latest NX? Thomas 🙂
  15. What Car reliability results 2019 I'm sure this must have been posted before, but I can't find it so here it is (possibly) again! Published in November 2019, the results for Lexus are pretty exceptional. CT, NX and RX scores are beyond reproach, and very much bear out my own experience with my NX. As I've noted before, I appreciate my NX more the longer I own it. The build quality really is impeccable.
  16. So, I'm trying to setup my Infotainment system in my new NX 300h so that it can display fuel prices (and Street View) when not connected to WiFi. When the car's sitting on my drive and connected to my home WiFi, it happily lists nearby garages with fuel prices; but when I'm away from home with a good 4G signal on my Bluetooth connected phone, the map doesn't display the fuel prices. I thought that the connection would be via Bluetooth if WiFi is unavailable, but I can't find any settings to tell it to use the Bluetooth internet link. Any ideas?
  17. My wife experienced a scary issue with the brakes on her NX300h F-Sport (2017). She was driving along the dual carriageway (A8 in Scotland) on Monday morning when the dashboard lit up like a Xmas tree. Multiple warning messages relating to ABS, pre-collision, etc. Tried to stop the car but had almost zero braking power. Pushing the brake pedal all the way to the floor (unusual in itself) resulted in only the slightest amount of braking power. Really scary situation given she was travelling at 60MPH in early morning rush hour traffic. She eventually managed to stop the car. Called Lexus Recovery (AA) who came out within the hour. They confirmed something very wrong with brakes. Again the brake pedal was going all the way to the floor and making a strange noise when pressed. AA declared the car undriveable and ordered up a recovery truck to take it to Lexus Edinburgh. (Note: The AA man checked brake fluid and pads/disks and said no issues. He actually reported the problem on his sheet as potential shattering of brake servo!) Lexus Edinburgh put the diagnostic tool on the car which identified an error code for one of the rear ABS sensors. Apparently the way the sensor works (metal rotor spinning against a magnet) means that metal filings can break off and "clog" the sensor causing it to malfunction. So they took the sensor off, cleaned it out and then re-fitted it. Re-ran the diagnostics and no errors. And in their mind the problem was "probably" fixed and they would return the car. No assurances that it wouldn't happen again but if it did "they would take another look at it". So basically if the brakes fail at 70MPH on the motorway putting my wife in a very dangerous situation then they will do the decent thing and have another look. Unbelievable. They didn't bother to contact my wife to ask what had happened. Simply took the car off the recovery truck and ran their diagnostics and then followed the Lexus procedure which match the error code. Even when I rang them to explain what had actually happened they responded with "that couldn't possibly happen" and "a malfunctioning ABS sensor would not cause that to happen". So they were basically calling my wife and the AA man liars. I also pointed out to them that the (obvious) fact that the car had another three ABS sensors which had been on the car for exactly the same amount of miles (22,000) and as such there was a very high likelihood that they will have the exact same build-up of metal shavings, and therefore any one of them could be ready to fail. maybe in a day, a week or a month. And maybe the correct thing would have been to clean ALL of the sensors. But they weren't interested, Basically saying they wouldn't get reimbursed from Lexus for that work because those sensors were not showing as faulty. Again, unbelievable. And a complete lack of care towards the safety of one of your customers. I have no idea whether the malfunctioning ABS sensor was the issue. If it was, and it did cause a massive reduction in braking performance, then how can Lexus not class this as a huge safety issue. Losing 90-95% of braking performance without warning cannot be acceptable. Surely a malfunctioning sensor should just disable ABS. Why should it reduce braking performance. Where's the sense in that? Even cleaning out the sensor is a temporary fix as it will most likely happen again. Especially with four sensors. But more worrying is (if I believe the Head of Service at Lexus when he says the ABS sensor cannot cause this to happen) the possibility that it isn't the ABS sensor and the root cause of the issue is still there. End result. My wife will not drive the car. And I can't really blame her. She travels to work and back every day along the M8 motorway so maybe 90% of her everyday journey is at 70MPH. If the issue happens again its likely it will be at that speed. This time she was lucky in that she had literally just come off the M8 onto the sliproad so less traffic. She wants rid of the car. Immediately. So, obvious question, has anyone ever experienced something like this themselves in their Lexus.
  18. I'm a new member and I'm as excited as a terribly excited person who has a really good reason for being terribly excited! New NX 300h F-Sport Takumi pack in sonic titanium inbound, 2 weeks and 1 day counting down.... My first Lexus and I've never been looking forward to a car more...
  19. Hey Guys, I thought I would share a video I made on the Nx300h, I have the 2019 RC video coming soon. In mean time I thought some of you may enjoy this NX300h video? Thanks, Thomas :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCHCnxY0F5w&t=42s
